I played about 15 minutes of it before getting beaten twice by the first boss and getting thoroughly annoyed by the midis and turn based fighting then put it away, never to be looked at again.

lmao XD The bosses had nothing on me. I got beaten senseless by sephiroth 70 times in a row at the end of the game because I got lazy and didnt level up enough... so I decided to take horrible vengence upon him.

I started a new game, and leveled up what characters I had to max before I even left midgar. And whupped his ass soundly. ^_^

It really is a great game if you give it enough of a chance, and have a little patience.

Well, if you dont like the tie ins (I do), dont expect to not see them for a long time. Square Enix announced recently they are doing stuff for the next 20 years with FF7.

My favorite part of FF7 was the Chocobo racing

My second favorite part was beating the living daylight out of Ruby Weapon. I did it once when I was in elementary school and I've never been able to do it again XDD

Are you kidding me? Seriously, where was this announced? Can you provide a link? (not that I doubt you, but I didn't think Square Enix would go that low to milking pretty much everything out of FF7).

It's things like this, and the 3 different Final Fantasy XIII's coming out, that lead me to believe Square Enix is becoming the Kisaki of the gaming industry. ::kisaki::

I might. I've actually thought about getting it out again, so maybe after I finish KH2. XD But those midis.... They're really terrible, and on top of losing over and over, that just did it for me. XD But in all honesty, I really want to try playing dirge of cerberus(sp?). :D

I could never win at it, ended up playing it with the strategy guide on my lap and calling my sister to beat the bosses for me ::kisaki:: One of my favorite parts was the Cloud crossdressing in Midgar  I remember not leveling up enough and after 100 tries couldn't leave the world of the ancients, so started the game over, stayed up for like two days and nights, and woke up the neighbors screaming "I BEAT THE DOOORRRR!!!! XDDDD" at 4 in the morning. Good times ::meev::

I think they should stop milking FF7 for all it's worth. It was one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and now they're making it a major fan-girl base. Didn't they already cover Zack's story in FF7? :|

That was at the Wall Market. ><

But yeah, that was a funny part. I always make Corneo (sp?) pick me, and then I lead him on. xD

I agree.

It's like FFI through VI don't friggin' exist. >_>
FFVIII and X might appear here and there for tie-ins, but I've noticed that IX gets ignored.

And the representing character for IX seems to be Vivi; nobody else gets mentioned.
Well, there's Kuja . . . but yanno his "appeal". *cough* ::erm::

Hmm, there's also FF: Tactics. Mmmmm. Strategic gameplay. :D

I haven't played 1-6. : /

(Review time! Dx)
VIII was so sad. It was really emotional. I really liked how there was a whole secret, and it all starts to unravel. There's also little hidden extras every now and then.

FFIX had a fantastic storyline, and battle system! I just think it gets ignored, because it's too long for "FF freaks". xD

FFX was sad, too. The whole past to future thing was kind of a mind bender. And the new system of controlling Summons (Aeons), and talking was astounding! It was truly an epic.

FFX-2 got too much credit. It was really short. And the storyline was kind of stupid. "Oh! I want 'You-know-who' back!". It was pretty bad. The dresspsheres and everything were cool, though. And I can't believe that they changed the Victory Fanfare!

Meaning, that they go for short, "evil", and scantily clad. :|

Dirge of Cerberus looks like it's going to be goooooood. And besides, there's the added bonus of it being with Vincent and the ever-underappreciated Reeve is in it XD

That, and Gackt should be in it... I mean hell if I was willing to waste 7 dollars on Bujingai, I may as well buy what actually looks like it's going to be a DAMN good game XD

That Wall market part was one of my favorites as well XD I actually got Cloud so prettied up that Corneo chose him every time I played the game. Good times

My other favorites were the Honeybee Inn scenes, Tseng bitchslapping Aeris, "Who do you like?" with Reno and Rude, among all manner of other parts in the game XD

I dont mind the tie-ins so much, because it -was- my favorite game.. and as long as Squeenix doesnt screw anything up I'll happily support them. >_> I always wanted to see a little more vincent and the turks. The turks just get no love.

When it comes down to it, honestly, I think the main reason they're doing so many tie-ins is because the fans are BEGGING them for more. Begging for sequels, movies, prequels...and god knows what else. And I dont really blame either side, it was one of the greatest videogames ever made...and certainly the greatest I've ever played. It set the standards for all games to follow it, and where villians are concerned... Sephiroth also set the standards.

Everywhere I look there's a silver-haired sephiroth-wannabe. Look at Legend of Dragoon. Freaking Lloyd is just begging to be mocked (as much as I liked his character) as a failed clone. Even square themselves tried to create a villian to outdo sephiroth and failed. I see that mostly with Seymour from X. They gave him a pretty face, sneaky attitude, and a sad past... but nobody has ever loved and at the same time hated a villian as much as they have Sephiroth.

And again, about the tie-ins, as long as they dont lame the game out I'm cool

Anything is better than the disaster that is FFX2

Kuja...just...kuja...I adore and feel the need to relentlessly mock him at the same time. XD I feel pretty...oh so pretty.... I feel pretty and witty and g-*is bricked* X_X

I never was able to play 1-6, as much as I would like to... ;_;

8 was a great game, but the underlying twists could be so subtle that 90% of the fans to this day didnt get it that Ultimecia was really Rinoa. And good god...some of the fanfictions and fanarts... LAGUNA IS SQUALL'S FATHER FOR CHRISSAKES ;_; some still insist that laguna isnt his dad. And every time I stumble on fanart of the two of them I cringe, lol.

FF8 to jrock related side-note: Anybody notice that edea and quistis were vaguely manaesque? Squall was definately a gackt clone as much as they try to deny it... and In the cutscenes in the end, did anybody facially see a little Kami in laguna? Made me all fuzzy inside, it did.

I loved 9, I really really did... and Kuja, as much as I mock him, was a good villian. Not fantastic, but pretty damn good. It's been a very long time since I've played it, so I havent had much else to say there.

Final Fantasy 10 was wonderful, really one of the best games. And square continued with their "Annoying and kinda stupid leading male character" trend XD Yeah, I didnt like Tidus at all. But for a start I actually liked the leading female character Yuna.. she was nice, but not the fake TOO nice like Aeris in 7. And not relentlessly annoying like Rinoa was.

I wound up being one of the few fans who wound up actually liking and feeling bad for seymour, as I am one of those psychos who does ALL the freaking sidequests to find out more about the characters. I think he doesnt get enough love.

And the SPHERE GRID. Good god I loved the sphere grid, with enough patience you can be UNSTOPPABLE. But then again, I'm a freak like that. I leveled up all the characters I had at that point to max before I left freaking midgar when I played 7. This game came in a close 2nd to 7, which will always hold number 1 in my eyes. Granted rehashes most of the time suck, but i'd like to see 7 remade.

This brings me to FFX2. The abomination. Like I said to Kyuketsuki over AIM, it's like Pretty Princess Dressup meets charlies angles, scooby doo with a dash of cousin love. I swear to god. It's very sad, the story ITSELF had a lot of promise. They just tried to girl it out too much, and tried ENTIRELY too hard to be funny.

And the fact that Yuna's cousin was constantly hitting on her creeped me WAY out. Seriously. I can't believe I wasted 40 or so dollars on that piece of crap. The dressphere thing wasnt bad...

...okay except for the berserker and songstress spheres. Those creep me out. A lot. Probably because Berserker Rikku shows SERIOUS uh...(am I allowed to say this here? If not feel free to edit it flowers x.x...) nipplage, and Songstress Paine has a serious camel-toe going on. Horrifying.

I like that Yuna is actually able to show some backbone towards the end, though. Shows a lot of growth for her. Rikku was kinda weirder and a little more annoying, but not bad. Paine was, as square mentioned before it was released, female squall XD Gippal was probably my favorite character, because unlike most FF male characters... he was just a regular dude. Not Mr. Mysterious, Mr. Emo, Mr. Testosterone, but a regular dude. That in itself made him very endearing.

And SDjilliaRE, they changed the fanfare because Nobuo Uematsu refused to work on this game XD hence the crappy hokey music, lol.

O_O omg oldschool final fantasy game XD <3<3<3 You know, I used to have the Final Fantasy series' retarded little brother Final Fantast Mystic Quest a long time ago. I wound up selling it along with my super nintendo to funcoland so I could buy my friend a christmas present years back. I miss that game. It was lame as hell, but addictive.

I'd only buy it for Cait Sith. It sucks that they ditched the giant moogle, though...

I never got that. I thought that Edea was possesed by Ultemecia, and Rinoa was possesed by Edea...

And how could Laguna be Squall's father? Does that make him Ellone's brother, or something?

On a side note: I have the FF8 demo. xD

All it is is the very first mission (the war), but your party is Rinoa, Squall, Zell, and Seifer. Seifer isn't in the battle party, though. And Rinoa doesn't talk. But you go from the arrival to the escape. And the video where Squall runs from the Robo-spider, and Quistis kills it, is changed. Selphie is replaced with Rinoa, and they're all in their regular outfits.

I've also played the PC one, and it takes place after you leave the ball.

I don't blame him. xD
The OST was terrible without him, though.

The chocobo waltz became the choco-rap, The fanfare became a guitar solo, and I can't even begin to mention the new town songs.

And that cousin love thing is gross. Especially at the hot spring, when Rikku sneaks a peak, and pretty much goes "Daaaaang, baby. ;) ".
