I read the first chapter of Trinity Blood: Reborn on the Mars 1 but had to stop because of school work. So I read a book about North Korea's history and it's realations with America, China and South Korea instead. Pretty interessting ~

I approve.

We've got an Anne Rice thread around here somewhere- if you're really interested in the series, you might want to look it up and read it a bit. ;)

I just finished reading Memnoch the Devil for the second time. It's made me all serious now. >.> Hell, now I might dredge up the old thread- I've got a few questions! XD

Man, I still haven't been able to hit the bookstore for the Vampire Lestat and the Queen of the Damned.

Anyways, I'm now reading volume 3 of Transmetropolitan. Awesome! ::squee::

I saw Harry Potter-based fanfictions that were over 2000 and even 3000 pages, on fanfiction.net.

I liked the first part of Les Misérables. The story of Jean Valjean's redemption is touching. But the second half was pretty boring to me. As for Ray Bradbury, I got boooored of his writing so much !

I've gotten some great reading suggestions from this thread! My library card is going to be getting quite a workout.

I love reading. I'm currently rereading Anne McCaffrey's Pern series. I just finished rereading both of the Ender's Game series and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (by Orson Scott Card and Douglas Adams, respectively). I reread a lot of things because I'm too broke to buy new books and to spend the gas to go to the library often. >.< However, I'm going to check out a ton of new books next time I go, thanks to you guys. :D

I am a huge Harry Potter geek, however, and after Pern I'm going to be rereading the first six books in order in preparation for the last book's release next month. *excited* I'm such a geek, I'm going to a midnight release party and everything.

I'm currently reading HP Lovecraft's - Shadow over Innsmouth. It's a great book, in line with the Cthulu Mythos ^^

BTW, if you happen to have the Call of Cthulu Game, it's based on the book I'm reading xD

I don't like bradbury either. I had to read "dandelion wine" by him for school and, my god, I never thought I'd ever come across a book with no plot or substance in it, but I did. There's no story, nothing going on, nothing. It's all "I'm at my grandparent's house for the summer. It's hot out, so we went to the ice shed. They always bring the ice at around 3pm. I'm going to go to the movies tonight. Wow, this was the best summer ever. THE END"

That's it. That's the whole book in a nutshell. There's nothing to it- no plot, no point, and no resolution because there is nothing to resolve. :|

I also read some martian book by him, and it was just as boring. At least there was some minor action going on and people died or something, but it was just as stupid, virtually plotless, and pointless as dandelion wine.

What a waste of my life. ::hora::

^ I've never read that one before.

But gooooosh I loved The Martian Chronicles....

....but then again, I am a big Isaac Asimov fan, so maybe I just liked the Martian Chronicles because it was that sort of kind of science fiction. ^^

^ Maybe that's what I read was the martian chronicles. I couldn't remember the name. I only remembered dandelion wine because we had to go over it in class. After reading stuff by Robin Mckinley and Anne Rice, his books are like eating ancient cardboard. I don't know why he's famous. XD

So I've been reading Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson. It bugs me because I KNOW there's a story here. But I have to wade through all this useless DETAIL and over-explaining muck to get to it. It used to be fun in his older books. but this time he tried a bit TOO hard.

I really wanna hit the bookstore this weekend for the next Vampire Chronicles books. I need a break.
