I wouldn't say it's "illegal" as it's not like I can be arrested, and I was not kicked out, either.
Did you get anyone making the "X" with their arms? ::meev::

No but I expected it. Instead a Japanese woman, not wearing Moitie or the venue clothing, roughly grabbed my arm and said some very rude things to me, tugging at me. I freed my arm from her and played stupid, "Oh, I can't speak Japanese! what's wrong?" But I put my camera away after. I got a couple more but nothing I'm bothering to share. They're not that good, but one has a cool effect on it.

At DSII I had no problems and took pics throughout, but I was being more careful about it. I didn't take pics either until MdM was on stage, and most were during when Yu~ki was up there.

You need to set up a secret hidden hair-cam. Lolitas these days like to have giant hair and it's a great place for hiding things like spare keys and baby mice and of course tiny spy cameras.

No, it's the artists who don't want unauthorised photos to leak on to the internet. Best proof for that is that in Europe, where fans are usually allowed to take photos, Japanese bands still enforce a total photo ban. The staff say clearly before each concert that taking photos is not allowed; the reason they don't say it in Japan is because people there know it isn't allowed and respect that.

The green hair looks awful :< (to me)

I really like the goth look best rather than this strange queenish look.

Oh. Is it really the reason ?
I innocently thought it was asked by the artists not to be disturbed by the flashes. Flashes are really annoying when you play on a scene. Me, in any case, they annoyed me a lot but I was far from being a professional artist, he ^^ But during the last concert of Paul McCartney I saw, If I remember well, photos were admitted but not flashes.
