Lack of PV's

Anyone know exactly why Mana hasn't arranged any promotional Videos for Moi Dix Mois?

He has come up with alot of beautiful music, & I think it would be nice if we could see them act it out in a PV form, instead of just live.

On the other hand, Malice Mizer didn't exactly get into PV work until Merveilles. Do you think that Mana's just hanging onto fan's anticipation, or has no feel to do any videos at all?

Well, there could be numerous reasons as to why Moi dix Mois doesn't have a PV. I'll list a few. ^^

1. He's saving it to make a PV for the third album, because that's what Malice Mizer did. (I highly doubt this one, though.)

2. He thinks it would be too hard to put Moi dix Mois' image into a PV. Like the graveyard for the Shadows Temple booklet, the ring of fire with the people in a circle around it in Dix Infernal, Mana holding himself in Nocturnal Opera... all this would be hard to put in a video. So maybe he's still trying to figure out he would be able to put it together.

3. He doesn't want to make any PVs.

4. He likes to watch us sit and squirm and beg for him to make one.

I, personally, don't really want a PV. It just seems selfish to ask for one, after all he's done so far this year. :/ Appearence in France, a new album, two new singles, Moi-meme-Moitie overseas, possible European tour... and plus, when you think about everything he has to pay for, a PV would be expensive.

-Payment for Juka, Kazuno, Tohru (and Shadow X?)
-Payment for Moi-meme-Moitie staff
-Running Moi-meme-Moitie and keeping it open
-Running and organizing Midi:Nette
-CD production
-Midi:Nette staff

Just for a short example.

Not to say anyone who does want a PV is bad; I'm just saying there's things to take into consideration. Whatever the reason is why there hasn't been one yet, I'm sure it's valid. Mana's such a visual person, it is a bit surprising Moi dix Mois doesn't have a PV.

And this is just me, but I honestly can not see how they would make one. >_>

I guess that puts it more into explination, since alot of money is needed for a video to be shot/editted/divided/ect..

But it's weird that Mana hasn't, since it's his whole design of everything that gave him fame; & PV's are a perfect way to show that off.

XD That's the loop hole, I beleive. Maybe it just doesn't scale out quite yet, & he's waiting until it will level, so he can still be the rich-man-girl.

Mana-sama probably created Juka & Kazuno in his basement using Gackt & Klaha DNA.

Exactly... I mean the true purpose of "promotional video" is to get your song on the TV so people here it and buy the music. That is how it works here in the US ne? And of course, they usually end up selling them for money down the line.

Same goes for Japan obviously so maybe he doesn't want to be on TV (but I would imagine that would be his choice in the end if he wanted it aired or not), but he would still definitely make moeny off of PV sales... and of course being in Japan he could get away with selling *one* PV for 1500-2000 yen

His PV dvd's for Malice Mizer were pretty expensive.. & he seemed to sell alot of those.

It may also be that he's waiting for the right song to fit his image of a PV, since he's sucha perfectionist. (he seemed really picky of how the stage was set up in the DvD release of his concert.)

lol... Well, I don't think a PV is in the expensive things to make category.

Mana should be making more money now than he did when he just had MM on Midi:Nette anyway. No expensive and extravagant tours, no special made costumes, no sharing of the cd + dvd profits etc... Plus he has 3 bands to make money off on the label now, dormant or not, AND he has european releases to make money off. Granted M10M probably doesn't sell as much as MM did so the company earnings might not be as high as before. Still don't think they'd cut down on a PV if Mana wanted it though.

Moi meme Moitie I would think is a separate business but even if it isn't it should be doing much better now than it did before just by opening the international sales.

Let's say he was in the planning of a PV... how would we know of its release? Would Midi:Nette have an update over its television debut? Or would they just wait until they are able to release it on Dvd?

There may be a few things Mana-sama is not telling us.

Mana shot some video footage in Paris after Japan Expo. I think we're all hoping that's what they are but it looks more likely that they're for Moi meme Moitie promotions.

If a PV was going to be aired it would be announced on either Midi Nette's or Mana's website. We'd definitelly know.

I think that when Mana decides making a PV;
he needs to make a VERY good one...
Every PV's in Malice Mizer is somewhat special
and unique in its own way and I think Mana knows that..

I can pick quality over quantity any day... and errr.. maybe another silent movie; perhaps?

I'm pretty convinced at this point that although they translated it as "filming", they just meant they took pictures.

From being here, I get the sense that MmM is THE Mana thing, and MdM's just sort of there to do...something? Maybe keep up the fanbase so people'll continue buying clothes.

Also, the music's a way to reach out to the foreigners (you did notice how quickly the store became available to foreigners after the music did, right?). I'd been hearing this opinion floating around for a while now, but I never really put much stock in it until I came here and everyone was like, "Schwarz Stein?...oh, right...I think I heard them once."
Plus the music store in 0101 still puts all the MdM releases under "Malice Mizer"...like there's no "MdM" section in the entire store and the portal to Manaland is only an escalator away...

Just a thought, but I think MmM is a continuation of the Malice Mizer world and Mana's way of making things how he wants them to be. He's done that with music already. Maybe a PV isn't important?

That is something I hadn't heard or thought of before, Faith, but you do raise a point... Mana seems more inclinded to do things for Moi-meme-Moitie than Moi dix Mois? :/ It's possible.

The Schwarz Stein comment was a bit surprising, though. I knew and loved Schwarz Stein long before I knew about Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois or any of the other members' projects. They were the reason I first got into Malice Mizer, actually. o_o I remember going to New+Vogue+Child and reading everything, then showing one of my friends the site. She asked me if I also liked Malice Mizer or Mana (since she's a huge Gackt fan), and I just reply with, "... who and what? o_O"
