Yes, but he did it A LOT, got several threads closed and was probably warned a few times [/wikipedia]'Citation needed'[/w]

I feel a rip in the fabric of scape. ::gaku::

No but seriously, it's really weird how fast this thread divided the members. xD

THIS~

Most people on scape break the rules from time to time, including you.
Einherjer wasn't ALWAYS trolling. Most of his posts (and you can go to his profile and look at all the posts he ever made) were regular posts.

Also, some of the things said in scapechat are gross and rude, and frankly stupid. IRC is a pretty popular thing, scapechat isn't private in any regard.

I also feel that if he's asking for another chance, he has intentions to not get banned again.

tangent:
I personally feel that Scapechat shouldn't be using the name Scape if it's not going to be moderated with the same rules.

I believe that some people in the US are unable to do so because they don't HAVE maps...

Your last line reminded me of that :P

it's not about proportions [a lot of good posts let you do trollnig], it's about quantity [he just went over the top]

anyway, I don't care about this matter, and I wouldn't have answered, but I felt some kind of aggressiveness in your post.

Yeah, I am being a bit aggressive. But not in a hostile way.
I just feel really strongly about this.

If he's asking to come back, then why not? It's not as if the things he did were unspeakable. And, like I said, plenty of scape members have acted equally if not more crude in scapechat, which IS associated with scapeforums (obviously) and is a public chat.

Half the time he was incredibly random or a bit vulgar. I'm not saying he was breaking the rules but it was very irritating, so because of that I'm not really interested in him coming back :/

Actually, it's no longer an issue, because the name was changed to "StanChat" a few months ago.

Scape chat has nothing to do with any of this, so why it's being brought up I have no idea other than people are feeling bitchy and want unfair ammo to take low hits. It is indeed a 'private chat' as logs are not posted online and for a reason. Therefore, it's not a viable source for attack in my book.

Let's look at the facts here a moment:

Faith mentioned that only one of his last 15 posts was questionable. This is because all of his other indecent/flaming/trolling post/topics were DELETED to begin with. Einherjer makes a topic, a topic no less, specifically aimed at flaming another member, and is let go. Sure, everyone makes an occasional post that crosses the line, but we don't do it at the frequency, nor do we make whole topics on the subject, as Einherjer does.

If Einherjer's unbanned, so should Orchid and Zealous Veil. After all, they only made ONE post and were permabanned. There's a double standard in here somewhere if he's unbanned and they aren't.

Ningyou made more than that. THAT was below the belt Kyuu.

Anyway, I'm with Holylampposts on this one - I think this thread should be closed because what else is there to say?

I only brought up scapechat to point out that people are flip-flopping on the issue of being gross. ::blowup::

Not really. If you think the two situations are comparable beyond the fact that all three of them have been awesome forum contributors, you don't understand the situation that led to Orchid and Zealous_Veil's banning.

It killed me to ban those two. But they literally asked for it. They started trolling because they didn't like what -scape- had become. And they did it for a long, long while; if you think it was only one post you were missing something. Several private chats with both were had on my part.

The reason they started trolling hardcore in those posts before I perma-banned them was because they intended to leave and thought they might as well go out with a bang. That is why it was not a temp ban. They never asked to be re-admitted. Why should they? They didn't like it here anymore. Which is a incredible shame, because they contributed a lot to the forum. I did not show them the door; I locked it behind them after they exited.

Einherjer, however--I've never had to warn him, and to my knowledge neither has Flowers. He's not intentionally trying to disrupt/rebel. He's just got a weird sense of humor (I can think of several others who have the same, and have been banned then re-admitted). If he is asking to be let back in, it has always been our policy to assume good faith and give people a second chance.

I remember Flowers warning him after he made the Gensou Rakuen thread in main D:
and in the recently deleted random thread where he was trolling XD

As if having some of his stupider threads deleted immediately wouldn't serve as a warning? ::meev:: I think I've also actually warned him via PM a couple times.

Anyway, I'm going to go along with you and a few other people who argued that a permanent ban might be a little too harsh. We can give Einherjer a partial second chance. BUT: The next time we have to use the "Delete" or "Lock" button because of him, his second chance is up. Or, you know, if he does anything else to push people's buttons, or in general makes me regret this.

Other comments to things in this thread:
- About the chat: it's got nothing to do with anything here.
- About "NO U! NO U!": if someone else is breaking the rules/making you uncomfortable, just bring it to the moderators' attention. We have two for your convenience.
- The actual vote count in this poll didn't count for anything, in case anyone was curious. It was more to see what the general mood was.

He's unbanned as of now, we'll see how it goes.
