He's so cute in interviews I dont get how can people think he's a stuck-up or a cocky person...

I don't understand it either but those people have probably never made the effort to read his interviews. I suppose if you don't like a person's music or image you don't feel inspired to read his/her interviews but some people still seem to feel entitled to pass judgement on his character.

He IS joking around, right? I really can't tell if he's being serious of ubergothy-on-purpose-to-be-silly sometimes.

...and I'm still scared.

I agree - it certainly is a handicap. I think a lot of the misunderstandings and discussions about what are or aren't his intentions could be avoided if more people were able to read his interviews. This one definitely answers some questions.

I totally agree. And in general all his interviews explains 1 thing or another. Even at Paris, many questions could have ben avoided if everybody could read mana interviews easilly.

He is a very special person, an entity in it's own... unless you read his own explanations you usually never manage to guess what was the intention and/or the reasoning. Or you think you do and then he explains totally different (like about Pageant and NO).

I think his is being silly in all those captions, or at least trying to. There's also a caption that breaks the stereotype of Mana never talking with feminine speech "ダー　疲れたわ." Really, I've seen him use a variety of speech patterns based on what short samples I've gotten requests to translate here and there, and most of those seemed like him trying to be funny.

As for whether he's serious in the interview I translated? さあ。。。

Just found out men use "wa" too sometimes...

He must be being silly. I mean, when people in america talk about the "Uber satanic motorcycle of gothic destruction and DOOM"...they usually don't mean it unless it's a really dorky Vasquez character or something.

But then I look at the Moi Meme Moitie logo and...maybe he isn't?

Yeah, certain dialects, like Osaka-ben, use 'wa' rather frequently for men. However, the giggling and mannerisms on that page suggest otherwise to me. :shrug:

I know he's being silly on that page.... XD just I can't tell in the interview. He's so deadpan about it. Mana isn't my biggest interest, however, so I don't really worry about him too much....
