They played Kioku to Sora years ago? I still hoping they release the new version with the new lyrics :/
Do you mean the version on the video for Bara no Seidou? Love the guitars on that.

Yeah, at a Deep Sanctuary. I love the guitars too, so melodic. Is the only song they played and never released.

Maybe they'll throw a sneaky Syunikiss in, isn't it Yu~ki's birthday tomorrow? I never know which way around dates go.

Wasn't a chorus, it was the audience singing the song after the three left the stage. Mana looked like he was crying.

Well, my guess was close. But oh man, Transylvania sung by Yu~ki? ::squee:: The "Vampire Count" skit they did on the Voyage DVD is one of the coolest things they ever did, so anything that calls back to that is A+ in my book.

The M10M setlist seems kind of weak though:

Yup, Yu~ki chan is now the top Malice Mizer lead singer. Came out in a top hat and cape. His hair is pretty long too.

Mana was really rocking tonight and Seth was very impressive. They were all more animated which was good. However I agree about the set list. I am sad they didn't do Deflower or Pageant. Would have made the night perfect.

Also I think there was an issue with the mixing with Tenatation. The kick drum was way too loud and clashed with Seth's vocals. Bass could have been lower for that song too. It was weird because other songs were fine.

I was most surprised at how good ZIZ and Kozi's voice was. I think they did a Ken Morioka song. He finished with Superbsaw which was great!

and um, yeah I was there. Tokyo is horribly hot right now.

There's a bit left out of that set list. They opened with that music and very dramatic lighting building the whole vampire feel, like the movie.

Yu~ki made a big entrance after Kozi and Mana came out and stood there.

After Transylvania Mana walked off the stage and that little bit of music, the kind of French sounding song which I can never remember the name of (the one Gackt used someone else's lyrics for) played. Kozi and Yuki chatted like one of their radio talks. I wish I knew what all they were saying because they sounded adorable. Then Mana came out wearing a frilly white apron while pushing a cart with a cake on it. Not sure how many lit candles were on it.

Happy birthday music was playing and people were singing but then Kozi said a few things, tried to get Mana to speak (which he didn't) and then Kozi led everyone in singing Happy Birthday Yuki chan.

It was so adorable.

Kozi then sang Beast of Blood and then NpsNGs and then they went off stage. Au Revoir started playing (must have been on that zip drive). I think Mana came out on a little wheeled thing but I could not see since people were holding their arms up and bouncing around. The guys threw some balls and stuff into the audience, no idea if there was something inside them.

They bowed a number of times to the audience, I swear Mana was crying. They walked off and the audience started singing along with Au Revoir. I wish I knew if the guys heard that. None of them have been on Twitter except for Seth/Z and he hasn't tweeted anything related to the show.

Oh and Hayato was filming Yu~ki's cake thing with his phone so if we are lucky maybe he will put it online. Does he have an Instagram account?

There you go. It felt like they put a little more effort into the Malice Mizer part this time. It's clear they still are loved as a band and if they ever want to come back they have dedicated fans in Japan.

Was the music from dracula? they really love it haha
No, it was sort of Yami no Kanata e but updated. Which may have been what Mana was working on when he posted photos of his studio. It sounded very cool. The house camera was filming but there was no other cameras that I could see. Too bad because it was pretty darn good.

Yes that song. I really hope Sarah or someone will post their conversation.

I didn't mention going before because there were a lot of things that could have gone wrong. Someone else got the ticket for me but didn't realize she needed to get an actual ticket from the clerk at the store so all she gave me was receipts. Thankfully there was the same type store near the venue. That plus having to fly to Tokyo, dealing with this heat and humidity plus I'm in a bit of pain from standing on concrete floor all that time.

I do think Mana is ready to start doing concerts again. Seth mentioned recording so maybe a tour could happen in the near future. I think they could do well if they did a few shows in North America. The timing is right.

I started listening to Malice Mizer like a year after they went on hiatus. So this felt like my one chance to finally see just a little bit. And it was a lot of work for me to get here. They done good.

A couple things I remembered. One was when Kozi was leading us singing Happy Birthday he kept inserting Yuki-chan into the lyrics. When Au Revoir was playing and they were doing their last little bow at the side of the stage, all of the sudden he sang into the mic "Motto" at that part of the song. He was really enjoying himself. I think he would have sung more songs if he could.

After Yu~ki blew out all those candles he said something about wanting to taste the cake. He used his finger. Mana handed him a napkin like he had cake on his mouth but Yu~ki instead leaned forward and made Mana dab at his mouth with the napkin Mana was holding. Audience ate this up.

Crowd was most into the Malice Mizer part of the show which surprised me but was good to see. Most of the people there were young and many would have not seen them live back then. Which is why I think they could do more and do well with it. But doesn't seem like they will.
