Wow Minikitty, thank you so much for sharing that information ! (the setlist, what he said and what he was wearing), I think it's really cool... I hope he's really doing this because he genuinly loves Malice Mizer and not just to sound cool and make money.

I wish we could see a video of this, I'm really curious !

Ah, it made me really happy too.

Those words made me realize that Gackt's departure from the band must not have been as dramatic and infamous as some articles/opinions make it sound. Maybe he and the other Malice Mizer members had different ideas, maybe they had chosen different paths, maybe they don't talk among themselves anymore. But that dosen't mean they hate each other.

I believe they respect each other as artist, as human beings.

And Gack saying: "[...]with amazing members....." means he cherishes what he went trhough with MM. Right?

The thing is people read Jihaku and think he was talking about one of the other members in the band who said hey, at least we put out a cd. Gackt said someone in the room said it and he then left the band. He did say some things about the members which could absolutely have been true when it came to money. When you first start to make alot of money, you better believe the temptation to spend it like crazy is there, and alot of people do.

He has always said he loved Malice Mizer and actually wanted to go back at first when he left. But then again, I think his solo career is better than Malice Mizer. Malice Mizer is good and more unique than many other bands, but truthfully, looking at each members solo career's, then havent really advanced at their particular instrument or song writing much

Gackts hair looks good like that. :)

Dislike that new song, Setsugetsuka, though. So boring. *yawn*

I take issue with this, but I'm not going to reopen that Pandora's box XD. I think we should all just agree not to talk about this anymore.

I just dont see why everyone is so willing to believe something Mana said over Gackt when truthfully, there is no reason to believe either one over the other. Its not like anyone here is great friends with either one of them, nor were they there at the time, so how could anyone say what actually happened.

Some of our more zealous comrades think they know them. ::mana::

I think a translation of jihaku is a horrible thing to go by- especially an unofficial one. Sure, it's good to get an idea for some things, but with a topic as uncertain as the separation, it should be primary sources or nothing. And really, it's not a matter of Gackt vs. Mana but Gackt's word vs. the word of the other four members at the time (remember the article we found?).

As for performance copyright things, record companies can share rights- that's not so unusual. Gazette, for example, isn't just signed to PSC, but to another company, too (the name eludes me at the moment). But performances need permissions just like a cd or anything else. Protection of the rights of the copyright holders is, and always has been, paramount. I know that's a hard thing to comprehend with media as loose as it is these days due to the internet, but in the professional realm, it's still law. If you look at the end of the credits of shows like this you'll always see the credit info for the songs, and they wouldn't be able to use the names of the songs or even list it without the permission of the copyright holder since it isn't a critical review of the song(s), wherein the only exception to the permission rule exists.

yeah, on officially released things, that's when you need permission. it's fine if you don't release it, just perform it.

You can perform covers without permission, but you'll still have to pay performance royalties on it. (at least in America) Generally bars/livehouses/wtvr here just get a "blanket license" from ASCAP which gives them permission for any songs to be covered in their establishment.

^ To use Flowers's example, ASCAP has so many members, and with a blanket license taken out, the leaser the has permission to use any of the ASCAP member musics they want until their license expires. To continue having official permission to make use of ASCAP tracks, they'd have to renew the license regularly, thus everything is covered as long as they ONLY use ASCAP stuff. If they use an artist that isn't a member of ASCAP, they then have to work out a separate deal with whoever that is or whatever company they're associated with. Having everyone under one large umbrella like ASCAP, though, just makes the process easier for licensing and such.

That's the process in a nutshell at least.

It's GACKT crossdressing for the cover of his June 2009 single KOAKUMA HEAVEN. The song spoofs Japanese hostesses... and the lyrics are nasty... ^-^
