I don't think anybody can describe how they feel at this stage. Adjusting to such a degree of violence coming from all sides when all in all living here used to be safe is almost impossible. We live in fear of the news, while going about with your daily lives, because there's no other option.

Fortunately I've never had an issue with Buyee!

The guitar sounds great and is an absolute joy to play! I'm running it through a BOSS GT-100 and Orange Amp.

Lol flowers you're the weirdo for still using Celga. I've heard more bad stories about them than anybody, but then again that could be because they've been around the longest. Most people have moved on to newer cheaper services.

The TaoBao shopping services though...If you like reading customer horror stories those are a goldmine. ::gaku::

Maybe you need to switch perfume brands or something

I already did. I stopped wearing 8x4 for men and switched to 8x4 green lemon (or so) for women.

@Cerceaux Normally I don't expect old grannies to hit on me. XD
But good idea.

This is a thing that does happen when you wear AXE. User beware, the struggle is real XD

I wore it when volunteering at a senior citizen daycare center once and one of the older ladies gave me a big hug and whispered, "You smell nice." Then she winked and walked away.

I liked the group though. They were very kind and had a lot of activities for the seniors. Once, they had a little kid come to perform on a cello (he was really little) but cellos aren't made that small, and so the family had gotten him a customized viola that he could stand upright and it was just the right size. It was pretty cool to see :)

Lol @ guys who douse themselves in a gallon of Axe hoping to be surrounded by supermodels like the commercial and get a bunch of grannies instead
I always thought that stuff smelled like crap but probably because teenagers just use way too much (or think it's an acceptable shower substitute).

Everything in moderation. There are a couple people who really lather it on at work and sometimes this is exactly what happens:

@Wandering Fox: THE PERFUME DEPARTMENT!!! But what is it about Axe that's even supposed to attract women though? XD I don't get why it's even a "thing" to expect...

I have my first client interview tomorrow and it has to be in Spanish, eep. EEP. I feel weird about all the legal words so hopefully I can remember most of them ::batsu::

I'm guessing AXE is the American equivalent of LYNX? I didn't realise people actually wore it, it has a reputation for being for teenagers here.

Point: I used to wear it until I switched to Old Spice around... 19?

PE: It's not supposed to attract women, it's just the (very successful) advertising campaign.
I dunno why men and women have to have different perfume. It's just scented stuff you spray on yourself. I wouldn't mind a guy smelling flowery.
I like oil based perfumes best though because they don't have the strong alcohol smell like traditional ones.

tl;dr... Axe sux

If you spray it on Play-Doh it forms interesting crystalizations though: This is an Axe Fact.

I can't find anything about this online. Therefore the only way you could possibly know this is if you tried it yourself. Busted

Has anyone here applied and went to the interview for the MEXT scholarship (for graduate students)?
I applied and was summoned for exams and interview tomorrow and I'm about to freak out I'm so nervous.
It's tomorrow and I'm trying to prepare myself for what they might ask but I'm so scared they're gonna ask me something I'm not prepared for and I won't be able to give a good reply....or that the japanese part of the interview will be too hard.
At first I didn't feel it was a big deal, I'm certain I wont' get it so I assumed I'd just go there do the thing and leave, no biggie. But now, when it's acctually tomorrow I'm feeling super stressed...even if I don't get it I don't want to make a bad impression =/ I never thought they'd even ask me to come for this...
So does anyone know what they ask? (I've googled and most just mention what kind of questions there is)

I guess it's like the ones I see occasionally about cars. Having a car GETS YOU ALL THE WOMEN! But yeah, I never understood what it was about Axe in particular that had that reputation, but it must be the advertising campaign.

I use Jennifer Lopez's perfume "Love and Light" and I like it because it smells fresh and isn't overpowering. Other than that I'm not big on perfumes or know much about them even though I have a ton of samples. I should start using them! My parents use Chanel. My dad used to spray it on me when I'd go to school! He'd be like, "WAIT!!! *sprays a ton on me* OK bye."
I don't see a lot of the "his" vs. "her" things necessary, like deodorant and razors. Meh.

My mom is in Istanbul and went on a river cruise that had a show. The host, an old man, looked around the room and stared at my mom and said, "And there is Miss Anita joining us from CNN!" Everyone looked at her and applauded and she wasn't sure what to do because he totally mistook her for someone else. So she just smiled back at people and nodded and took on the role. (WHICH IS WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE XD) He even asked her to give a kind report on the show, haha. Whenever she made a move people looked at her and she thought it was hilarious.

When it was over the boat went to her hotel because her hotel has a loading dock, and she was the only guest from that hotel. The captain came and escorted her off the ship. This lady said, "She must be really important" and my mom was dying inside. XD God, I wish I had been there. I would have put a pencil behind my ear.

Man, the lady I spoke to on Friday... I was able to do my interview and I didn't flub up (I forgot how to say "lottery ticket" in Spanish though), and she was really nice too. She got into a car accident while driving with her husband in Santo Domingo, and the car hit her and the driver drove off.

As I was getting through her questions at some point we stopped and she started telling me what she's been going through. Since the car accident she hasn't been able to walk well and has had surgeries and implants on her leg, and a nurse visits her four hours a day. She feels depressed because she wants to work again, but now feels useless and can't walk well. So now she's filing for bankruptcy because she can't pay her bills and credit cards anymore. She said she was glad the car didn't hit her head or she wouldn't be talking to me, but still.
Ugh, I felt really bad for her and all I could say was that I'd do her case quickly and not to worry about anything! I finished up the meeting, spoke to my supervisor about it, made copies of important papers, etc. At the end she said thanks and God bless me in the "dios te bendiga" way...

Anyway, at least we can help her! Something I also liked about her was that she was totally prepared for the meeting and had 99% of the documents we needed so I can start her application right away. I'm really liking the internship as I get to do a lot of hands-on stuff by myself, listened to Chapter 7, 11, 13 cases in court already, met business bankruptcy lawyers, etc. And learn about a ton of other things @_@

In nerdier news, I'm starting an online course named, "The Beauty of Kunqu Opera" because it has a whole section on Peony Pavilion ::batsu:: I've also been catching up on my backlog of The Economist magazines!
