    I have a hard time seeing the "malice and misery" in -merveilles- and ~voyage~... so I voted for the Gackt Era. The Tetsu Era is my favorite because it just feels so real and intact and true to the original vision. ^_^;;

(NOT that the other eras were crap or anything.)

I didn't like the pop-ish sound of Gackt's music, and I still don't. There are several songs from that era that I adore, but I feel that the overall performance was... lacking... as though the music was straying faaaaar off the path they started on.

.... Which leads me to wonder if it took a tragedy the magnitude of Kami's death to bring them back to their roots? :?

Well, I guess I can understand that. I was introduced to them through the Tetsu era, so I guess I'm used to it. I didn't like Bara no Seidou when I first heard it because of the lack of guitars, but I grew to love it later on. I guess it's that kinda thing.

I voted the Klaha era. Granted, I love the song "Saikai no chi to bara", which is considered klaha era, I don't like much else. The two things I majorly dislike about it though, would be 'Beast of Blood" and "Bara no Seidou".

I hate to say it, but it would be the Gackt era. Only because Voyage wasn't that great and the other eras had more songs I liked than the Gackt era.

Gackt of course. I love Klaha above everything else, and Tetsu has a very mediocre voice, especially in Baroque

I didn't like Gackt era...it was too prissy and just weird... I like a couple of songs on both merveille and voyage but those 2 singles sucked hard.

Tetsu was OK. You have to understand that they were just starting out. Then they tried to 'refine' their look at aesthetic with the whole 'dancey victorian' thing, which was amusing maybe for the first week I like Malice Mizer...then it just got boring. I liked the b-sides for Merveilles and Voyage better than the songs on the actual album.

Klaha's era was pretty kickass. They had a new image, and he fit it perfectly IMO. Although some of the 'fake playing' mentioned on the first pages was still apparent...it just wasn't as painful.

Plus Gackt is annoying. Klaha had style and did a solo thing. Tetsu moved on and became something great, too. Gackt, however...just does the same processed stuff over and over again. He tainted Malice Mizer in a lot of ways.

most of the people liked Gackt's era, because he have such a great voice ...
and also Klaha using his dark side (>< cool)

but I didn't like Tetsu's, I felt in the begining that he's forcing himself to sing!

    didn't like him ...

Its a toss up for me. Its also strange that for someone who likes nearly all vocalists the Malice Mizer vocalists didn't really appeal to me like I thought the would. I like Malice Mizer as a whole but the most appealing person I found from the band was their late drummer Kami.

Tetsu - Didn't really like to do much onstage. So I didn't find him very visually appealing. Some of his songs are okay. I like the song Baroque.

Gackt - After introducing someone to Malice Mizer it seems most forget about the other members and only remember Gackt. Its okay if you like Gackt, but I really don't like people get all elitist over him and mistake some of the Malice Mizer works for his solo-era works.

Klaha - This era had to be my favorite. Some of the visuals between the end of the Gackt-era and this era are questionable. But I like his vocals and his looks. :D
I often find myself wondering about what might have happened to Malice Mizer if they had continued on. So many what if's.

I think that several of their best songs were done during the Gackt era, such as Belle Air. However, I think the vast majority of the songs I hated were in the Gackt era as well. I like Gackt's singing, and I love his piano playing, I just hated all of the techno like songs. Too much electronics, thats all.
