Yes, a poster and I think I remember hearing that the slipcover was different as well. Both have the image the CD was promoted with (Mana dancing with Mana) in the first press edition. I'm not sure what the second press cover looks like.

the poster is the extra good with the first press, but it not "comes" with the CD, it's just a gift given in some shops like all of the first press goods (posters, message CD, etc).

Yes the first press comes with the slipcover of the two Manas and the regular one with the Shinimana-sama piccu

ah, okay.
I ordered it, and was confused because it didn't have a poster :-/

Knave, where did you order your copy from??

If you want the poster, wait for J-XYZ... I've noticed that they usually get in the first press posters to Midi:Nette releases after the CD has been released... I'm sure they'll get 'em in time!

I did order from JYZ...

I don't think they offer first press extras too often... at least I've never noticed them. Try looking for the poster there in the future! ^_^

The first press definitely comes in the slipcase and the second press is basically the same CD just without the slipcase. I ordered mine from CD Japan and got the poster - but it seems to be pot luck with them. I remember some people who ordered Shadows Temple from them in good time but didn't get the poster and I ordered Artificial Hallucination long after it had been released and still got the poster. If you are really into extras then Third Stage seems to be the best option. I just find their payment methods very inconvenient.

Before I left Japan (about 2 weeks after [NOCTURNAL OPERA] release), I checked the major Indie stores in Shinjuku and I found like 2 first presses of it, but with about 25 of the second press (with Mana swaying the scythe). But on the release (althought it was at the end of the day) there were about 40 first presses all lined up at CLUB INDIES.

I hate Like an Edison cuz I was 8:30pm (after they closed) and I wanted to buy some [N.O.]s (trust me, a lot) but they rufused to open the door and let me make a very fast purchase. They insisted that I was "S.O.L!....and go away!" Well, then I walked to CLUB INDIES and they were extremely happy that I bought (a lot) of [N.O.]s. But yea, anyways, my points was. I didn't have a great experience with LaE. Also, when I asked if they were willing to sell any MdM or SS autograph boards hung on the walls they looked at me as if I said something extremly rude in Japanese. Then they asked around and this overly-hyper guy comes running out and looks in the poster "pile" behind the counter and finds the [Scars of Sabbath] SIGNED poster, pulls it out rolled with a pile of others, and then rips it in half. Crazy bastard......

Yep, I've ordered from CDJapan and ordered Shadows Temple way early...no poster...and Nocturnal Opera way late...and got a poster. O.o so go figure with them. Third Stage is definitely the best choice since they guarantee you'll get extras. CDJapan doesn't, neither does HMV... I just wish they did CC payments. I don't ever feel like fussing with an international money order so I take my chances with CDJapan. :/

Didn't you get the slipcase either? The poster is an extra, so you may or may not get it but if you ordered first press you *should* have the slipcase version of NO.

Wait, they wouldn't let you in after they closed???? The travesty!!!

If I was working at a record store and it was 30 minutes after we closed, uh, there is no way I would be letting you in. Especially since you don't seem to realize it may be against policy, drawers are all counted out and sales are in, it is dangerous to open for a single person banging on your window after you close, etc, etc...

But on top of it all... Japan seems very punctual and rule abiding. I wouldn't expect them to open no matter who was at the door. And sorry to rant on you, but when you posted about it last time I wanted to say it too. Just further pushing the sterotype of the loud and forceful westerner o-o/

*edit* And why did he pull the poster and rip it in front of you? Just to be an ass? That is fucking hilarious.

I don't think those signed stuff is for sale. They are usually gifts to the store after an event is held.

Gensou... if someone had persistently asked to come into my shop while I had had a really long fucking day and wanted to go home and get some dinner and I nevertheless let them in out of the goodness of my heart cause they were foreign and apparently stupid and didn't know what closing times where cause maybe they didn't have them in the part of the world they came from but they then went on to nag me about stuff that wasn't for sale for fucking ever and wouldn't just leave I would have done worse things than rip a poster in front of their face.

Just saying.

edit: ah right, this didn't happen at the same time... now I really wonder how long you nagged them for them to freak out on you like that...

Gensou, I've been working retail for quite some time now, and trust me, it is highly doubtful that we would let anyone in our store 30 minutes after closing... By then (at least in my store), the registers have been counted, final numbers have been processed, paperwork has been started, etc... And maybe your Japanese verbal skills aren't exactly 100% accurate for everyday Japanese conversation - you must have really offended/angered/upset that nervous fellow for him to react like that! :o However, a retail employee destryoing their merchandise/marketing/etc. seems really unlikely to me...

And Knave, if your copy of NOCTURNAL OPERA has a slipcase, then you did indeed recieve a first press version, just not the first press extra.
