Just discovered this version of this song

and it reminds me a lot of Ér's fukai ♥♥ I wonder if that was their inspiration.. they both have the same energy especially at 3:28 ? (if you compare with fukai's 5:48 )

Btw @flowersofnight I've been wondering since like 2013.. This version of fukai is found in which release of Ér ? Because it's definitively my favorite version but I haven't been able to find it before.

Both songs are hauntingly beautiful :) Although it's not my favorite version of Moments of Love

Very possible. There was a lot of New Wave influence to VK, including MALICE MIZER. Every time I see and hear Matenrou I can't help but think of Robert Smith, lol

That's what I have been noticing as well ! It's so nice discovering the original artists because it sort of gives a longer lifespan to those special songs I never thought I'd hear again. ♥

I'm assuming it's from one of the demo tapes no one has. This is why I try so hard to get my hands on this stuff, everyone else just hoards it. ::hora::

:( That's unfortunate ! I was confident you had it, but that I was downloading the wrong releases ::teef::

I hope it resurfaces one day ! It's such a great rendition of the song, very entrancing. (I used to listen to it while walking late at night, and one time there was slow falling powdery snow, and from that moment on I get this sort of tingling feeling every time I listen to it. It has some sort of magic that I can't attribute to a lot of songs) Also the way they used to perform it live is so theatrical and cute.

Note : It's one of those songs that I actually enjoy probably more in low quality, that eerie feeling would probably be lost in HQ

I expected harsh noise music with a artist name like "art of noise"...
Was disappointed at first, but now I'm a fan!

This is some nice harsh noise!!
But the guy's crazy!!

Here's a super interesting video about "danger music", it has a section about Hanatrash (what I linked)

Just found another musical parallel

(3:30)

and

(1:34 )

Which is unlikely but at the same time I've always felt like Trancelusence had such a house beat to it (like it's almost runway music, and it's unlike other compositions by Ryonai so maybe ? ahah)

We watch the same youtube videos ahah, I've loved every single video in that series ! :)

My favorite artist outside the japanese scene, I'm somewhat picky with what I can really like from producers and artists in general, but his project reminds me of what I love most about KALMIA. Mostly because he's a self produced electronic singer songwriter, who uses strongly reverbed layered percussions, with strong basslines, detailed arrangements, with some experimental elements while exploring themes of spirituality, mysticism, isolation amongst others.

He deleted the original for this track, (faster reupload with lyrics) but this song is by far one of my favorites of all time, the layering of string instruments and the almost dissonant harmonies they produce is somewhat entrancing to me, along with the softly played plucked kalimba chords, the strong bassline and the simple yet effective reverbed percussions.

Found Helloween's "Pumpkins United" live video from Wacken on YouTube. All the original singers united with the band and they played classics for 2½ hours.
Not that much into "power metal", except for Helloween which I genuinely love.

However listening to this made me kinda sad. I've been listening to this band since I was 12-13 and same goes with many of the bands I like. I feel like only the bands I discovered when I was like 12- 20 years old still hold up... Haven't found that many bands since then that really impact me. Of course there's been some albums that I really dig, but even though I really enjoyed them when I discovered them, they don't have the same lasting power. And even those albums are mostly from bands that have already disbanded ages ago. It makes me feel like an old fossil who listens to only old music...

And nobody else at my age are "fans" of anything anymore, so I can't even talk about these things to them. They only care about real life things and don't understand what I'm saying.
This is seriously making me a bit suicidal. I'm no longer 16 and I'm supposed to be an adult now and I don't know. I hate this.

Is this what it feels like to be old? Am I the only one feeling this?

I totally get how you feel, to be honest being part of somewhat unpopular fandoms can feel quite isolating sometimes. I personally think you should embrace the side of yourself that keeps being attached to things that were significant for you in the past, and just shamelessly express how you feel and embrace it. Also I don't know if you've ever heard about this before but it could pretty well explain how you feel :).

It's quite normal behavior actually in my opinion. Something that has helped me in similar situations is finding the facebook/reddit/lastfm groups that exist for specific fandoms. (I'm confident they should exist for Helloween) I personally love the Boards of Canada facebook group <3. (Or you could just be like me on this forum and ramble about stuff nobody cares about lmao)

About the old part hm I think it's pretty normal, and personally I think most people as they age just dissimulate who they really are in order to appear more responsible or mature (or they become preoccupied about 432984932 things so they just don't have the time to think about it) but that's my own personal theory :).

I know how you feel, you are definitely not alone in feeling it, and getting older is weird af.

I don't think anyone actually knows how to "be an adult", some people just shrink themselves into assimilating with "the norm" of everyday life, or have never been passionate about anything in the first place (i know a few of those) so its easier for them.

Don't let it get you down! There will always be someone else that likes what you like, you just have to find them! Thank whatever higher power for the internet, where everything is possible! <3

Does anyone here like the Eccentric Opera? I've listened to them on-off since I was a kid.
I came across this last week (even though it was uploaded 10 years ago) and I haven't gotten over it. ::kozi::

Feeling a bit of the same (or at least getting scared of) the same thing you're talking about, Hampo. I'm about to become an adult and the people around me even now aren't huge fans of things, so i have to seek out places on the internet like this forum to actually talk to people about my interests. I dunno if i'm an odd one out for my age, but i can assure you you're not alone. So like Morgan said, power of the internet :) I've been getting deeper into musical interests and obscure things since becoming a fan of malice mizer, and now I have absolutely nothing to do but occupy myself with my interests since I can't go out and I just finished school.

..on another note, I really enjoy some stuff by the band Ruins recently.

i'm so glad i'm not the only person who feels this way & also seeing everyone else's replies. also definitely agreeing w/morgan here:

P-MODEL - MONSTER A GO GO

I don't know what release of "ONE PATTERN" really had this as a bonus track - I got it as part of the "Ashu-on" box. Fantastic song though - it's a shame P-MODEL broke up before producing the album this would've been on.

I never actually listened to even one P-Model record, despite being a fan of Susumu Hirasawa's solo work. What would be the best place to start, or should I just get them in order? Based on this song, it sounds like your typical Susumu goodness.

My depression continues with me listening to nothing but my old favourites as always.
Just recently somebody uploaded live footage of Miranda Sex Garden on YouTube that hasn't been there before. Which is pretty coolio

no P-MODEL record is quite like the other (excluding perhaps In A Model Room (1979) and Landsale (1980), which were written around the same time; P-MODEL (1992) and Big Body (1993); and Electronic Tragedy ~ ENOLA (1997) and Music Industrial Wastes: P-MODEL OR DIE (1999) which are *kinda* similar. For that reason, recommending an album to start is quite hard. My personal favorite is Karkador, from 1985, but the band never made anything quite like it (aside from a few singles associated with the album like D-SIDE and Re;), though it does share some compositional elements with the album that came before it, Scuba, and the one that came after, One Pattern.

Also, it should be noted that the version of Monster A Go Go that was linked by Flowers was recorded in 2002, for the release of the Ashu-on box set. Personally, I hate it, and I don't think it does justice to the original song at all. The live versions that were played from 1987 to 1988 are much better and you absolutey should seek them out if you can. On a related note, I wish Monster (the album Monster A Go Go was supposed to be included in) was released. The songs that were planned for it are some of my absolute favorite P-MODELtunes (namely Call Up Here), but only Coyote was ever recorded for the album (in 198:cool:, and that version remains unreleased. Hirasawa did rerecord some Monster songs for his first solo album, Water in Time and Space, from 1989, (Coyote, Dune [which was adapted from a demo called "Gen"] and No Workshop), and they're pretty good

Is there a live version that's not in awful quality? The ones on the live DVD (or the other Ashu-on tracks) are pretty unfortunate. I'd be thrilled to bits if there's a high-quality bootleg of "CRUEL SEA" out there somewhere.
