I'm sure pretty much everyone has heard of them already, but thats their members list there anyway.

I've been a fan for a year and a half, I've been pretty impressed with their stuff and Asagi's voice is actually brilliant, sure he needs to work on the Death vocals a bit, but other then that he's really shown his versatility. And their two guitarists have shown some talent too, they're a band that got a repetitive recently but a few of their releases have settled me thankfully.

They've also got a new single coming out called Akaki Hitsuji ni Yoru Bansankai [赤き羊による晩餐会] which is released in 3 versions. They're new image has been posted, which looks like some sort of Medievil/S&M sort of thing; http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/484 ... itsuji.png

What does everyone else think of them?

I really liked the name of the Rose, but I never really got into their later releases, except for Ouka Saki Some ni Keri. I thought their music kinda got a little stale.

Ruiza looks as though he has a fern growing from his head.

Asagi's vocals are godly. Love the way he keeps high pitch notes so smooth. I think it's the reason I love their music so much, honestly the guitars don't move me as much~

"Yami Yori Kurai Doukoku No Acapella"...ETC XD has to be one my faves. And "Kuon".

They are cool, but nothing I listen to regularly.
I love ASAGI too.

Same here. I like some of their songs, Asagi is a very good vocalist, and they are one of the better visual bands this century, but somehow I could never really, truly get into them properly. So as it stands I only listen to them every now and then. Maybe I ought to make more effort...

Ouka Sakisomenikeri = badass.
I have the single and love it.
Otherwise, I'm not that big of a fan. I might listen to their other stuff once in awhile though. Asagi is a very talented singer.

I'm a casual fan of this band and only really have most of their early material. Like most people what draws me into D's music is Asagi's vocals. However my favourite Asagi song is Arubino from Syndrome, even though I prefer Tatsuya over Asagi in Syndrome. But I haven't heard anything from D that I can leave on repeat like that song ::meev::

Like apparently most people I got into them because of Asagi. I really liked Syndrome and I loved most of D's early stuff (New Blood, Paradox, Synchronicty etc), but I stopped following them after The Name of the Rose because I was disappointed with how generic and mainstream rock they were beginning to sound. Then last year I came across Snow White, which I really liked, and now I'm listening to them again. I still can't get into Name of the Rose (except for Yami yori blablabla and Mayutsuki no hitsugi) and Tafel Anatomie, but I like both Neo Culture and Genetic World.

Ok, I just listened to 7th Rose, and it is also quite epic.
The growling was a bit weak, but it was cool, and the transitions from epic/choir-esque to hard rawk was awesome.

http://www.d-gcr.com/discography/ - PV Previews + Track previews are up.

Akaki blahblahblah sounds pretty good so far! Asagi has some nice falsetto parts (especially the 'oooh-ooh!' parts) & the PV comes in 2 different types; A seems to tell more of a story, B is the band performing the song (same footage from the first). I thought the song might be a bit darker, but its got a hooky sort of edge to it which suits it a bit better as a single too.

Also, the B-sides are each composed by 3 other members (Ruiza, Tsunehito & Hide-Zou) so its going to have a lot more variation then any of their previous singles. So I'm pretty much very excited about this, especially since its my first D release that I'm getting :D

I have to say that I really like D, both their old and their new releases (leaving out Day By Day, wtf was that? I was also not really happy with the 3 min. pv in which Asagi checks his mails and makes some adverticement for apple. :P (the making of was not better either ::hora:: ).
Oh and I do not really like Tsunes new look. He looks quite nice without make up but he always uses horrific make up which does not suit him at all, but nevertheless he is an awsome bass player so never mind.

Since there was some interest in D in the Versailles thread recently I thought I'd revive this topic (rather than make a new one). ::kisaki::

They've just released a new single called Torikago Goten ~L'Oiseau bleu~. It's based on a fairy tale and part of the proceeds go to charity to support the earthquake victims. I must say I really like the song and the PV is awesome, as usual. Asagi looks rather feminine again, considering he's supposed to be the King of Birds, haha.

The 2nd b-side (Denshou sareshi sora no monogatari) sounds like it could be interesting too.

The PV is really nice, though I am still waiting for my CDs to get shipped.

But WHY did it have to be pidgeons, I wonder?

By the way, does anybody here know anything about them leaving their major label?

Met them at A-Kon.
Really nice guys, Asagi was a sweetheart especially :3

They signed my copy of Synchronicity. Good live as well.

I have yet to hear L'oiseau Bleu, looking forward to it though.

Me too. And apparently everybody else. Don't know if that's normal for CoolJapan, I never ordered from them before. Still, I'm glad international orders were included in the live only/mail order only limitation. Can't wait to hear the b-sides in full and see the "making of".

Haha, perhaps real bluebirds were too small or too dificult to train? Or didn't look blue enough in the dim light?

All I know is the announcement from Smile, their management company, and what Asagi wrote in his diary. Doesn't make much sense with Google/Excite, but yeah, it seems they're back on their old indie label and it seems to have been their decision.

I thought so too. One of the nicest bands I've met. :)

I didn't like the new single, the title track was alright but it just felt like it build up to nothing and just flopped. The B-sides were all pretty forgettable, I can't remember anything about them. I found myself having a hard time just trying to listen to the songs without zoning out. :|

Well, I am just guessing now, but since overseas fans can "preorder" the single until the end of August, maybe they're waiting until then to ship them all together?

Or it was just to expensive to get a real "blue bird" for that PV.

Yes, I know they left Smile, but I was wondering about the reason, since it came pretty out of the blue, at least for me. And I'd really like to know if the label dropped them, or if Asagi was just fed up with their label.
