There is the translation of Paris live^^
Enjoy it and excuse my poor english please-_-"
Last date of the european tour "DIXANADU~Fated "Raison d'être"~, this concert had to be exceptionnal. On the one hand, because this live was recorded for a future DVD, and on the other hand, because they have to make up for the semi deception that has been Beyond the Gate tour, that many people have found frustrating for many reasons. So the band had to carry out an exceptional show this evening, something they succeeded to, even overtaking expectations!
Live Puissance DIX !( french phrase which means a very powerful thing)
After the opening of the doors at 6:30 p.m., A thousand of people fill the Elysée Montmartre. A very good influence consedering the non-existent publicity and The Gazette live at the Bataclan the day before.
Around 8 p.m., the lights switch off and a gothic, almost ecclesiastical atmosphere is created, as the members take their place one by one under the cheers of the crowd, which will increase over and over again, the climax being reached when Mana appears.
Seth apears at the begining of Metaphysical, the song that starts a setlist mostly based on the last album of the band, DIXANADU. An excellent song that introduces very well the public into the band's universe!
And then, fisrt observation: We are surprised by the quality of the sound! We knew that the live will be recorded for a DVD, but this evening, all the instruments were audible. The two guitars and the bass, everything is clear, even the voice of the vocalist is audible without encroach upon the other instruments. In clear, the first positive point of the evening comes from a huge work of the sound ingeneer.
The second song of the live is Exclude, introduced by the guitarist K, who serves as an intermediary between the band and its public that night. And there is the second observation : It wasn't just one song but actually the totality of the last album that is verry well-prepared and sounds better than in studio. Seth shows his hugetalent of vocalist: precious little of false notes and a lot of emotions in his chant, that was not audible in the studio versions.
When the song ended, K, obviously verry self-confident this night, excite the crowd shouting "Are you ready to scream???" or "Allez bande d'enculés!!!!"( let's go bunch of motherfuckers), at which the public answers a big "OUIIIIII!!!"(YES) - French people and english language, a great love story!
Besides, let's talk about the spectators, which is the big negative point of this evening: very disappointing and sometimes really disrespectful with the others, not hesitating to insult, to hit, even to trample on the others to be better placed or to get a little pick of the band, but also not so far from the lethargy during the songs, just moving hands in rythm with the music.
Seriously! when the band headbangs in rythm, and when K screams to the public to sing the songs, this one remains inert and have a reaction time just spectacular to sing the choruses or to answers the gimmicks of the band...
Thereafter begins Night Breed, one of the first compositions of the band, a track from Shadows Temple, just awesome to make the public move, considering the bit of vocals and its swinging rythm, at the limit of elctro in some moments.
And in this moments we realise at what extent Mana's musicians get important in his band. Of course, there are Sugiya and Hayato, respectively bassist and drummer, very in retreat in comparison to the others, but playing perferctly their scores, with powerful bass lines and a the perfect control of the double pedal of the drummer. The two of them make a good impression and have an essential role in the success of the show.
K side
There were also a lot of comments on Juka's contentious leaving, and even more on his replacement by Seth, but we have to admit that the comparison between the current vocalist of Sherow Artist Society when he was in the band and the new frontman of Moi dix Mois is eloquent. In terms of charisma, attendance, and even vocally, the former vocalist can't vie with the new one. He take up the stage with a really impressive elagance, his vocals are pretty much powerful and extremely diversified, with a huge vocal range very well used.
We just have, to realise his talent, to listen to the new versions of the songs extract from the two first albums. And even if on CD we could remain sceptic, Seth confers them on stage knew faces extremely different. Last Temptaton is sublimated by his vocals, that confer to the song a new melancholy and a new extent which wasn't that present on the old versions.
Moreover, He does not hesitate to use his death voice that accompanies very well K's one : an excellent complement that gives a successful result. We still don't know where Mana found such a talent, but the other guitarist has get a such important place in the band that the vocalist is from now on essential to his aura.
Diabolically charismatic and 2 meters elavated, this one is the great shwoman of the evening, and even sometimes stealing the show to his two sidekicks, casting black glances on the crowd at the same time that he plays (of course it's easier in his case than if you meter 1m40), but especially, communicating with the public, even making the effort of learn sentences in french. The climax of communication is reached with Dispell Bound, where the guitarist asks to the public to repeat the choregraphy, so D, I, X and DIX. Anecdote of this evening, he will also use the occasion to show his new guitar.
But we cannot talk about Moi dix Mois without mentioning its headmaster, Mana. All dressed in white yhis night, like his acolytes (Well K just wears a white top with black fishnet, but goog job), he have the talent of charming his public thanks to an excessively attractive mystery and a charisma that differs a lot from the other members, using a very sober acting, almost contorted at times, fitting his attitude. His guitar play is very fine this evening, even if it's clearly less spectacular than K's one. He also takes care of showing proudly to the crowd - going incontrollable- his jeunes filles, taking place in front of the stage, the cross illuminated.
Because of the DVD or because the public was there, we just feel that the leader of the band is glad to be there, and during Immortal Madness, this one takes a camera to film the crowd, which suddenly wake up trying to be loud as far as possible, for a moment that, without doubt, will be an excellent bonus.
Mana is still present as ever in the band, but from now on he forms an indivisible solid trio with K and Seth, with an indisputable charisma. This two musicians have take an important place for the success of the band.
Apocalypse now
The concert "ends" with two master pieces. First Vizard, one of the songs extract from the first albums sings as it is (means original version), and the public does not hesitate to repeat "Vice! In Vice!" in chorus with K and Seth. Seth, smirking, secondly anounces the last song, Forbidden, it would be credible because he puts so many emotions in his voice during this song, so impressive that it would be an excellent live end.
But the lights don't relight, even when Hayato finishes throwing his drums "skins?", and after five long minutes during which the spectators chant the name of the band, they come back with Xanadu, for sure one of the more touching song of the show, with its beautiful melody and the variations of Seth's voice, very nice.
When the song ends, Lilac of Damnation begins, and then comes the finale, absolutely apocaliptic, the excellent Deux Ex Machina, an awesome song in live, where K finishes nearly kneeling, the microphone in his hand, screaming " Criez pour nous!" (scream for us!) to the crowd who answers immediately participating to the song.
So the concert ends in apotheosis, and after the traditionnal throwing of the picks, the lignts relight, and in only 1h40 of uniterrupted show during which the time goes by so fast, Moi dix Mois seduces Paris.
We can say that the band is forgiven for the semi-deception ( for the majority of the public) of 2006 tour, and this despite a setlist mainly based on DIXANADU, which is nevertheless powerful in live and Mana's band makes an excellent impression this evening.
Increased by a huge scenic presence of the three principal members of the band hardly stained by the public, this date will, for sure, give a really indispensable DVD.
