Ha'ya all!! with only a couple of weeks left til the US presidential election, i'm just wandering which candidate you guys are going to vote for. (i'm also interested in opinions from people outside US also)

As for me, i'm voting for Kerry!! Since BUSH push us into a deficit and will probably propose a draft. :)

Thank you for your time.

Nice poll ^___^

Ah, have to note that this is bordeline on forum rules of posting political discussions. It *must* be kept clean or I will have to lock it.

*note: Anyone who picks Bush is getting banned :P

Personally, I'm not voting because I think both are horrid choices for President. Kerry flip-flops constantly on things he says and Bush has lost control of what he had planned for the middle east. I'd like Clinton back, if I could choose.

Btw MonoChrome, Bush said in a debate "There will be no draft."

Bush has said a lot of things that were not true.

As for draft, you can bet your ass they would turn to it if Bush decides to invade *another* country or two before things are cleaned up in the areas he already has.

and apparently there's some new draft bill that's been up before congress that would require people of both genders to serve

Either way, I'm an only child and the last one to carry my family name. Otherwise the family name would die with me, if I were to die in the war and last I checked, they can't send ya then. But in any case, I'd rather be arrested. I'd just flee to another country.

You do realize that people put up bills in Congress to make a political statement all the time? The bill in question is actually from some wacky Democratic congressman trying to stir up trouble, and no politician in his right mind would ever vote for it. I see that guy making the rounds on the talk shows all the time and he just uses that bill to get publicity.

Agree!!! Bush criticized the number of times Kerry vote against tax cuts, but actually some of the numbers are actually pretty misleading. Because those bills that Kerry voted against on are like tax cut on tabacco and stuff like that.

Also, thank you Lejun for pointing out the draft policy. :)

I vote Bush. Sure he has lied, but so has Kerry. That's what being a politician is all about, lying. Kerry just seems too stupid to me and I don't like him at all.

But I'm not much of a political person really.

Kerry seems stupid? Bush can't even open his mouth without putting his foot in it almost every time he speaks.

You can say what you want about Kerry (I am not saying he is anything special myself), but you definitely can not say he has anything over Bush in the intelligence department.

A fictitious exert from a typical bush speech... "Um, err, well, the people of the united states have built this country up from the ground for the past thousand years"... Crowd: Huh? *looks around at each other and the floor*... Bush: Let's get those terrorists! GO AMERICA!!! Crowd: YAAYYYY TEAM!!!! WHOHOOOOO!!! e-e

He plays off of his strides against the war on terror in which he has blown *amazingly* out of proportion and placed tons of irrational fear (and behavior) in the people. He also hides behind false patriotism... as in, he is all about this country and the people when he is one of the main people screwing it into the ground.

Sure politicians lie. Some lie to defeat the other candidate and possibly do better for the country. Some lie to get in and do much much worse and continue the lies until it is too late...

Kazuo, I agree with a lot you say!
Though...if I could choose...I might choose Hillary instead of Bill, no? :)

Overall, I think they are both idiots. Bush has just seemed the lesser idiot to me. Plus I'm Christian so I like that he atleast stands up for us, seeing as how its become "cool" to bash Christians now.

Either way, they're both idiots and I don't really care who wins.

GO ROSS PERO!

I think it's sad that we're forced to live with a two party system. No other major party is ever allowed in the presidential debates, people just think Republican or Democrat are the only real choices. It's sad that our elections have come down to voting for the lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is still evil.
