One slightly-to-the-side-of-topic question: I read in one or two places that Kami had a kid. Is this so? I ask merely out of curiosity.

Highly, highly, 99.999% doubtful. In otherwords, no. I think if he did, there would have something out about that a long time ago since all the beans tend to spill once someone's died.

I think there have been pictures of him with a little boy, and that's probably where the rumor started, but I don't think it was his son. Some people have said that it was one of the band members' nephews, but I wouldn't bank too much on that either.

Are you meaning the shoot with that kid? I'm pretty sure that was mana's nephew, or was that a different picture....? Anyway, this is stupid, stop bringing up rumors. :P

I'm just trying to put the rumor in context, come on :P

I'm assuming it started from that 'family' photoshoot where the members are playing the role of a family. Kami is dressed like a woman and he's playing with a little boy. I doubt the kid even has any relation at all, though.

^ Oh, no, the 'don't bring up rumors' thing wasn't directed right at you.

Sorry 'bout that. ::kisaki::

And in that photoshoot, Kami wasn't dressed as a woman. O_o That was mana's part. XD I thought of Kami as the dead-beat husband with that class of liquor and cigarette hanging out of his mouth in that one picture.

but could also be Bisexual, he says he likes men, but not that he likes men ONLY

The point is that he hasn't said anything yet- not until we get quality translations. More than likely it was just a shoddy job.

I don't think they prove anything. those comments could mean a lot of things. If he is gay, that doesn't mean he's automatically alright with fanservice and crossdressing. :|

edit: woops, just saw navates post ::meev:: ignore this\

Whatever thing it was that I read to begin with that talked about that, though (it was ages ago- I think it was on scape, though) made it sound like he didn't like it because it infringed on his manliness or something. ::meev::

in semi-related news [about fangirlism of vk]:

I was in my local kinokuniya looking at an issue of cure or shoxx or some other magazine and some girl comes in wearing hot topic psuedo-vk clothes and had fuckish hair, etc etc. anyways how she looked wasn't important, the thing of interest was that she started talking to me about jrockers, gackt, nightmare, an cafe, etc. Her friend who is absolutely taken aback by the fact that the guys in these magazines are infact guys, asks if they're gay. at this point the girl with the hot topic stuff says something that in response, I turn around, and silently walk away.

"I don't know if kisaki is gay, but I know Shinya* from dir en grey is."

after i got outside, i bursted into laughter and commenced making fun of her in my head, and left.

*of course she says shin as in shinbone and ya as in yuck. this doesn't matter, but a lot of people seem to pronounce it like this, its funny because most of them pronounce everything else they say in japanese correctly. ::gaku::

Yes he was >>; He even has fishnet stocking and high heels... I uploaded the whole article and photoshoot a few months ago. (It'd be nice to see what the interview is about and if they explain the pics btw xD) but as far as I know Mana only has a niece. And she's like 2-3 years old now. So the kid is probably just random... Same with the kid in that other pic with Mana...

I don't know, this might sound offensive but I'm just saying: I think no matter how bad a translation is (the person says that he/she has studied Japanese for 3 years), things can't really change that much O_o

Okay, now for a recap-

Someone posts a link to someone's shoddy translation and asks about scapers finishing it in a kickass way.

Yay! right?

"The translation sucked and it makes no sense either way kthxbai"

"BUT TEH GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY"

"Please everyone let's chill out and be mature, k?"

"Agreed"

"Crossdressing =/= Gay"

Elec attempts to make sense of and clarify the previous mess of insanity.

More craziness ensues rather briefly.

Navate and a few people are actually being mature.

MorganIvy requests scans on jrock_scans so this whole mess can finally be settled. <3

Interesting debate ensues, Cally in Lurker Mode heaves a sigh of relief and thinks everyone's immune systems have finally defeated Teh Crazy Virus that seems to be going around.

The enchanted forest that resides in Gackt's armits is displayed. No gnomes are present.

More interesting debate.

Gakuhai and GakuMana is mentioned.

":|"

Italics, while based VERY LOOSELY on Cursive, =/= Cursive.

Cally sings the lumberjack song to herself quietly while reading more serious posts that bring up what is quite possibly the Godwin's Law of Jrock Sexuality Debates, which was previously touched upon on Page 1.

People agree with Navate's post. Many yayz are uttered.

Topic jumps to fanfiction and pairings. ::gaku::

SuomiGoth tries to get everybody back on track, and things work well briefly.

"Lulz yaoi"

Elec brings up a valid point.

Everyone either starts talking in circles.

"Kami had a kid? LULZ"

"Rumor, y0."

"ORLY?"

"YA RLY"

"KTHX"

"Lulz I stil tink Kami wuz teh gay even tho teh translation wuz teh sux0rz"

"Ya me 2"

"Hay u guiz! Wut were we talkin bout again? :D"

If you think things cannot change that much, then you know very little about Japanese grammar. It's very complicated, and unless you really, really understand the particles and their placement, you can get an entirely different meaning from a sentence than from what was intended.

Studied Japanese for three years? Most likely privately on their own time instead of in a class judging by their wording.

Also, their wording looks as if the person who translated it doesn't even natively speak english. That isn't reliable in the slightest.

No, this translation isn't good at all. We shouldn't take anything from it until we have scans. (and yes, italics FTW)

I'm not saying any of this to be a jerk, but it isn't good when people make delicate statements such as 'it can't change much' without at least having some grasp of the grammar of the language through proper instruction. Japanese grammar is very tricky, and some of the wording can be misinterpreted for something else (like I mentioned in a way earlier post about 'realization' ect.).

Also, I endorse Cally's recap.
