Well, I listened to Beyond the Gate. I have the limited edition on the way, but I wanted to hear it anyways. And here is my opinion of Seth. Some people will probably get mad that Im comparing Moi Dix Mois to Malice Mizer, but honestly, its like it in this sense.

I really liked Juka as a vocalist. He reminded me of his own singing flair with a mix of Malice Mizer era Gackt. I think he had a really good voice and I was saddened when he left. I will miss him in the band.

I was worried about Seth since people were saying they didnt like him as much, but I dont know where people were getting he doesnt have as powerful of a voice. If anything, his voice completely is way more powerful than Juka's.

I like Juka's appearance more, but I like Seth's voice better.

Now, I described Juka as this.

Juka+Malice Mizer Gackt = Equals Juka's voice.

Juka+Malice Mizer Klaha+More power in voice than Juka = Seth.

Im honestly very suprised. If you listen to Seth's voice, especially in Eternally Beyond, when he holds out his notes, Ill be damned if it doesnt sound like Bara no Seidou Klaha. He just has that powerful voice, with less vibrato than Klaha.

And just for funs sake, with all the MM comparisons I threw in. This cd sounds like the equivalent of Bara no Seidou for Moi Dix Mois. It reminds me of it but just alot heavier, and Im definately not freaking complaining. Im definately awaiting more releases with Seth now.

Also, a few more similarities XD this is just for fun, this portion.

Its funny cause people are saying they dont like Seth as much, it does remind me of when Gackt left, and people just didnt like Klaha as much because they wanted Gackt back. It honestly reminds me of this.

And, the way I explained it is just a way to say what his voice sounds like. I cant just deny that it doesnt sound like other people's voices. And Im not criticising him. I think his voice is great.

Seth is basically a more refined Juka. Solid vocals, good death vocals and a better image to boot.

He is Seiji. There's not any rumours, or speculation, or theories. He's just Seiji.

Remember that other people, possibly people whose first language isn't English, will read this and take it seriously...

Yes, you're right... :lol: I suppose it's sort of like everyone knowing exactly who ate everything out of the cookie jar the other night, and therefore there's not any need to bring it up...

Juka always sounded very young to me. He did a good job emulating the pseudo-operatic feeling that Mana always strives for but his voice never sounded as trained or controlled as I would've hoped. Seth sounds older to me. I get the feeling that the vocal style Mana wants is more natural to Seth whereas Juka was consciously trying to push his voice into that range. I also like Seth's look better than Juka's. So I'm very happy with him :)

... but seriously. Am I the ONLY one who's waiting for my actual copy of the album to arrive before listening? :|

I swear Seth and Seiji are the same person. It's just so dang eerie how similiar in vocals they are, after listening to BtG for the nteenth time I put in Amadeus' only full length album and listened to tracks like "TELL ME TRUTH" and "Kyozou no Kami" and I swear its the same guy... Mana must have just cloned Seiji, because I find it hard to even tell them apart at times.

EDIT: Wicked voice though, but does anyone else notice that he somewhat lacks the vocal authority of Juka? Like, in Eternally Beyond he just seems to get drowned out by the guitar and cellos. But when the music dies down, he just seems to take center stage and exhibits a great voice. It's just Mana and K holding him down with power chords.

presentation -> Seth wins

singing -> Seth wins

As for live performance, i can't say yet. I hope Seth is energetic, screams in a nice way and don't lose control of his voice very often.

I don't miss juka like gackt though. I think Gackt is much more charistmatic and better singer than juka. besides, M10M is not a band like MM is. Juka is just a solo project member... I don't want to sound mean, but that's the truth afterall.

So yeah, i like Seth better.

I touched on this very briefly in the review thread. There are some audible problems with the way Mana mixed the album. Kazuo mentioned the weak snare drum. "Unmoved", by and large, is just a really bad mix job overall. And you're right, Seth's vocal track sometimes has a tough time coming to the front through everything else that's going on. From a general arrangement standpoint, he could also have thrown in a couple guitar solos. Oh well. I can't see Mana ever actually bringing in a producer. It is, after all, "Mana Project" :roll:

I'm waiting..I can't wait much longer though^^
I haven't received any updates, besides the message that it shipped out, so I'm getting a little anxious to hear it now.

I am also awaiting my copy before I listen. I contemplated not but...I might as well.

Right now I'm too addicted to RENTRER EN SOI's "PROTOPLASM" single to care right now, to be honest. :p

I like him. ::cam::

Seth is a good singer. I described him as "mellow and ....." I don't remember the last part, but yeah...he's good. His voice blends good with the music.

I also like him because we have the same vocal range, and I can sing along easily. :)
