Yeah, my general question, did you ever wrote a fanmail to some of the -sacpe- artists [or any other non-scape artist] ? Have you done something special, like a nice design, or did you add a gift?
And did you ever got a response, or something to your letter [my question also includes the mails through the artists hompages]

Or do you think fanmails are silly, and you shouldn`t waste your time [and the time of the artist] with stuff like that?

Tell me your dirty secrets

Hope my thread is on the right place here, happy posting :)

I've sent a happy 30th annyversary mail to Yoshio Takayama, and this picture to Kazune (brain hacker).

but just because I like trolling, so leave the artists alone!

I once wrote a fanmail to Kozi through his homepage wishing him happy brithday, and that's about it. I was going to write one to Kaoru **Dir en grey** and send a pretty necklace that I made, but I didn't since I stopped listening to them for a while, and he'd most likely throw it away or something.

Nope, I haven't sent fanmail. I don't think it's worth it. They're probably not going to read it, I probably won't get even as much as a "Thanks for suporting" card. It's pretty much not worth it unless you KNOW you're going to get something back.

Not to any scape artists, as I'm not really big fans of any of them except Gackt.

I did send on to J (ex-LUNA SEA) though. It was just an email about how he inspired me to become a bassist and how I wanted to thank him for it. I also asked about where I could get J's signature t-shirt which says his little motto "Wake Up Mother Fucker!!" on it. J responded about a week later, saying this and that about how he was happy that he could inspire someone who lived so far away, and told me how to order a shirt from him.

I suppose it was easier to talk to J because he actually speaks english pretty well. I found it awesome that he took the time out to respond to me and help me out.

Wow that's so cool that he responded o.o' I've never written anything to any Scape artists/non Scape artists myself but I would like to :) . Its just that I'm so nervous!! X_X Sometimes I think its a waste of time but sometimes I dont. I think it depends on who youre going to send it to...But I did read about someone getting a letter from a certain someone. So I guess its not impossible for the artists to read and respond. *goes back to work on drawings* :P

By the way, did anyone get a response from Klaha in that project thing? Just wondering >_> *is like 2 yrs late XD*

No, never sent fanmail to anyone. I've left a myspace comment on Helloween's myspace but I doubt they read their myspace :P I think I just said something like good job with the music and looking forward to any future releases. I was going to ask about a North American tour but already 80% of the comments on everything of theirs where people screaming COME TO NORTH AMERICA.

J's a really down to earth guy. He loves his fans, and doesn't really put himself into that "musician pedestal". Even if you read his journal on his site (www.wumf.com) he's really down to earth.

@Kazuo: That's cool! J sounds awesome.

Ehhhhhh, I sent Kyo (Deg) a letter a few years ago. Back when I was *heavily* into Deg, lol. I think I basically wrote that he inspired me and that he's my idol. Well, was my idol.
I also drew a pic for him, chibi form . . . looking like he wants to kill someone. Eh. =X

I also gave chibi drawings to KISAKI and Riku when I met them at AX last summer. They may or may have not been happy/embarrassed to recieve such things. I would have liked to give them flowers, if I could. Oh well.

Aha, I don't draw chibi things all the time. ::meev::
I draw 'anime-ish' mostly. I drew a decent pic of ASAGI back in June . . .

I've sent a few emails to Mana and Moi dix Mois, mostly about my thoughts on releases and concerts. I don't expect a response, but I know they get read and that Mana appreciates the feedback, so it's the thought that counts.

Does he really read them? I've sent him several in Japanese through the MdM OHP, last one on his birthday. That's cool if he actually does.

I can't say I know for sure Mana himself reads everything, but in the Madousho he's indicated he does, and in Malice Mizer he commented he read all fanmail diligently. He's thanked the fans for feedback on albums, etc, and has made comments in regards to letters he's recieved in the Madoushos a few times and also has prompted us to send him thoughts on certain issues. He reads the entries for all of the Madousho contests, because he selects the winners. (Unless, as a friend jokingly suggested, he picks them out of a hat. XD) So at the least, he reads Mon+Amour mail.

I send the project members mail sometimes to make them feel loved. <3 ;) After I saw Moi dix Mois in Munich I sent them all letters thanking them. I don't know if they read them, but I can only assume they do. Who wouldn't read their own fanmail?

I've sent fanmail to Kozi, Kaoru (deg), Satsuki (RES), and sent gifts to Kaya and Hora when Schwarz Stein was around. I think I may have fanmailed Mana as well in the past, but I can't recall it right now. I never got a response however, but nor did I really expect one.

XD I wrote a letter to Kozi through his website too, I wrote it in totally mangled, incomprehensible Japanese and it was so dumb. I've also written letters to Hora and Gackt but I didn't send them.

Mostly though, I don't want to waste their time -_- haha, i'm so considerate

Same here. I start writing but then I'm like "He'll think I'm a weirdo..." or something XD. Then I'll stop and write it over....and the cycle just goes on and on. I'm so shy o.o'' What should I write about? The music? Similarities in hobbies? How much I love him (like artist wise)? I don't know TT_TT

Haha, when I wrote a letter to Margo Harshman (I didn't consider that one to apply since she's an actress) I just wrote about whatever. I probably came off sounding really weird, but I bet everybody does if they really like the person they're writing to. I don't remember everything I said, but some of it was just mega pointless.

Hmm, I wrote to Kaya just to let him know that I support his new music and I think it's great that he's still in the scene..and some other stuff.

That was like 3 days ago or so...

Also, I wrote to Akira Sudou and told her how I respected her as an artist and how she made me want to learn to brew my own beer. lol She responded like a month later saying thank you for supporting and that home brewed beer is the best tasting kind. Haha.

That was kind of cool, I still have that email too.

I wrote to other bands too, but that's only because they're friends of mine, and we hardly ever talk about their music.

I think if you hold musicians on that musicians pedestel and treat them like they're god's gift to music, then you might not have such a good chance of getting a response.
