I chose Yu~ki too. I'm just more familiar with him, but Kazuno rocks just as much.

I know zilch about bass playing as well... but Kazuno is goofy, and I like goofy people. so he's gets it.

I dunno, Gensou, his crooked fangs of happyfrappydeath are kind of charming.

It's kind of hard for me to choose because it seemed Yu~ki could be more open in his bass ability, but Kazuno is in that gothic~esque style of playing and so on for Moi dix Mois, I guess i'm saying I would need to hear a broader range of songs in order to fully decide...Also, in Malice Mizer, they each had some input on the music (i'm assuming) as apposed to Moi dix Mois where Mana is doing everything because it's his solo project; So for now i'm assuming Kazuno isn't showing his true potential PERHAPS...so I can't decide.

It is a somewhat unfair question, who's to say who's better

A better question would be who's playing style do you prefer. I would pick Yu~ki.

I agree, and from that I also conclude Yu~ki as the preferred style.

From a bassist's point of view.. Kazuno. Yu~ki is good but plays mostly single notes at a time. Kazuno's solo was slap bass and 38th notes which is really hard to do. My choice is based on what I've heard and seen. Yu~ki's style is also slower and totally different than Kazuno's. Can't really compare them til they're playing the same style of music.

I agree but most of Malice Mizer's songs weren't as fast tempoed as Moi Dix Mois. I think Yu~ki could be just as capable for as long as he's been playing.

I like Yu~ki's playing better because I hear it more and it plays a role in the music, Kazuno just doesn't get that so I don't have an opinion on him. Like I always say about music, can't judge it if ya can't hear it.

Kazuno's bass plays no role in the music? How does that make any sense? o_O I bet you don't even notice it, but if it wasn't in there, you'd probably hear a huge difference.

I hear his bass in every song. Maybe it's because I'm a bassist myself.. but I hear it fine. o_o

I always pick out the bass (yeah I think it is a bassist thing) I know I always need to try to play basslines from songs I like so I just tune my ear to the sexyness.

This is based off of Dix Infernal only. I haven't heard anything else so I don't really know. It's just hard to explain, the presence of the bass is softer and less noticable, and also since Moi Dix Mois can occasionally bring about just a blurred image of music (this is not an insult in any way, I like it) so it's also a bit harder to point out certain things.
So that is why I have that opinion
