You don't even want to know XD
I should clarify that I'm talking about "out-of-print" sneakers here, I don't think retail sneakers are wildly expensive. Or at least, no more so than all clothes in Japan are.

I wonder if he has a separate room in his house, just for the sneakers? :D Maybe he will one day open a sneakers' museum at his home, like this Japanese guy did with his Hello Kitty stuff: https://nextshark.com/meet-japanese-man-owns-worlds-largest-hello-kitty-collection/

So it just dawned on my that I may be the only foreigner at the next live and I don't understand Japanese either.

That would be sad indeed. Not to understand the banter between Kaya and Hora :P But I don't think you will be the only foreigner, because I plan to go to all three lives (there's still the issue of sneaking out of Friday's lectures though....).

I am just going to take the day off work, there is an instore event happening around the same time too isn't there?

I was wondering what to wear to the live, now I am thinking I should just wear my Nikes. ::hora::

Have you seen the blogpost he did, showing part of his collection? it looks very organized XD

I think I can recall a photo of one of his cats being encircled by sneakers (and the cat looks ridiculously indifferent towards the sneakers). You mean that one?

I'm with Hanachan on this one. Sneaker basement. Sneaker basement all the way.
The Hora household organization, according to myself is..

F1: Hora + Satoko + Hair-pulling little Hora
F0: Satoko's parents
F-1: Sneaker warehouse complete with forklift

and 4 randomly dispersed cats

Hora totally doesn't have a kid, that's my least favorite silly Hora rumor XD

I wasn't thinking a basement though, just the warehouse on ground level and the living quarters above it. Do Japanese houses even have basements? I thought that was mostly a Northeast US thing.

Attic, maybe? With the creepy white demon girl with long black hair that all Japanese houses have.

edit: Unless you think they use outside storage...there are ads all over France for that.
For the parents, I mean.

I remember my early days on the internet and an American telling me about their basement, prior to that I'd never heard of them before and had to ask my parents what a basement was.

Nope, no basements. I just read about that: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...ese-helpless-north-korea-threat/#.WcGz18gjHIU Nowhere to store sneakers... and nowhere to hide from N-Korea missiles :P

I noticed on the trains there was a lot of commercials about renting a storage space, so I guess that's what japanese people do. My bet goes on that then XD

ok, so, consensus seems to be...

F1: Hora and Satoko
F0: sneaker warehouse
Outside storage Unit: Satoko's parents

+4 randomly dispersed cats

And Hora only knows don ho music because he reads scape and saw the song and was mocking hanachan

works for me

I find it cute how faith-san absolutely insists on having Satoko's parents live in Hora's household. It's slightly less cute though that they would have to live in a "storage unit" (sounds like a shed), while the sneakers would have a whole floor to themselves in the main building :D

Personally, I'm not that thrilled by the thought of him living a "normal" family life, complete with in-laws and erm... hair-pulling kids. I like to imagine him living above and beyond the norms of society, like a modern-day hermit with cats as his only companions (minions?), simply because cats are so much more superior beings to humans. Everyone has a right to their imaginary Hora ::hora:: (On a different note, how awesome that this forum has emoticons for Kaya and Hora!)

Hey, a man's got to have his priorities :|

I do suspect that he's so Americanized now that he has, as they call it, "lost his genki". At this point I think he's constitutionally incapable of doing the "Japanese office jog" or bellowing "OHAYOU GOZAIMASU" to a half-deserted office floor.

Yes they are. You seem to have a superior understanding of the universe.

My version of Hora isn't all normal family life though. Here's the origins:

His ancestors are daimyo or, alternatively, cave trolls and trilobites. He and Satoko met at a drag club, where she was performing as a cow. They've been happily married for like, a decade (aka forever). And Hanachan and I both think that when she gets angry, he has to go sit on the curb with the sodiagomi; he uses this time to play video games with the neighborhood kids. It makes it a little more interesting lol

Edit :(in fact, Hora Horassen family theme song)

I'm just an idealist. I have this image in my pure fangirl heart of a Hora sleeping with his 4 (?) cats - and cats alone.
Then again, I think he's exactly the kind of guy to fall for a woman dressed as a cow in a drag club :P

His ancestors are daimyo or, alternatively, cave trolls and trilobites.

I don't know why, but this theory sounds oddly convincing. I think he's a mix of the three. A noble trilobite-troll ::hora::

Also, I do hope he's not reading this forum because this thread is getting out of hands:lol:
