I have a hard time pronouncing "Gackt" just like that, so I say "Ga-ku-to" I have no idea why it's so hard for me ^^; As for Malice Mizer, I just pronounce it "Malice" (like Alice with an "m" in front) Miser" (like they call Scrooge in A Christmas Carol). Not because it's right or anything, just out of habbit.

I don't really see how the Japanese way would be more correct, as they just have a hard time pronouncing western sounding words.
I mean, the correct pronunciation of Fanatic Crisis, for example, wouldn't be "fanattiku kuraishisu".
But I can see how people would consider my pronunciation incorrect, as Mana probably intended Malice Mizer to sound a bit French.
And those who always try to follow the Japanese way of pronouncing, what do you do when it comes to band names like Schwardix Marvally, Gill'e Cadith, Verfe~gorl, Se'ikspia, Madeth Gray'll and Vall'na racill :? ?

And in the end...does it really matter o_O?

Well, they have a hard time with certain things, not everything. They are perfectly capable of saying Marisu Maizeru for example if that's what they wanted the band to be called. But it's not that they pronounce it Mee-zer because they can't say My-zer. They pronounce it Mee-zer because that's what they want their band to be called. Which is fair enough I think... I mean, they should know their own name o-o;;;

But if english speaking people want to say My-zer then fair enough too I guess... people do that all the time with french names and german names and well, any name that isn't english (or the other way around). That doesn't mean that it's correct though just that people naturally pronounce how they know to pronounce.

I agree... it's a very awkward, unpleasant sounding word. I really hate it. It's so snippy and harsh. No flow at all. More of an utterance than a name.

Klaha - Kla-ya (before I knew how Jp. phonetics worked, but it stuck.)
Gackt - Gat, trying to put in the "k" sound is awkward in English.

Moi dix Mois - Mwa di Mwa
The "s/z" sound on dix is dropped because it comes before a word beginning with a consonant. If it was Moi dix Heures, you would hear the "s/z". Same with Mois, plus they are both masculine.

I'll say Klaha a lot of different ways depending on who I'm talking to. I talk really fast (in doing to I also laugh at myself) so somethimes Klaha will come out like "Klahahahhah".

When I'm lazy I say Clark.

When I first said "Gackt" I was all like gak-t... like a gun. My friend pronounces it gea-chet. o_o

He used to write it out in kanji (and occasionally still does). He writes it as 魔名, which roughly means "evil name". XD

i've always said "kozi" like "cozy"....can't help it..

i'm like the others...when im with english speaking friends or something like that...i just say it how its looks in english...but if i'm around other fans i say it the japanese way..

if its in a language other than english or japanese i try and say it that way...unless its french...i can't pronounce french words for my life...

I usually say these words like they are pronounced in Japanese, but more casually and not with an accent. At first, I did say "Mwah dee Mwah", but then I heard fans screaming "Mwah dees Mwah", so I'm just sort of confused now. It's hard as hell to name the bands you like when you can't even pronounce their name

Gackt is Gackt, as in the interjection used when you're severely and suddenly frightened/disgusted.

Even though English is the mutt of language, I'd rather not have weird accents put into the flow of it or interrupt it. The reason I don't say "Oh, that is so kawaii!" Feels weird, sounds weird, is weird.

I'm quite picky, aren't I...

I pronounce "Gackt" as "Gakuto" because I think that it sounds less like an interjection. I just think that it sounds very ugly in English.

The first time I saw "Közi," I used German pronunciation, since it has an umlaut, so it sounded something like "curtsey" (for lack of a better phoenetic spelling). But now I pronounce it as "Koji."

I don't really know how to pronounce "Klaha." I just try not to say it out loud very often ^__^;.

"Mana" is just "Mahnah," right? O.o

In correct French 'dix' is indeed pronounced as 'dees' and I can't turn on my speakers right now, but if I remember it correctly Mana's gang themselves pronounce it as 'dees' aswell
