Was it just I who was disapointed at Awilda in total? (Kaya's look, the song). Awilda must be the worst song Kalm ever composed.

I believe you or nobody can say things like: It's the worst thing, total disappoint, etc, because it's only how you felt it, not taste in general. So, It's not the worst song Kalm composed, it's just you didn't like it, for whatever reason there is, but never because the composer failed.

That kind of goes without saying though. Do you really think it's necessary for people to put "IMO" at the end of everything they say on the internet?

Well, not in everything, but you are not jebus to assure things not everyone shares. I don't know how it works in your culture, but in mine, you must show respect at least for your surrounders opinions. I think Kalm doesn't even know the existance of this forum, but, well, saying it's the worst song Kalm ever composed is something only Kalm could say, because it's ambiguous. LOL I don't even know how to explain this the better XDDDD. Iskanderia, just understand in my culture it's indispensable respect and expressing your point of view in the form: "I think that Iskanderia is a whore" is way better than just saying "Iskanderia is a whore". I mean, who the hell you think you are to say that!? ::bleh::

Well, when I wrote that, of course I meant; IN MY OPINION. Some people might find Awilda to be both Kalm's and Kaya's best song ever, I just wondered if there are any others who agree with me or if I'm just the only one who's deaf and can't hear the beauty of that song. (it seems many thinks it's a great song) And I love Kalm's work in general, he is my favorite composer but I really don't get Awilda...

No it isn't.

Um, since it's a forum, it's implied that we're discussing our opinions. :|
To point it out constantly would be superfluous.

I didn't like it either, I'm right with you :) But the live footage in the promo video makes it look like a song perfect for lives. Otherwise I didn't think the single was dreadful, I don't have anything negative to say about it overall other than it didn't grab me.

And I was also a 100% sure I heard; batoru.... That was like the highlight of the song, and I heard wrong XD

After more listenings I have to say its an ok song, but compared to what both Kaya and Kalm have done in the past its not the best, still good though. Like Draconian Doll said I imagine it makes a great live track though.

I don't know, I wouldn't call it their worst song ever, I had a huge probelm with the piano in the beginning of Paradise Lost the first couple times I heard it... That piano part is still my least favorite thing that Kalm has composed to date. (But the rest of the song makes up for it, so I still listen to it) Awilda was a catchy tune for what it was and I listen to it every now and then. I'm hoping it's a good song to see live, I'll find out on 9/9/2010 when I go to his oneman ^___^

Does anyone else think his popularity is dying in Japan? Because in the past, I have bought the ticket pretty much on the first day I could and still got a horrible place in line, but this time, I'm #25 o_O And I put off buying the ticket for a while because I kept forgetting.

There's piano at the start of Paradise Lost? :|
I'm positive it was pizzicato and bowed strings at the beginning of that song. Unless there's some version I don't know.

I can't speak for everyone else, but when he first went major and released Chocolat (which I love, by the way. It's one of my favorites), I don't know but that was like the first time I was introduced to the "Kaya smile", and boy did it freak me out! ::meev:: He's been using that ever since. I miss the darkness and moodiness. Hyakki Yagyo (or however it's spelled) was stacked with it and it's my favorite work from him to date.

And... I kinda feel like he's going a bit too diva. ::shifty::

So, umm, I have a question, but I didn't want to make a new thread to ask. I hope it's okay to ask here.

Does anyone know anything about that song Night Circus that Kaya preformed with Kaleidoscope? Somehow I don't really think it is one of his new songs because I haven't seen anything about it anywhere. So I figured it could be a cover... Any idea about it? :/

Kaleidoscope was a live band for a night. There's a report about it here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVVUUOxj ... ure=search

^ I actually saw that from the link you posted in GPKism thread a while ago. So thanks for that. :)
Tbh I didn't really find their talking interesting, I would've prefered written report. :/ But it says it's his new song. If it was his new song, wouldn't it be logical that it would've been mentioned somwhere else, too? I mean, that live happened quite some time ago (in May?)...

LaCarmina and her friend always seem very ott and elitist; the way she talks and acts... It gets extremely irritating sometimes. But if they're reporting on stuff I'm interested in then whatever.

About the song; I think it was just a session song that they wrote exclusively for the live, but it would still be interesting to see it released.

I'm not sure about Night Circus, but I'd take anything La Carmina says with a huge pinch of salt. A lot of the time she talks complete nonsense.

Night Circus is definately one of the Kaleidoscope original songs. All songs of Kaleidoscope are written by the bassist of Sugar and are not released yet.

I see... I hope it will get released eventually, I'd really like to hear the full version of it.

LOL true. To me, that guy just seems like he's trying too hard to act that way and therefore very unnatural. They really aren't as amusing as they think they are. :/

hmm...is there going to be Awilda dvd?

Yes, It costed 4200 yen and was able to preorder only at lives. It will be shipped to the people in early november. I would be able to get it but I hadn't the money, it's pretty expensive. :/
