Just wondering if anyone of you have ever played the Metal Gear Solid games for playstation.. That stuff really makes you think. Just thought it'd be neat to get to know other's thoughts on the games, especailly MGS2.

They were extremely fun and stylish, but overall they got a little too deep for their own good.

All I know if I want to play the Japanese version or European version of MGS2 so I can find the soilder named "gackt" and beat him up a little bit :)

If you liked the first MGS, you'd love the second one. And I've heard that Twin Snakes wasn't as good as the orginal, not really sure though, I've never played it.

Twin Snakes was good. I enjoyed it. It took me a bit to get used to the controls though. It's not far off from the original. As a matter of fact, I can't really think of anything that was different, aside from a few different voice actors. Naomi didn't have her accent anymore, and I think Meryl's voice changed too. But I played it like a year ago, so I don't quite remember.

I always thought Psycho Mantis was one of the coolest game characters ever created.

OH man!!! I LOVED the first Metal Gear Solid to death!!! I show equal loving to Twin Snakes also!!!
But as for Sons of Liberty, it is great but I found the envirnoment annoying, because it's always the same old indoor environment. On top of that, there were too many codec conversations. This is really frustrating because they could have replace 5 minute codec of conversation by like a minute of movie cut scenes. One last thing, the story of SoL was too out there. I guess that is why I love the first one more because the story is more tangible. :)

Anyway, Snake Eater is coming out on November and I can't wait to play it. Here's a link for some of you who are interested.

I like Metal Gear BECAUSE you have to think. It´s good to see that there are Games were you have to sneak through Shadows and must not go for a Rampage like in Ego-Shooters.
But i prefer "Thief" more than Metal Gear, because of its medieval and gloomy Atmosphere.Ok,you do not get Tons of Cutscenes and an epic Storyline, but the Gameplay is more breathtaking.

Anybody else here who plays "Thief" The Dark Project ?

I love MGS because I love the silly things you can do when you want to joke..... I mean falling because of birds'sh***, smoking, etc. I really enjoyed sons of liberty because Raiden is so sexy to me... Even sexier than Snake in a way lol...
But more seriously it is a perfect game, it is quite a unique game...

Yes, I really like that fact that you have to think. The ideas suggested go far beyond the story line itself, and apply not only to the game but to every day life if you put enough thought into it. Showing that America is really nothing but a front controlled by others applies to a lot of things. Its not only the country that is a front, but many people today appear to be something that they really aren't. I think that's one of the messages its getting across. There's really a lot of philosophy put into that game if you read up on it.
