yes, I understand you

I think that schools take out the respect for the Flute.... cuz the Recorder is the real deal xP I even bought a wooden one XD cuz I had this plastic one for school which is really out of tune in the higher notes

anyway, it's great for playing VideoGame music

PS: my, classicaly, Hohner recorder is like between dark red and dark brown xD, and my Adler (wooden) recorder is kinda clear xO

PS2: really, WTF are those numbers XD!

I can play the microphone...
I used to play the clarinet way back in fifth grade. It sounded like I was killing some small animal -_-'

Music is very important to me. I've been playing electric guitar since I was 8 (I'm 17 now), but lately I've been focusing on singing. I sing for a few hours a day.

Voice - 5
Guitar - 7
Keyboard - 2 lol

I mainly use my keyboard for writing music. It's great for that. I think it's because I'm more creative with the keyboard, not knowing what the hell I'm doing and all.

I guess I am the only one representing the humble saxophone. I mainly play alto and soprano. (My funds are low and I can't afford a tenor sax )
I also play piano (for 5 years) and I am self taught at the cello. I've been trying to work on improving my voice, but that's a really slow process. Luckily in college I get to take a vocal training class. :)

Mainly keys and computer music. But I am not that skilled in it because, well.. I spend too much time on my other hobbies. I do like the things I compose with the computer / software synths. Even when it isn't highly skilled or anything, it does give the opportunity to release certain 'things' musically, so I am satisfied with that. I am in my second year now of keyboard classes.

Then everyone would have to refer to the string bass as a "double bass" and that would just not be cool.

Violin - [5, maybe 6... I stopped playing two years ago]

I would love to spend some time with drums, but... not likely. ::hora::

However, I rly wants 2 becom a DeeJay lawl. ::squee::

So I voted bass, because it's my main instrument. I've been playing bass about 5 years...and I'd like to give myself a 7 or so there, I play bass a lot now-a-days, and I like to consider myself relatively good. On my bass skills, my teacher is willing to write me a letter of recommendation on his reputation, so, I think that's kind of decent.

I also play guitar, which I've been doing for 7 years, but not nearly as serious as bass, and I don't really feel as comfortable with a guitar. I'd say a 5 when it comes to guitar, I can play about anything rhythm guitar wise, and some lead, but I don't really have a "style", and as said, I'm not incredibly comfortable with a guitar.

I pretend to sing sometimes, and I sing acoustic stuff decent, so maybe a 2.5, or 3, there.

Violin - 1
Piano - gave up
Guitar - gave up

I've been trying to get into music, but just haven't been able to consistently bring myself to practice seriously. I just started the violin a few weeks ago and it's always been one of my favorite instruments, so I hope that inspires me to continue this time. I can already say that the violin is a lot more fun to play than the other instruments I've tried in the past, in my opinion, which should hold my interest.

I too hate the 'double bass' thing, here we call it 'contrabajo', same for english, it's also known as 'contrabass', I preffer that name

But...bass isn't limited to stringed instruments/guitars. :/

What about instrumentas such as the bass saxophone/clarinet?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_Saxophone
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_clarinet

I think "bass guitar" is fine.

yes, I know that, but that's a Bass Saxophone and a Bass Clarinet, right? XD

the therm bass alone also refers to the low voice of anything, I think it should be called Contrabass, as you simply say 'guitar' for Electric Gutiar too, and like 'officialy' called Electric Contrabass

well, unlike English, Spanish has a regulator which makes things more official..... and the word Contrabajo is the propper name of the acoustic instrument also known as 'double bass' [contrabass, which is a name that's used to in english]

also, the simple fact of calling it Electric Bass makes the difference xP, if I say 'Electric Bass' you won't think of any other instrument, will you?

I love playing and learning new instruments.

Piano [10]
Chapel organ [7]
Glockenspiel [10]
Vibraphone [10]
Kalimba [5]
Tuba [9]
Sousaphone [8]
Baritone horn [8]
Contrabass [6]
Electric bass [7]
Guitar [2] (I just know chords and simple stuff. The most complicated thing I know is Kozi's Honey Vanity.)
Autoharp [10] (I adore this instrument.)
Psaltery [8]
Congas [10]
Guitarron [7]
Accordion [5]
Pan pipes [3]
Tenor recorder [6]
Soprano recorder [7]
Bamboo flute [7]
Vocals [6] (I'm either a baritone or a tenor...)
Death growls [10] (I'm really good at 'em supposedly but I freakin' hate death growling.)

The piano was what I first learned. The baritone horn was the only instrument that was ever taught to me. Everything else I learned on my own, as I love and live for instruments.

I'm extremely skilled with digital music. Computer software, synths, etc.

There's also some odd instrument I spent all day playing last week... it had four strings, a spherical body covered with fur, and it had strings thicker and stronger than a contrabass's...
