Ok well I watched the movie last night... and for the record, I didn't particularly enjoy it... the best thing was imagining what face young Mana must have made while watching it xDD

As Mana says he first saw it when he was young, I guess I understand that he still remembers it today...
As someone else said above (I can't remember who, sorry), his "affection (?)" for this movie is most certainly due to the fact that it's a fond memory of his past, and not due to the quality of the movie...

(just like I have a fond memory for movies that counted in my childhood, even if every one says they are crap xD)

Anyway, I'm curious about the Paradise cocktail and I hope Mana will share the recipe afterwards. I also think it's cute that he's making an alcohol free version for underage distun. ::squee::

BTW I didn't think Showgirls was so bad. Certainly no worse than Basic Instinct.

Actually I sort of think Mana's... "unique" tastes are one of his defining personality characteristics XD He seems to like a lot of things from his youth that may or may not ever have been good.
I kind of want to try out some of his spoooooooky board games, but they're all a fortune now and no one would play them with me XD
I'm with you, I like how Mana still likes the stuff he used to like way back when. There's no shame in still liking or not liking certain movies or certain foods if that's really what you like/don't like~ I think a lot of people still genuinely like the things they liked as kids and not even in a nostalgic way~ I still love B-Horror movies from the 50's (I've liked them since before I can remember), Scooby Doo and all this other stuff that I was supposed to grow out of but never did~ I like a lot of the movies Mana has talked about liking, though admittedly not all of them

And I would totally play the spooktacular horror board games with you if we lived anywhere near each other ::k::

If he shares the recipe for the alcohol-free one, I'm totally trying it and reporting back XD (I hate alcohol) I tried his games, I can try his drinks too ::meev::

Yeah, it helps if you know Japanese XD Apparently "normal" people riot if you try to get them to play a game that's not in English, even if you translate it. I speak from experience ::meev::
Did you know one of Mana's favorites is now available on your phone?

.... IF you live in Japan >_< Whoever wishes to earn my acclamation will download it and send me a copy XD

Oh come on, "Paradise" doesn't compare to your B-horror movies and Scooby Doo at all! XD Those are actually cool and fun, and at the very least, nerdy. You know how proud I am of my love for Spongebob and ancient shows, and shows and movies I loved when I was little. I don't think I've ever been embarrassed of what I liked when I was little, ever. I'm not sure why one would be.
But this whole conversation is based on opinions so whatever.

Cerceaux, you're amazing.

I'd flaunt my love for "Body Heat" (1981) though. I saw it by having someone secretly rent the VHS for me since I was only like 9 or 10 years old and I needed to see every Kathleen Turner movie. But that was a piece of art and all the sex scenes weren't gratuitous at all and were so well-done (and much left to our imagination). Yes, I was thinking this way when I was little. I guess I have a hard time accepting love for "Paradise" since it was so blah (I saw it) and just wanted to show off the girl naked to make money and rip off "Blue Lagoon". I think "Blue Lagoon" was better with the "return to innocence" aspect than "Paradise," it was definitely more touching and needed the characters to learn everything for themselves to survive. Here they're just running away from evil goofy Arabs and having awkward moments with chimpanzees.

I do like what he said in that old interview though: "Accepting your age is being supressed in accordance with the trends of society, and causes any real feelings of living to slowly ebb away. It's horrible when that happens." I wish more people realized that.

@Geisha: I always heard about it when I was little, but I never saw Showgirls. I saw a couple of clips on youtube and it didn't seem horrible, but I guess the director was ashamed enough to hide his name sometimes XD I wonder why it was said to be so bad though, now I'm intrigued! I like seeing "bad" movies in general, haha, at least they're funny. But maybe this one isn't so bad?

You didn't like Basic Instainct ? I liked that film. The plot is well writen. In USA, the film was not so enjoyed by the critics but in Europe, yes. I think it was a marvellous film.
My boss was not of that opinion. She said it was just a porno. She was shoked when she watched it. She was the only one of the whole office to think that way. We all liked it. Michaël Douglas and Sharon Stone showed us their great potential of acting. They were fabulous in that film.
Well, tastes...

Just downloaded this onto my phone like a boss  If you type in the name "Zekkyou! Obake Yashiki Ge-mu" (in Japanese characters, of course) into the app store in Japanese you can download it, provided you have an iPhone or an Android~ I've give a whirl later and see how it is! It looks pretty awesome so far ::squee:: I might post screenshots if there is an interest ::shifty::

(The name just means "Scream! The Haunted House Game")

Really? :| I tried just following the link from the official website and it was like "YANQUI GO JOME". I'm on Android, is that what you used?

I did it on the iPhone, but I just went through the app store... I set my phone operating system to Japanese though, maybe that's the problem? I'm not sure how the Android app store works, but I don't think it should have region limitations... Can you type in Japanese on your phone? If not, just copy-paste 絶叫!おばけ屋敷ゲーム into the App Store search text box d(^_^o)

It doesn't work even when I copy-paste, I think they completely block access to Japanese apps >_<
I can't turn my phone to Japanese either, only English or Espanol. To quote a certain cat hoarder: ::hora::

What kind of game is it anyway? Is it worth downloading if you can't read Japanese?

Just download it, who cares XD I downloaded it but I haven't gotten around to playing it.

ok ok fine I'll play it... here goes...

OMG WTDFS)DFDSIF XDD this is scary!!!!

Well, at least in one part of the game, you guide your ball through this maze and you're not supposed to touch the walls or the traps. If you do... YOU DIIEEE. I won't reveal what was scary about this. Man, why can't I win XD
Just explored this other area and it's totally creepy. You press this button and random freaky things keep popping up like every time, I don't want to spoil it! And there are lots of shrieks XDD I haven't done all the things available though.

Go try it, it's fun and weird and morbid ::meev:: It reminds me so much of Mana's old interactive website!

Too bad some people can't play it. Hohohohohoho...

EDIT: I played some more of the other games. Eep.

The reward is the game itself ::batsu::

I'm not sure about the candle one. I think all of these things are creepy, especially that counting woman! Eek. No, I'm not a wuss. :B

I think maybe the game is supposed to be an accessory to the new boardgame:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B008 ... d_i=489986

Which says "Smartphone-linked remake". So you guys are only having half the spook-tacular fun you could be ::meev::

Things to do tonight: root my phone so I can get Japanese apps ::batsu::
Other things to do tonight: email Mana and ask him to weigh in on spooky boardgames XD

Coincides with Mana's list of things to do:
1) Make new album
2) Use the money to buy all the spooky board games
3) Lure fans back to his apartment with the promise of meeting Kozi and forcing them all to play spooky board games with him
4) Repeat

"Yes, Kozi will be here any minute~ Why don't you roll that die again while we're waiting?" ::mana::

If Kozi's so close, how come I don't smell booze?
::mana:: "ROLL IT"

Dear Blog,
A lot of strange stuff happened when I met Mana. Strange and befuddling stuff.

I went to the Versailles live.
It was their final live before they cease activity,
so it was deeply moving,
And you could really feel the emotion at the live.

One of the MdM members took a picture of these flowers I sent to Versailles (smiles)
There were tons of people in the vicinity taking pictures of the flowers,
but it would be strange if I was right next to what I sent them...
Huhuhu・・・

After the live was over
When I went to go greet everyone in the dressing room, we continued to talk about body-con...
But still it was nice. (Laughs)

So after that, how about the coming Moi dix Mois Dis infernoX live on the 29th?
I will get my power up as I eat blood dripping "meat" all the way until the morning as we have a heated meeting...
And have discussions in the flow of blood stained darkness...
And meet up with KAYA-kun for the first time in a long time having aesthetic conversations...
And think about things having to do with going back to the origins of Visual kei...

And then stylishly? Drink a light cafe late...

Anyway,
Kamijo had a good live!
He prepared a good seat for me with a superb view where you could see straight from the front. Thanks!

How about we have an aesthetic conversation Part 2 some time!

So that next we won't have a derailment (Smiles)

Also,
Coming up is Moi dix Mois December 29 Dis infernoX!
Since this day will be a big year end party gig,
It's ok not to make a big deal out of how you would like to look in the darkness!
Because...
It's a party!!! Freedom!
It will be wild, sexy, pretty, and erotic!

Also on this day only there will be something you have probably never seen before xxx!
If you miss it you will definitely regret it!

huhuhu・・・

Let's drink alcohol and get fired up straight from the very beginning BABY!

Mana

I like this part -> "And think about things having to do with going back to the origins of Visual kei... "

That would be fantastic! that remember me this:

JaME: Some time ago you released a single composed by HIZAKI, Is there any other artist with whom you like to work?

Kaya: I would like to work with Mana-sama, (laugh) 10 years ago I do not work with him.

(source -> http://bit.ly/WuxuDz )

What do you think guys? there are a posibility in this world to see a new project/band? MALICE MIZER with Kamijo and Kaya at vocals? or a new project? Mana x Kaya? Kamijo x Mana? Kamijo x Kaya x Mana x *put a name here* ...
