Perhaps Gackt sounds better, but Tetsu is my favourite.

Memoire DX is a great fresh-sounding album. Merveilles is a very good album too. And the videos are fun, they're so kitsch!

this thread is so old

but I'm going to reiterate what i said last time: gackt era

gackt's not bad but my favorite albums are memoire dx and bara no seidou.

plus, klaha sang the best malice mizer song, gensou rakuen.

x 1000 this! Gensou Rakuen is probably my most played Malice Mizer song on my iPod. ::k::

If I were to choose the worst era, I'll have to go with the Gackt era because many of the songs that I don't like are from that era, like Itsuwari no musette.

They didn't sound to great with Tetsu, but I can sorta blame bad recording equipment for that. Still, I'll go with that one because they didn't make a movie with him.

I dislike Klaha era the most (although my favorite song of all time is Shiroi...the only good thing to come out of that era) it seemed like a hollowed out husk of a once successful band. like Mana was trying to breathe life into it long after it was dead...

really? that's a strange way to breathe life into a band. ::kozi::

I voted on Tetsu's era. The music doesn't appeal to me. But Speed of Desperate is one of my favorite songs, but the rest it...naah...

Its difficult to say what the 'worst' era is. Ithink all 3 era's were unique in their own right and really coloured the band very well. A lot of other bands haven't been able to incorporate all those different techniques and genre's into their music.

But anyways, I loved Tetsu era... There's something about their sound that enchants me and weirdly, it was the first album I listened to, so it grew on me quite a lot. Klaha era was my favourite overall, since I think Bara no Seidou is a masterpiece and the 3 singles that followed afterward were pretty awesome.

Gackt era was good, but it doesn't fufill me as much as the other 2. Still, I did enjoy it and Gackt was a good frontman, but still, sticking with Gackt :P

I love how this thread's typo has never been fixed in its entire 5-year existence.

I voted the Klaha era. Granted, I love the song "Saikai no chi to bara", which is considered klaha era, I don't like much else. The two things I majorly dislike about it though, would be 'Beast of Blood" and "Bara no Seidou".
I need to update this.

The worst era I think is the Gackt Era. They got really big and famous and produced a lot of good work, but the commercial success watered it down a little. No, not because they "sold out," but because it was too awkward. Take an album like Memoire or Bara no Seidou where the tracks all seem to flow together, and then look at Voyage and Merveilles. I'm not saying that those albums suck, but they feel more like giant experiments with different hits and misses. It's almost like the late Klaha Era where every single had a totally different sound.

I like all of the eras, but the Gackt Era feels like the weakest in a sense.
