Or about girls

...oh wait ::meev::

hahahah touche!

I do like his Shu Uemura feather eyelashes, though.

They're pretty snazzy, even if the first picture is a straight up Kaya rip-off

2nd effect? Wazzat?

A band that recently disbanded. Peggy from The Candy Spooky Theater was in it.

I read The Velvet gave a great performance.

especially Girlfiend (which was kind of butchered on the CD release compared to the demotape)

Ehh...i prefer the snazzy gangsta rap beat of CD Girfiend than demo version.

And that screech Dada does right before the first chorus just makes the album one so much more interesting..=)

Don't think they have much contact anymore, but I could be wrong.
The interview (and like, all other interviews ever done with VE) is on my website.

Just type "velvet eden" into google

His voice, on the other hand, is an acquired taste. I remember reading a scaper comparing him to Mr. Bean! Haha. He sounds like a gargling Kaya.

You know, I think that may be the best description of Dada's voice I've ever seen. I always wanted to like Velvet Eden because their music is so interesting, but I just can't stand Dada's voice. =(

See, I've always enjoyed Dada's voice. I suppose it's because I grew up listening to a lot of singers/bands with strange voices, so Dada's voice wasn't that bad.

I've actually grown to love his voice over time. At first I was fine with it, but now I'm totally in love.

edit: Speaking of voices; At first I didn't like Seiji's (Seth) voice at ALL! It really took me awhile to get used to him. There was something off about his voice and it really bothered me. Now I love his voice, but I prefer him in Art Cube and Brain Hacker, he sounds better in those two bands (in my opinion)

Sorry to those rabid MdM fans, but it's true.

Wow, I completely agree. The first time I heard a Velvet Eden song, and heard Dada's voice, I deleted it off my computer because his voice put me off that much! Then, for some reason some time later, I tried Velvet Eden out again. Now I love Dada's voice.

As for Seiji, I love Moi dix Mois but I agree that his voice sounded better in his previous musical projects. I like his voice in Art Cube, but I especially LOOOOOVE his voice in Amadeus. <3

Dada reminded me of Kaya, I guess its because it took me a while to really appreciate their voices. Before I listened to more Japanese music I usually listened to a lot of bands whose vocals are really contrasting to what I listen to now. Now alot of the artists I listen to have quite distinct vocals (Kaya, Dada, Marilyn Manson XD)

But I really love Dada's vocals now.. The first song I think I heard was Ikei Hime and I think I was scared by his vocals... But I got the synths stuck in my head and realized Kalm composed for Kaya and Seileen! So I gave them another shot and I really enjoyed their music.

This is bit of a long stretch, but does anyone know if KALM has revealed what kind of equipment he used back in the VELVET EDEN times, he has this very distinct sound that's on both his VE songs and his demotape.

http://www.myspace.com/liliummana KALM is composing music for this girl, i suppose, is called Ningyō Mana...how original ::meev::

I'm not sure what to think, i'd rather hear these songs under KALM's name. I mean her name and looks ::bleh:: Not very inspiring. Anyway, KALM's music is good as always. He needs to recover his solo!!!

Thanks for the info! The music is great as always, but without vocals it is empty. By the way, if I am not wrong, the lead vocalist is not a girl. I knew this guy some time ago. And he's a member of scape too, but he is rarely seen here.

Oh, no no, but he's a member of scape, runs Doomed Love, and is just an all around nice guy. So I had to say something.

p.s. I sent you a pm! :)

Sorry for the gender-mistake!

Well don't get me wrong, but i didn't mean any bad with it. Musicians needs to deal with criticism, both negative and positive. Even if they happen to be a member for a forum.

...And did i say something negative about his personality? I bet he is nice and other stuff, thanks for the info =)

This is a music focused forum and opinions needs be discussed about musicians, so sorry if i hurt your feelings Jae with my point of view!

The music is good, but the concept and imago seems unstable at the moment.

No no it's understandable. No hard feelings, I just got taken aback a bit, and I'm sorry.

Aw, I may not write very much here, but I do gain alot of insight from what you guys write! =] And I agree completely with you ansem, musicians do need to accept criticism both positive and negative, though I must admit I'm not doing this to get famous, I'm merely doing it for fun (hence the lack of originality in name/image...besides, I want more people to focus on KALM's music he's made for us than our image, that's just a picture and nickname from my personal cosplays is all.) I am glad it's getting noticed though, it makes it all seem more worthwhile. And we do have vocals recorded, they're just in final processing right now and I'll be uploading them once the songs are finished getting mixed down by KALM. He's an amazing person to work with! If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.

@Jae & K-kun: Thanks for your kind words, it means alot to me to have your support in this music project. And I'm flattered it actually is being discussed on -scape- forums...never saw that one coming. XD

Same here. ^^. I love him in M10M but his voice was much better in previous bands like Amadeus. I think he "lost" a part of his voice because of smoking, that's sad .___.;. He has a good voice now to, but I think he isn't able to sing f.e. Tell me truth the same way today than back in Amadeus. That's sad, but I'm glad that his voice is now great too. ::squee::

*raises hand*

You say that this is "just for fun" and that you aren't "doing this to get famous"... does that mean that you have no intention to perform this or market this at all? If so, does Kalm understand that? It seems like he's putting quite a bit of effort into this if it's all "just for fun".
