The Sexuality Poll

It seems like we have a somewhat diverse group here in regards to which gender(s) we are attracted to and I'm curious to see what the percentages actually work out to.

If you don't want to share something so personal, just pick an option in the poll, and don't post a reply (although, it's 2007 and nobody should have to feel ashamed about any of this anymore - but it's up to you). I know that some of us don't perfectly fit into the above categories, but just go with whatever's the closest.

So as to not be a hypocrite (and because I'm a compulsive internet sharer - hey, I'll never meet any of you in real life) I'll tell you that I'm bisexual and I that I've had several girlfriends as well as boyfriends but that I'm married to a man now, and am monogamous (I don't buy into that idea that having sex with someone of the same gender is somehow not cheating).


By the way, under the Bisexual (female) option, I'm not talking about those dumb girls that make out with other girls just to turn guys on. I mean you have - or gladly would - sleep with another woman without a guy around.

Okay I always say I'm straight but writing out my reply here and then re-writing it, I realize I am like...pansexual or allsexual or something or other that I don't know the word.

Thinking about my past relationships and what I'm really attracted to, it doesn't matter the gender. It's the person inside who matters.

But I answered "straight" because I usually just say I'm straight to make things easy! Gwahhh~~ ::kisaki::

There are varying degrees to sexuality. If you are 95% gay, I think it's pretty safe to just call yourself gay.

The Kinsey Scale is a scale from 0-6, where 0 is 100% heterosexual and 6 is 100% homosexual:


0- Exclusively heterosexual with no homosexual
1- Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual
2- Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3- Equally heterosexual and homosexual
4- Predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5- Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual
6- Exclusively homosexual

The theory is that most of us will fall somewhere in between those two extremes (and actually it can change throughout your life, IMO). Most people aren't completely gay or straight - but you can be sort of close enough. I think if you're a 5, you might as well just say you're gay, because you are only very slightly attracted to the opposite sex - to the point where it almost doesn't matter.

This concept of degree helped me a lot as a teenager when I was still trying to figure it all out.

Well, if he's not sexually attracted to females then he could be bi-romantic yet homosexual. But maybe that's fitting too much stuff in definitions. :/ Specially since I don't know you that well, Amatsu.

Myself? I could be considered a gay male. That's the closest the answers come to me, so I voted that. But I'm more of an androgynous asexual. xD
Or a gay asexual/aromantic with genderqueer issues(cuz I'm a born female).
