I voted teh first one but saying that i don't love them dosen't mean i hate them now ^^ it's just when i listen to their actual music it doesn't make feel anything v_v'
Voted for the last one in lack of an opinion that suits how I feel about them...
Withering to death and the singles released between Vulgar and WtD are my favourites out of Dir en greys time, and I also like Vulgar a lot. The things before that are ok and I like them, but don't listen to them that much, and the same goes for marrow and that kind but I think they overdid it. They are great and I still love them, but not as much as I used to do two years ago... And I rarely listen to their newest music. It doesn't touch me at all.
thats exactly the point. their music doesnt touch anymore. well, maybe if you are totally new to JRock, going through puberty, or like uncreative music, then yes.
Kisou is my favorite album of theirs, but I like GAUZE as much as I like Marrow. I'm a big fan of both 90's VK and heavy music, so the change hasn't bothered me.
And a note, just in case: The whole old-school Dir en grey vs. post-VULGAR Dir en grey debate is possibly the most tiresome and aggravating subject in Jrock. If this thread implodes into a shouting match about which era sucks/rocks most, I'm locking it like there's no tomorrow. So behave yourselves and respect everyone's differing tastes. YE HAVE BEEN WARNED.

They were cool during the Vulgar and Withering to death days. They were really bad before and became really bad after, but not as bad as their first albums.
They are the first band that got me hooked on the Japanese music scene. I was so, so into them . . . Deg was about the only band I would listen to. Of course I discovered other bands (BUCK-TICK kicked Deg off the #1 spot) and about 3 years ago I stopped on intently following up on their activities and releases. Just because.
I don't hate them. I could care less on what direction of music they want to pursue. I still listen to them, just not on a heavy basis that I used to do and listening to new (non-sample) material will take me a good half year to get to because I am lazy.
My favorite albums/eras are Macabre (YES MACABRE D=) through VULGAR.
This poll presupposes that everyone has strong feelings about them either way. There needs to be an "I have no real opinion on DeG" option and/or an "I think they're ok" option.
I used to love them. Then they came over here and started to sound like every other American band. I started to listen to them because they were different and now that they sound like everyone else, I'm not interested anymore. My favourite album is VULGAR though.
