Yes? I dunno, but I until today CDjapan had the order marked as a door-to-door delivery, but today they just randomly told me I had to go take the order myself at Customs...
Yes, I probably wrote that original comment really badly. Sorry.
Do you use a PO box? Or are you outside the US? (I'll have to keep my eyes peeled on my Yahoo inbox)

I'm outside the US. I just put in an address where I normally put stuff to be delivered at, but they changed it for some reason. Just had it happen at the same time the format change was made so I'm sort of guessing it's related but I have my doubts.

I'm located in the USA and didn't get any message like that.

What about ninjas, HMMMMM???
If Naruto taught me anything about ninjas, it's that nothing they do takes you by surprise, they always lead up to it over 40 or 50 episodes ::meev::

I just went to cdjapan to check if it was still listed as pre order after the deadline for the event, it was but I also noticed they changed it into blu ray :/ I don't even have a blu ray player -.-'

EDIT: they also mentions the change on the official webpage and that you can get a refund.

OH YES!! GIVE ME THAT 1080p BABY

YES! YES! Thank you, Mana-sama! Rejoice! You don't need to pull out those whips after all!

I'm away for couple of days only and meanwhile this happens. I'm happy. It would have been a real shame to film something like this in high quality and then release it only on DVD (I still pre-ordered it though, because I'm a sucker). I guess DVDs are cheaper to make, but still, high quality, baby. I suppose they could have given an option for those who want the DVD, though.

Now the only thing I'm hoping for is for the photobook to be a big one! :P Maybe Mana will surprise us again and it turns out to be a pop-up hardcover book packaged inside a music box that's shaped like a coffin! Not holding my breath though.

Also I'm surprised how many of you don't have BluRay players. I guess it all really went to streaming after DVD, huh... I guess it's only the few of us who still buy physical media anymore. I feel old.

Yes! I hear so little talk about the photobook it's sort of worrying me, I really hope it is, indeed, worthy and more than a simple pamphlet. Also hoping both the DVD and the book include content from all three bands.

I held out for the longest time because all the blacklisting, involuntary firmware updates, and general backdoor nonsense built into the platform looked massively abusable by the RIAA and local equivalents. Plus, for a long time there was no good region-free solution that didn't involve breaking out a soldering iron and sacrificing a few chickens to obscure cult deities.
On top of that, I mainly play Nintendo games so I never ended up with a console that had a player built in.
And then by the time I was reasonably convinced that the platform wasn't going to be egregiously abused in practice, 4K was right around the corner, so it was smarter to wait some more XD

Everything you said is thought out and correct.
Not sure where you're from, but you could import a bluray player from a country that doesn't use region codes. I'm in the understanding that region coding is illegal in Sweden, so their players have always played anything. However, they use different plugs and watts (same as most PAL I suppose?) if you're from the US/UK, so you might have to pull out those soldering irons and chickens.

I got a Blu-ray that plays DVDs when I moved into my own apartment. It was mostly me thinking 2 birds and 1 stone because I didn't own a DVD player at the time.
I've gotten some movies I really love on bluray, but most bands I know only release DVDs, because I'm mostly into obscure bands that have already disbanded ages ago and they have no high quality footage.

Man, Blu-ray really came out too late. What a waste. Long live laser disc!

Bruh, saaame. Why does everyone seem to hate on Nintendo so much? Because it's the "family-friendly" console? Newsflash! An M-rating =/= a good game. Just sayin'. #zelda4lyfe bitches

Back (mostly... slightly) on topic, I'm kinda surprised how long BluRay has lasted, I honestly thought for a while it was just another HD DVD debaucle (remember those?), but I'm guessing it's here to stay as far as tangible media goes.

So when does Mana release MmM BluRay player to appease all the disappointed fans?

If you know the right people it can be fixed ::gaku:: an old coworker of my moms loves video games (she's my video game guru since birth) and had a guy fix her old ps1 and 2 so that she could play region free. I remember borrowing her ps1 and all the awesome games she had (she made her daughter buy pirate copies when she worked in South america)...those were the days ::ash::

Seriously though, not sure it's illegal, I've come across region free dvd players here. not so common but you can find them.

I forked off the A/V talk to the random thread, let's continue there ::batsu::

Hey, the MALICE MIZER Blu-ray is region free.
If anything, I'm surprised that the original DVD wasn't.

I don't have a bluray DVD player, only have DVD region free player (can play all region codes DVD). I wish they can have 2 options , DVD format and bluray format for customers to choose, otherwise there will be a lot of order cancellation occur. I will go out to see if there is a region free bluray dvd player for sale, I need a region free bluray dvd player because I will have a lot of different region codes bluray disc

Hmm. Can you get a region free bluray player on your PC? It might be easier to overcome the region locking with that as well, maybe.

I have to say, I'm pretty damn excited for this release. High quality MM live concert. It's like a dream come true! Though, it would be even cooler if they filmed a concert in technicolor. I know film is expensive, and who the hell manufactures technicolor anymore, but Mana said he likes Suspiria so he must love the colors! Gee, bands need to hire me to design these useless things that only I care about!

Do you people know if it's just the live concert or is there anything else on the disc? Like maybe music videos?
I wish they could somehow release remastered music videos in the future. Though, I highly doubt they can even be remastered. The originals were filmed mostly on video and Mana probably doesn't own any of the Merveilles era footage (as it wasn't a MmM release).
