I didn't think much of the original book. Too much filler

I felt the same way about The Haunting. I liked the movie MUCH more than the book. The film version actually had ghosts, amazing atmoshpere, and someone that I didn't like got decapitated in the fireplace by the stone lion. The book was very psychological, but there were no ghosts or anything actually paranormal. Everyone just had a "feeling" that something was wrong.

Hellraiser was on around midnight last night.
Fucking. Beautiful.

That and it's first sequel (Hellbound) are just two of the most artistic, visceral and aesthetically gruesome movies i've ever seen.
You gotta love Clive Barker. :3

I couldn't check the guide, because my mom was asleep and had the remote, but thanks. It was quite funny and interesting.

It's a classic. Me and my old (gay male) best friend obsessed over that movie for a while. Quoting it all the time and such.

Masters of Horror: The Fair Haired Child ::gaku::
Chiller Channel has been airing a lot of these recently (too many commercials though, and stupid content edits).

It was kind of a trip down memory lane, because I watched it years ago with some friends I never see any more. :(

着信アリ (One Missed Call). Scariest film I've seen in a while... but the ending was just weird. And the alternate ending was even funnier

YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST TIME EVER! Hellraiser FTW!

OF COURSE <3
I purchased a copy of The Hellbound Heart and I can't wait to read!
I find the whole mythology and plot of the series *minus films 5-8 ._.* to be quite interesting and fun to watch unravel. :D

Bill Hicks ~ Revelations

"The world is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. The ride goes up and down, around and around, it has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly colored, and it's very loud, and it's fun for a while. Many people have been on the ride a long time, and they begin to wonder, "Hey, is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us and say, "Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we... kill those people."

I'm watching Avatar (the series, not the movie) on the insistence of a couple friends and I'm 4 episodes in.

Guys, I don't know about this.

I don't think it's worth watching, but I'm not really into that sort of thing. Not even just the pseudo-anime-thing, but the whole plot.

Not a fan of ~*~*MAGIC*~*~

My main problem with it is not the pseudo-animeness (though that's a little annoying) but rather the fact that it's for babies.

I read fantasy, so magic doesn't bother me too much on its own, but I like fantasy for grownups, which means that it doesn't have tons and tons of over-the-top fantastical elements. I don't like stuff with level 99 wizards and elves and talking animals and shit.

Avatar doesn't have level 99 wizards and elves but it might as well. It doesn't have talking animals, but it does have a flying six-legged bison.

Also, I don't know how many Children's Jokes I can take. I mean, I'm pretty immature, but come on.

I don't know. We'll see. I'll give it a little more time.

@Iska: You've seen the show it's based on, right? It's an American anime made for Nickelodeon. ::gaku:: M. Night Shyamalan can get cheesy as hell too.

@Zen: It is. That photoshoot was golden for Mana. ::squee::
