Agitated Scream of Maggots -unplugged-... What is that? Seriously, how could anyone think that sort of thing was acceptable!? They should have left it off. (although the single is atrocious anyway)

And Undecided is so boring. It just goes on and doesn't do anything interesting. It's one of those songs you listen to and will never again because it's so unmemorable.

And Glass Skin is exactly the same. I just can't get over the Linkin Park-ness of the song.

I wasn't very happy with the single either. ASOM was such a dissapointment...I don't like to listen to noise.
It really didn't have much of a point...but...maybe that..was the point? I dunno.
I can't wait to hear GLASS SKIN live...it might make me like it more.

For example: Byo Shin (missa) and Byo Shin (6 ugly). 6 Ugly remake just blows the original, underproduced indie track out of the water.

While you are factually, scientifically, and empirically 100% correct, for every person that agrees with us on this there will be several more who will claim that the utter indies crap VK soundness is what makes the old one better. :-P
I avoided the Six Ugly version of Byo Shin for THE LONGEST FREAKING TIME because the Missa version sucked so much ass. ::bleh:: And then I accidentally played the Six Ugly version one day, and mourned how long I missed out. :(

I still need to download Glass Skin.
But from reading your comments, I'm beginning to think ASoM was just an elaborate prank.

I like it, but something the style of the Glass Skin cover would have been a lot better. ;)

I like it! Also, those are the type of illustrations we're working on for the next few weeks in Media class. Cool. XD

I already ordered the new album on CD japan. I was wondering if the Japanese special edition, has more tracks than the English one. Because I would rather have more songs than a DVD.

I thought Glass Skin was absolutely beautiful, it was so melancholy . The guitar work was very soothing and Kyo's vocals were so calm.

Undecided was cool

Agitated screams acoustic. This song is the best song to listen to when you hate everything, the angry beautiful pianos blow me a way while Kyo's gorilla vocals bring utter madness into my ears.

I loved it.

Ah, that's right o_o for the first one, it's like the same concept, but with butterflies instead of snakes.

I heard Red Soil from Dir en Grey last night. I liked what I heard. It was kind of a mixture of old and new, and I think thats what they needed.

I was disappointed though that on the radio they said they were going to be playing more than one song and only ended up playing that one.

I thought Red Soil was good, up until the Korn-ish sounds near the end. I was just left feeling a bit annoyed because I really liked it until that part. Anyway, it's still good. I'm sensing I'll probably like this album better than Marrow.

The album leaked a few days ago.

I've given it one listen and I'm happy enough to remove Dir en grey from my ON NOTICE list.

They've gone back to the experimental-ism of the Kisou era while still retaining some of the hard style from MARROW. But this time, it sort of scattered around so it doesn't become repetitive like MARROW was. It's not just raw screamy stuff anymore. So some might find it less exciting, but I think it's a more mature and layered sound for them. I like it. It's still heavy but in an interesting, subdued way.

There are, unfortunately, very Korn-ish outbursts in a few of the tracks. But overall the sound is nice and fresh, and they don't sound formulaic like a lot of their songs on the past few albums have been.

I approve. ::kaya::

*raises hand*
Because I have no cool words of my own, I will break off yours? It is less exciting, but not in a bad way, more like in that "still heavy but in an interesting, subdued way", a very interesting.. subdued way. And I mean heavy and subdued like a semi- heavy bag full of dir en grey goo music. Usually when I'm not all super giddy about an album during the first of listens, it means later it will grow on me and I'll gain more appreciation (instead of discarding it) and sometimes find myself recalling tunes like if the tracks secretly slipped in and embedded themselves into my mind. ... yeah... so ~ I'll just put this on repeat since I'm in desperate need of new music and listen closely to it after I get in the mood. haha

I think it's so weird and interesting how after each release this band has made, the feeling you get reading over or hearing their name changes. I would call it "mature" too, but I think there is a better word out there for it, but I'm not smart enough to think of what it is.

I had to get the leak because I can't get my copy till next year. ::shifty::
-entitled permission by distance, but i could have waited till after the release date i guess x:-
