I'm not sure if this should go here or Off Topic, but it's to do with a Malice Mizer release so I assume here.

I am using this to discuss everything about the 30 minute silent movie, Verte Aile, since it is quite O_o! inducing.

Anyway, to start off I have a couple of questions.

1. Why does Gackt leave his lover at the very start of the movie to go get drunk at the bar, when minutes later you see the 2 of them together doing fun things couples do?

2. Why does Kami slit his wrist?

3. What exactly *is* Kami's role in the movie? Is he a friend of the Gackt/Judith/Yu~ki family?

Ok, another question.

Why does Yu~ki leave the house normal and end up at the tavern all injured? And why does it reverse for Gackt? He leaves the tavern injured but gets to the house all cut and bruised etc.

What I got from it was that...

1) Gackt left his lover because he had something to do with her being sick. So he felt guilty and couldn't handle watching her die, so he went to a bar to drown his sorrows.

2) I think Kami is in love with Gackt's lover and...he slits his wrist in front of Gackt to say "I can't handle it anymore. You win. She loves you more than me"

And to get back to the house Gackt had to ride through the forest at full speed...through tree branches and such...so that's why he got cut up.

But that's just what I personally got out of it.

I thought that the visit to the fortune teller was the start of his lover being sick O_o!

Also, the guy in the black cloak (the guy with the livre de merveilles). What is his role in the film? He seems to just go to the tavern and read his new book he found in the mud XD

Also, the shots you see of Gackt AFTER he leaves the forest seem normal. I can't see any rips in his clothing or that

Yes, but Gackt was the one who took her to see the fortune teller.

I think the book brings the curse to Gackt and his friends. Like in the movie "The Mummy", reading from the book causes disaster. That's why the man in the cloak chains it up and throws it in the water in the end...to stop the curse from spreading and harming others.

Ah, the movie still doens't make much sense but ah well.

I wonder what would happen if someone rented Mana (being the prostitute that he is in the film) and realised he wasn't a woman... o_o!

Well...it isn't a well written movie....a lot is left unanswered and unexplained. But I like it because it kinda forces you to make up your *own* story...and as a writer I kind of enjoy that.

Haha. I always took it that Mana was playing an actual woman in the movie, but that's something to think about.

On closer look, I don;t think the guy in the black cloak during the movie, and the guy in the black cloak at the end are the same person. The one at the end has long hair and by the look of things looks a bit like Kozi or Kami, and I can't see any facial hair on him

It doesn't mention a Writer in the credits, but I assume Malice Mizer wrote it XD (probably Gackt since he wrote the lyrics to merveilles)

After watching it again, the 'long hair' was just the light glare. But upon closer inspection, the guy at the end has little in hair, and if he has any you can't see it O_o

I always found it funny how it implied that it was Mana who killed Gackt's lover.

Threesome! XD *runs*

All I ever got from this movie was "this makes absolutely no sense, what fun. I'll watch it again."

wouldn't it be great to do some joke voiceovers?

Kami.... all the credits say is that he's the "Nobleman".... not that that tells us much.

Well, you see the maid come in to give her the food, right? I always assumed the stuff he put in was some kind of poison, or other. And when you see them together in the forest all 'omg I luuuuv you 8D', there's the disgusted look on his face. And Mana was the last to see her before she died.

Then there's the fact s/he was trying to seduce Gackt (at least, it's how I took it. :P) at the bar place. Unless the maid and prostitute were two different roles.

There is a soundtrack, but not an actual released OST. There are files swarming round the internet that are basically rips from the movie that have been named and called the soundtrack, although to this day there hasn't been a release of it.

I find it strange how it's Malice Mizer's movie, but the they didn't actually write the music for it. In fact it wasYohei Sakuma

The maid and the prostitute *were* different roles, and so were the Pantomimist/Fortune Teller (Kozi).

When Mana comes along with stuff to eat Judith (the heroine) does a gesture as in to say "No, I don't want this." Mana then goes away with the food and drink he brought I think. It might have been the tea that wasn't accepted though.

And I think Yu~ki was the last person to see her before she died if I am not mistaken. That was when he rushes out the house and flees to the tavern to get Gackt
