Nobody is asking the serious questions, how is the cross slapped on? Is it glue, thread, or just the pure power of persuasion keeping it there? Those are the things that really justify the price.

Zoom In !! Saturday had their Harajuku segment and showed people wearing lolita. A little of Pageant played while they talked about Mana and Moitié. Video is at this Twitter link
    https://twitter.com/yakkun_Sang/status/1083856654469292032

Funny that since this aired, Mana様 has been trending on Twitter in Japan. All it took was one photo on a Saturday morning show. Considering what it took to get that other ex Malice Mizer member to trend on New Year's Day, that's pretty good.

Seven hours later and Mana's still trending on Twitter. That must have been a little unexpected, but nice. Lots of people saying they were happy to see him on tv and to see Mana's name on Twitter.

Much much later, Mana様 is still trending on Twitter, and hit over 10,000 tweets by people. At one point it was also in the top ten world wide. That's impressive.

It seems the person posting a little bit of a choker in their photo was doing a little misdirection. Everyone that I've seen received the same things, with a few color variations. Nice!

With all these meet and greets coming up, do you guys think the Tanaqrew are keeping Mana's hands in solid crystal oxygenating hand-aquariums?

Just wanted to mention that I got two pairs of the new Moi-même-Moitié arm covers and they are really nice and fit really well. They have a decent amount of stretch and also hold their shape. Plus the lace is gorgeous. I will have photos once there is enough sunlight to take them.

    A) let's try to keep this at least sort of on-topic to Moitie clothes since this is our news thread for it.

It was more of an obtuse jab at Mana's role in Moitie being reduced from the master of all things 'M' and even though he is a producer, these days it feels like he is being treated as a dancing monkey that's dragged out for events or to drive sales.

You're not missing anything. But in that particular episode the the guitarist was performing a sponsored event and the insurance policy required him to wear solid crystal oxygenating hand-aquariums. Mildly humorous antics ensue.

Mana is a grown man, and I am sure he is totally capable of deciding what he wants to do and doesn't do when it comes to Moitié. As for his meet and greets, he has said many times that he loves meeting his fans. He has also said recently that he has wanted to travel more and see more places. With these events, he gets to do that and be paid for it. It was pretty obvious that the reason he did Seattle was because he wanted to go there. He was mentioning wanting to go to Seattle again long before the event was announced. Finland was also another place he wanted to visit again.

Mana is doing the same thing he use to do when he owned Moitié and was more active. He is just returning to doing what he did years prior to Moitié being sold, with the events in Japan and attending conventions overseas. And it's great also for the fans who want to see him. Not just Moitié fans but also fans of his music. And he knows this. It's a good way to not just promote Moitié but also himself as a musician.

I think most people here would like this thread to continue to be about Moi-même-Moitié news since it's Mana's creation and the 20th anniversary of it, and Mana's effort in creating elegant gothic fashion and keeping it going is getting praise from people in Japan and beyond. He is still very much involved in it and working to make it last into the future. It's part of his world and he has said he wants to keep his world going, to make it last and have it known worldwide.

I'm sure he was during the Maglaia days when he was free of his manager and the master of his own destiny, but he may well be contractually obligated to under the new management. At any rate, his livelihood depends on their success.

Well he certainly isn't going to say the opposite. Apart from what is obviously his, a lot of his tweets tend to feel like a press release or regurgitation of something from Moitie.

    etherealspirits wrote:
Which is good, but it feels like he is being treated as a prop and shipped around from event to event to be dangled in front of the unwashed masses. When you factor in travel times, rehearsals, dressing, meetings, interviews, after parties etc, that leaves very little time for him to actually enjoy or experience the place itself, for himself. Mana has no obligation to share his experiences, but it is telling that all we get is a Moitie-authored con report, in contrast to Mana's extensive Madoushou and Digital-Madousho diaries, or even daily-life tweets.

How exactly is he keeping it going when the brand was going into decline, being overtaken by competitors, especially in the Chinese indie scene and is now no longer under his ownership? It sounds like Tanaqro deserve more of the praise.

That was evident in the past, when everything that Moitie did had consonance with Mana's greater creative endeavours and his personality and aesthetic was visible in what they built and created, but Moitie now feels fragmented and disconnected from that, something is missing in the gestalt of the brand.

    etherealspirits wrote:
Again, it is his livelihood, it would be unreasonable to say anything different. Merely existing is hardly a lofty goal.

I can't really judge too hard about Moitie being Mana's jooooob now... we've all got one XD And it doesn't seem like he's sold too much of his soul in the process.

Do you think so? The only thing I've seen out of New Moitie that struck me as odd is the Some Sort Of Girly Drink dress, besides that it seems like they're sticking pretty closely to "greatest hits" kind of stuff.
