Just by looking at the hair I'd say it's Hora XD (made me think of Perfect Garden) But the face looks like Kaya's, I'm pretty sure it's not Ken -.-

you're right that things did get glittery - very glittery - but did things stay glittery? i feel like things got glittery and then they lost their glitter. then again it depends on what you mean by glittery.

I have a theory about this. There did use to be an excited, bubbly and exuberant quality to Kaya when he was excited about what he was doing and he was pursuing his dream. That pretty much flopped when his chansons flopped. He was so excited about them but his fans really didn't follow him into his dream, and I feel after that the spirit kind of went out of him. His rhetoric got tired and his work got tired. He started looking for themes he could manufacture sellable songs around rather than singing out of true inspiration, and I think we all could feel it.

Gotta say I'm really really satisfied with the length of these 2 new songs, and well, although the preview for Infection is not showing pretty much anything, at least I can tell KALM didn't go nuts writing something like Sugar Rose this time xDDD

I'm liking Infection~ I don't really care for Taboo though, it's too dubstep for me ^^; But these do sound a lot more like some of his pre-Queen songs~

I agree! I don't mind "Taboo" as much as you do because it did make me want to dance and headbang. I love electronic music already so Kaya's always doing it right for me when he does anything electronic.

And "Infection" sounds sexy already. I can't wait to hear the rest of it ::squee:: His songs make me feel so evil <333 IMO a lot of my favorite songs (ex. Kagami Oni) have this air of "insanity" or "teetering on the edge" about them. I'm not sure how else to describe it, haha, but I love it.

Here I am with my review of Taboo:

1. Taboo

This song is well made. And with well made I mean it's done with care. Ken Morioka made a good work here. The intro and outro of the song are my favorite beat part. Of course, this song has some, how can I explain it, homo erotic feeling to me. Now I read Kaya's description it makes total sense. Kaya's voice matches the melody and all in all, this is the best single in a long time, and I mean LONG.

2. Infection

Holy Kalm!. This track is flawless!!!. When you listen to it, maybe you will come up with: VELVET EDEN?, and that's true!. Kalm made a melody anybody could compare to the best old velvet eden songs. It's dark, and the beat starts rising until it goes out of control. Kaya's voice is so powerful in this song, it makes me want to know what the lyrics say. At some point before the chorus you can listen some sort of Velvet Eden bell effect of a song I can't recall.

I can picture this song in a live show, and it must be savage. With slow to crazy movements. Excellent song.

3. For the vocaless versions, I think it's nicer to listen to Taboo. Infection without vocals can be a little irritating.

Finally, I believe Taboo is a well achieved work, entertaining and with fierce song pieces.

If I feel like adding something else I'll edit this reply. Have any of you guys already listened to it?

i listened to it! these are some cool tracks. there's a lot to digest about it musically. his strongest single probably since his first. i wish more of his work seemed more wreckless and in your face like this.. my only real problem was with infection; it takes quite a few listens to really grasp the structure of and it lacks melody. it's interesting.

edit: infection is so cool though!

Listening to it now for the second time after arriving home with the CD :)

I really really like TABOO, it makes me wanna dance like crazy. KEN MORIOKA never fails to amaze me, his sound is really fitting with Kaya's voice, so they should work together again!

As for Infection, I guess I'll need to listen to it more times, because I'm finding it disturbing that I like more the Kayaless version of it than the original... KALM's composition is flawless as always, but Kaya partly screaming throughout all the song... I don't know. It's the first time in any Kaya release that I'm more fond of the single than the B-side, although being a KALM composition xD

PD: the single comes with translated lyrics, if there's enough interest I can write them down...

Sorry, I didn't count you in ::gaku:: (I know you're in japan^^)
I couldn't wait, so I downloaded it ._.
This will sound reallyreally bad but....I think Kaya sort of ruins TABOO ::shifty:: The instrumental is AWESOME, but the other version, I don't know, it's something with his vocals, they feel kind of empty. He doesn't sing with emotion (in my ears), feels like he's just supposed to sound "pretty".
I knew I could count on Ken ::squee::

I listened on youtube...

The music in both songs is definitely awesome.
I thought the lyrics and vocals in Taboo were good, if standard Kaya sound.
But in infection...ugh...I'm not a fan.

So I listened to them on Youtube and I love "Infection."

I totally agree with Decadent Child:
It's dark, and the beat starts rising until it goes out of control. Kaya's voice is so powerful in this song, it makes me want to know what the lyrics say.
I love it when Kaya's songs have that dark element in them, as if the song/mood is going out of control. "Infection" is so sexy too, gah, I love it.

I can picture this song in a live show, and it must be savage. With slow to crazy movements. Excellent song.
I totally, totally agree. As I was listening to it I was imagining how it would be to dance to this in a club, it would be awesome. I WISH so much that I could do that, and I can already picture it.

I like Taboo too, but I love "Infection" 100x more. "Taboo" is a little too normal for me. Faith told me that "Infection" is about male prostitution ::squee::

If anyone can translate I'd greatly appreciate it! :D

Here's the (fucking) translation xD

TABOO

White light that breaks into pieces and spreads
The pulse accelerates and echoes

As the scenery changes, I close my eyes,
drown in the sound, and think how far I should go
I'll keep holding hands and go until I reach the end of the world

Don't say it out loud because it becomes a lie if you do
Intwined fingers tingle warmly

Kiss my neck
Shaking world that collapses without making any sound
Beautiful emptiness falling from the sky
Nothing exists here

The scent of taboo

Wet skin
Touch me gently
Close your eyes and come closer

Everything that I trusted loses its color and will be reborn
Reborn in the light

Break it apart insanely and make scars that never heal
That's all I want
Let's hide somewhere and love each other
Immorality that quivers and makes tiny sound

The scent of taboo

The broken pieces are so beautiful
Can you hear the noise of the world falling apart?

Kiss my neck
Shaking world that collapses without making any sound
Beautiful emptiness falling from the sky
Nothing exists here

The scent of taboo

Let us forget everything as if it was a dream
To the end, to the end, forever

Let's throw away everything I have been protecting
Forever, forever, unwavering
