Well I'm glad to see you guys are (mostly) model citizens and not weirdos. "For here" is indeed the normal answer. But in that cesspool known as New York City, they all seem to say "to stay" for some reason. What gives?
and the sewer known as LI as well. and maybe the rest of new york.
because we're better :P
or, to use the scene kid excuse, different.

and barney tells me we're all special in our own little ways.

Same here, though I hardly ever eat fast food these days. When I do get 'fast food,' the person serving me speaks either Spanish or Korean, so they just smile and hand me my food ::squee::

Long Island isn't a sewer....

I say 'for here'. Otherwise it's "regheorhgnerjgn?" and I just nod yes with a smile because my keigo comprehension at a million miles an hour apparently sucks. :|

My dad and his siblings were born and grew up there although my grandparents are from the UK. Long Island's a beautiful place, though. I wouldn't call it a sewer even if it did have a few bad spots 'cause every place has those.

Here, fastfood crew people ask... "Dine-in, or take-out?"

So normally, the response would be dine-in, but if I were to choose only between the two, I'd probably say 'for here,' but only because 'to stay' sounds so damn awkward. :P

I don't even work at a fast food restaurant and I think I've heard "for here or to go" too many times for one lifetime.

You know what? I'm going right now to get a Big Mac, TO GO.

I know it's terrible but I haven't had one in forever, so who cares? It's not going to kill me.
