Where are my musicians at?

Pick your main instrument then if you play any other instruments respond by telling which instruments you play and evaluating yourself with a score ranging from 1-10 for each instrument. Then include any other info that you'd like to share.

1 = Just starting

5 = Mediocre

10= Your God's instrumentalist

For example:

I play:

Voice/Singing [3]
Piano/Keyboard [6]
E. Guitar/A. Guitar [5]
Concert Flute [3]
Violin [1]

I've been playing piano/keyboards for 5-6 years now but I haven't progressed much because i never had a teacher - because I never had the time or the money. So I am self taught. I don't really play other people's music - most of the time I try to come up with my own stuff.

I play piano. Also violin, but it doesn't seem to be my "true" instrument.

EDIT: Err... Piano [10]; violin [8]

You are part of a dying race my friend. Its too bad Western Music puts too much focus on melody and not so much on rhythm - when each should be equally important if not rhythm being more important.

Started off with piano at an early age; completed the Certificate of Merit program which I dreaded doing every year but am glad I did it. I'd say I'm pretty good, but I don't have easy access to a piano much these days.
Picked up trumpet and never really took it seriously although I proved good enough to get good seats in the concert band. I quit it a few years ago.
Guitar and bass came roughly around the same time, jr. high. I think I'm an above-average bassist and an only slightly-above-average guitarist.
Drums came in high school and I'd say I'm an average drummer.
I've never tried programming music because I'm poor.
I also sing, and I have good pitch, range, and control, but I wouldn't say my tone is fantastic so I'm just an average singer.

I spent years with violin/fiddle, viola, french horn, piano, and voice.

I'm probably at about a one with all of them.

Im a drummer first and formost. Allthough I really want to start producing music via my comp soon as I really REALLY enjoyed making some 2 years back at school.
My most loved instrument is Violin (allthough ive never held one, I just love the way it sounds)

I'd rate mysefl about a 6-7 on drums (Dont really learn songs, I just play whats in my head and then fit it in time with things, I usally end up making my alternative drum tracks to songs)

>_> Haven played my kit in aaaaages, Gotta restart either next week or the week after as my mum will be finshed her holidays ^_^

Its preety easy dude.
Just do as my complusurary school drum teacher (for 1 year) told me.

"You gotta get into the grove man"

That depends what you mean by easy?
It could be easy for you to be an average drummer, but to be something different and stand out can take some hard work..

Thats true, but im guessing from what he implied he meant only to just become a competent in time drummer.
But then again as with any instrument Its easy to be average/competent but without sheer practise and determination you will never become great.
My skill lies above the average line but isnt near great simply beacuseI dont practice enough nor do I value drumming as much as i used to. (weird as I always intent to play but never end up doing)
