Hey,

I want to know if there's any way I can get a hold of someone at Midi-Nette. I've got some Moi dix Mois and Malice Mizer, and I work at an American Radio station. I'd like to play some M10M and Malice Mizer on the radio, but we need expressed written permission from Midi-Nette. Does anyone here know what can do to get this? I feel like a lost puppy...

Thanks!

Mail them? They might have some sort of contact information on their homepage.

I've actually emailed them twice, but NO RESPONSE.

Aghh!

Maybe I should call them...

I speak enough Japanese to get by (notice my signature), but I don't know if I know enough to ask a question like that.

Then again, they've GOTTA have SOMEONE there that speaks English. Deshou?

I think someone works there with VERY limited English (never know who that might be).

Ive tried the same, no replies when it comes to business agreements in English. However, Japanese emails work, but about a week for it to arrive.

Thank you, Gensou.

I love your nickname as well as that word.

I also love the song Gensou Rakuen...

"The end of dream."

No, they don't GOTTA have someone there that speaks English. Good English is a pretty rare skill in Japan and not one that's usuallly needed by Japanese band/label staff. They must know someone who speaks English in order to get the FC stuff translated, but it's likely that person isn't a member of the regular staff. Probably just a part-time job. The regular staff would probably know a little bit if they finished high school, but not enough to speak it well. Best to assume that if you call them, the conversation will have to be in Japanese.

If you are a member of Mon+amour International maybe you could try asking them for help, although it is a very long shot. They speak / write excellent English.

I am NOT a member, and I hate that.

I want the Platinum membership, but I can't afford to pay 10,000 Yen per year. That's rediculous.

Okay,

I just sent a message by way of email to Midi-Nette.

I used my poor language skills, Altavista's Babelfish (YUCK), and Jim Breen's WWWJDIC to compose the message.

If anyone here knows good Japanese, then please tell me what you think of this:

SUBJECT:私はアメリカの無線局のMoi dix Moisをしてもいいか。

MESSAGE:

I had to use my legal name... YUCK! I am SO getting it changed when I become legally grey.

I guess no one here speaks/reads Japanese.

Well, it's either that or no one has Japanese encoding installed on their computer.

Or maybe you should give people a bit more time to reply... and time to help you. I'm sure they have more things to do... they'd be doing you a favour after all no?

You're right. I'm just not yet used to the speed of this board.

MMDN moves pretty fast, and I've been on it almost everyday for about a month now, so this board feels kinda slow.

Sorry.

You are comparing a board for an artist who's fanbase is in America and has a huge following to a board about niche Japanese goth bands? o-o;

Not to mention, we lost a good amount of our members (although most of the frequent posters have rejoined since anyway...).

About your Japanese for the email. DONT SEND IT. It doesnt fully make sense and its in informal format. The first sentence is wrong.

It should be "desu." not "aru" (unless ur an unlivin object.....

Have you contacted ur manager (if u arent one) about this? I, personally, find sendin an email to Midi:Nette and waitin for a haste reply for somethin so big as to have their products debut on an American station is a bit.....

Maybe it was not meant to be. If it were a major company, I would see (they would probably disagree to anyways) nothin wrong with it. You cant just put a band like Moi dix Mois on the radio without a 4-hour background explanation to the viewers.......especially if its a country station (no offense).

What kind of position are you in at the radio station? If you’re a temp or something of the sort…that may be a reason they’re not rushing to answer your emails. No offence to you, of course.

The radio station is actually run by a votec class at a highschool. I have cleared it with the manager. He likes the idea of playing Japanese music on the air. All we play right now is Slipsuck and EMO crap.
