I flush my microwave in the toilet to disinfect it.
Did you know that in America, toilets share the same water source as the sink, so tap water and toilet water come from the same place? In Japan, though, the toilet water is not processed like the tap water because that is a waste of time and money, so they don't advise you to drink from it or wash your microwaves, toothbrushes, or laundry in it either.

Well - I'm gonna say no to the poll because I'd imagine most people haven't tried it, whereas everyone's used a microwave and can form an opinion. But I definitely want to see a writeup of this experiment in the off-topic section  Inquiring minds want to know!

I said from the inside out. But I just think that. I never had a microwave (it's sad but true) but all my friends have microwaves, so I remember a few experiences with them  ...

I happen to believe that it cooks from the outside in- I cook stuff in it all the time and have to go in and stir it because it is hot on the outside and still frozen on the inside... which is why I voted thus

I remember we had a lesson about microwave cooking in Food Technology when I was about 15... (yes - a lesson devoted to microwave cooking  )
And I clearly remember the teacher telling us that microwaves cooked from the inside out.

I'm autistic. When something sticks, baby, it really sticks. Damn her!
