I wish somebody could tell me if this cross-gender thing is just the fashion in Japan, or if it goes deeper and there's definitely something wrong with being a man and looking like one.

::meev:: Ohhhh. Thank you for that. *fixes*

@MissUMana: The idea of men dressing as femininely in japan isn't nearly as taboo as it is in western countries. Men used to be the only ones allowed to preform in kabuki and therefore played women characters as well. Since it's been a part of Japanese culture for so long it's not very abnormal. Also the standards of masculinity in japan are very different than they are in europe or noirth america. For instance, many men in japan carry handbags, which is not seen as feminine or perhaps even homosexual like it would be here.

In the case of Selia, though, I thought she* was a drag queen?

*I'm using female pronouns with the preconceived notion that Selia is a drag queen.

Scape is a kawaii-free zone.

Leave your kawaiis, your animes and your cosplays at the door.

Lol.

I thought Selia was a she as well, even from Seileen's music, until I went to their myspace and they listed her as "countertenor". I thought "Hey, that' can't be right, she should be a mezzo, the japanese people love to..."

and then I saw this

well, it isn't the same exact picture, but she was only wearing that vest in the original pic i saw

Try as he may to make himself look ugly or weird, he's still the most beautiful thing in the world.

You saw a photo of two very unattractive white girls and a drunk SELIA (made sure to spell that correctly this time, because I didn't want to get the wrath again  )

No, seriously. He's a very beautiful person, even if that isn't a flattering photo!

Dont take it personally, i was just correcting the mistake. Wouldn't you if someone would spell your name wrong? :P Or even call Mana as Mona or something like that for example!!! ;)

And if i remember correctly this is GPKISM topic and there is actually more preferable topic for discussing about Selia;

I lived in a delusion as well about Selias gender for the first time. It was the time when they we're performing under the name Seirenes.

 Oh, I didn't take it personally, I was just being silly. People spell my real name wrong all the time, so I totally understand.

I like that his gender is 'blurry' if you will. I think it adds to his beauty

I've followed this thread for a while (but wasn't a member to that time) but i have to say that I'm honestly sad about Kiwamu's actions.
It doesn't do him any good, just in a grotesque way it keeps him to be the subject of conversations (Which were entertaining though).

Oh, what I wanted to add, as I read the earlier pages here: Thank you for the link to the EOD gallery!
I wish it was more about the music and not Kiwamu's stupide actions - but we would need to tell that Kiwamu abd then I'm dead XD"

So after reading the visual kei interview posted on the other thread I was browsing the guy's other blog posts and I came across a snippet about GPKISM which I found hilarious:

But the synths they use are very hip-ten-years-ago eurobeat music. At first i thought, "that’s lame. These old dudes is showing their age. " Then i thought – "WAIT- their whole thing is being from old times. so maybe they are deliberately playing old-fashioned music – baroque – in a DIFFERENT BUT STILL OLD FASHIONED STYLE: retro-’90s disco."

if that is intentional, it would be the Artiest thing about tonight.

I'm not going to listen to that to find out, but I'm going to go ahead and assume that it was a rage-related offense.
