This is regarding the flawed member status/post count system. Is there anyway to make the posts that are deleted from the random thread/"what are you listening to" not be deleted from the post count? I don't want you to have to go and manually change post count up, thats to much, but is there an easier way? because i'm very saddened, due to the fact that I would be senior member if not for those flaws in the system. Thank you for your time.

That's not a "flawed system", it's an "intentional feature" ^_^

why?

Because post count doesn't matter. I have a huge post count, and sure, I lose some of it when the random thread is restarted, but I got majority of it by making posts in the threads that matter, by adding substance to the forum. I come here to discuss music, not hear about how peoples parents don't accept them listening to Jrock. Boo hoo. :(

EDIT: Not saying you do that.. just.. some people do. >__>

Historically speaking, we used to have more member ranks than just two, and so new members would sometimes come and chatter away in the random and listening threads till they moved up a couple ranks. That's what inspired me to start rebooting the threads. We don't want to reward idle chitchat per se.

A lot of the members who are really cool and respected, contribute great stuff, and have been around a long time still have low postcounts. That doesn't make them less important to the community because they only have one cross. The senior crosses are fun and all, but they're not that critical. It makes me kinda :| to see so much weight put on a silly little gif beneath one's username.
