^ You have a ring ceremony? Okay, we don't have anything like that. :P Personally I think that's a bit silly, but it probably does vary from region to region on how important school rings are.

All the people that I know who bought school rings wear them, or did regularly wear theirs for a good amount of time. It's all in how you make it out to be for yourself. I wish I had one for my high school, but I also really like rings and would probably design a pretty good one, haha. XD I also have a weakness for any sort of customization and automatically feel compelled to do it if it's offered... x.x

I think they're pointless. Seriously. The only way to remember high school is to look at a ring you never wear?

Because I designed mine specifically to look as little like a class ring as possible, and because the symbols I was liberally allowed to design on the ring, I actually wear mine pretty much whenever I go out or dress up even slightly.

To each their own, though.

You got a link for that? A custom ring sounds like a pretty cool idea actually - I'd never heard of any place that does it.

I don't think I got a class ring for HS, I got one for elementary and its a nice memento but I never wear it anyway. The only school-related item I bought that has any sentimental value to me was the Hoodie for my AP-Art Studio class that we designed ourselves... and I lost it in the same year. I was very sad and I can never get it back. :'(

Though Elec I find it really interesting that you got to design most of it yourself! I wish I had that option.

I misspoke when I say I 'designed' it; I basically got to pick design elements of it. From the catalog I picked the least "beer-cars-and-nudie-magazines" men's ring and was able to pick engravings on the side (mine is of guitars and drums). The part I was most excited about was, if you picked a smooth jewel, you had the option of putting an engraving under there that would be viewable through the jewel. I sat down with the salesman, sketched it in front of him, and said "could you do that?" and he said absolutely. That sealed the deal, really. I picked the cheapest metal and a cheap jewel that matched the color I wanted. I'm quite the cheapskate.

The only evidence it's a high school ring is the name of my high school around the jewel, not too garish, and our mascot on the opposite side of the guitars, which happens to be an animal I think is cool so it all works out in the end.

This is all pretty funny, because although I did have a great high school experience I'm not exactly keen on actively remembering much of it. :-P

I got a high school ring. My ring size is between sizes, so I was told "better to get smaller than bigger"....and it turned out that I could never actually WEAR the ring because I couldnt get it off once I put it on...

And the designs that I wanted were overruled by my mother, so I have to most boring ring in the world.

I was looking at the Encrusting Symbols section, and I clicked on Accounting...now what does the Ying Yang symbol have to do with accounting? ::gaku::

The architecture one isn't cool ::gaku::

And I just made my dream ring design XD

Office Careers- God, this has to be the most soul-crushing class ring ever XD Nice '80s-vintage computer too.

Hrm. I'll take the Commodore ring! As long as it comes with a complimentary soul-crushing ;)

That'd be a HELL no... they're tacky, hideous and overpriced. I think I spent my class ring money on some designer jeans or something...

Didn't buy one. I didn't like highschool, so I don't want a memento of it.

If I wanted to get an expensive ring, I'd only go for VW.

I didn't get one in high school, I'm in college now and I don't see buying one...
The way I see it, I'd just spend the money on something I'd actually use.
