So I was randomly looking for some reviews on Malice Mizer albums, cause I wondered if there even was any, and found THIS for Merveilles:

This sounds like someone ripped some video game music onto a cd and took it to karaoke night then without the random japanese singer knowing, they recorded him singing over the tracks and then took it home, made many copies and sold them to teens. Some of the music is ok, but it just doesn't go well with the vocals. It sounds like the singer is trying to swallow a bar of soap while singing.

Yeahuh, random Japanese singer alright ::gaku::

You can find a bunch of mini-reviews on amazon.co.jp but most of them are from much later, when the albums were already a known quantity. The Klaha-era singles have a few contemporary reviews.

Seems cool, but unfortunately I don’t speak Japanese, apart from kana and up to about N3 Kanji
I’m learning though!!
Thanks for pointing it out either way. Seems interesting.

EDIT: There’s also some English reviews I found but I’m more interested in the Japanese ones, plus there’s much more of them.

I read this and my first thought of him in those mega photo shopped ads for "beauty treatments". He's there for the moms to keep them looking young too.

Well, the balding treatment ads featuring him are still on display in the trains...

Was the theme バーゲンで買ったもの XDD
Haha, no, but maybe I will use that sometime... :P

Reading Quincy Jones' Vulture interview. Seriously, the guy is the history of modern music. Ignoring the gossipy parts his comments on the state of modern music, yeah. As someone who had a bit of training with a person who knew Quincy and also Prince, this is worth a read.
