And how do you feel about it?

Just curious. Mine always have dead things, or something trying to kill me, or some sort of entity that, while not actually existing, is still present and death in itself, and a very large part of the dream that kind of hangs around in the background.
It's not scary or bad or anything. It simply "is".
So I was wondering how often other people's dreams have death in them, and what it meant to you.

I'm not bothered by it.
I'll always try not to die, but at the same time I'm never too scared.
The bright side to this being that I never have nightmares

The only time I can think of when my dream didn't have death was when my brother had to make cupcakes with smiley faces for school and didn't know how, so we were forced to fly Hora over from Japan to help him.
He didn't.

Its either "almost never" or 25%, not sure >_>

Sometimes I have dreams about people dying but that hasn't happened in a while...but some weeks ago I had reoccuring dreams of some guy I didn't know shooting me ::erm:: I wasn't really "ahhh" about it, but in my dream I was wondering who it was and why I was even shot in the first place...o.o

The most recent one was of me driving to this mansion and parking in the front. Then as I walked to the door I looked to the side and saw a pink flamingo strangled and I was like "o_o;" but I kept going, even though that was a clear sign of bad things to come XD Then some guy in a suit appeared and pointed his gun at me, and that's when I woke up XD It sorta keeps happening that way.

I'm not bothered by it either ^^; but if its a dream of the death of someone I care for, then I start thinking about it for a while >_<

I clicked always. I had chronic nightmares as a kid, but I'm fine now.

I prefer this to having good dreams though, I must admit they happen every once in awhile, but I really hate them.

Waking up with a life that isn't as enjoyable as the dream you've just had is the worst feeling in the world. It can kill your week.

It's a good quarter of the time for me. I can't recall specifics of most, though. My brain usually banishes such things into its "Never to be remembered" file that I have no control over XD

I don't recall any of my dreams having to do with death, but I suck at recalling dreams in general.

Same here, as a kid I dreamt a lot about dying, fears and other nightmarish stuff. It didn't really change over the years, but my approach to it became more positive. The great thing about dreams is that they aren't real, so dying in a dream is also an interesting experience, because you will just wake up after you died.

When you die in a dream you will always wake up. It happens rarely that a dream is about after you died(and if it is about the afterlife, it's for some nonlogical reason that doesn't make a person 'completely' death). It kind of explains how our brains think how death would be like.

The last year, about 50% of my dreams were about death or something related to that topic. As far as I can recall(and have written), only one of them actually made me feel bad.

I really like happy dreams. For a short moment it feels like living in a perfect reality. Of course, the moment I wake up instantly makes me feel depressed. But well, I don't mind feeling like that after having a great dream.

I voted almost never but only because I can't remember my dreams.

Death really isn't a factor in my dreams. My dreams are usually rather terrifying, but death never makes its way in.

Almost never for me. Generally things are just chasing me and/or stalking me in my dreams. XD

Death in dreams is nothing to be afraid of, though. It often symbolizes re-birth and re-awakening. That being said, death has never been something I had dreams about. Most of my dreams have to do with me doing things that I, most likely, couldn't do in real life.

Never for me. I think the only time it was kind of there for me was when I was like, 5 or 6 and I was afraid of my basement. But that's really more about my basement than it was about death.

Hm, are you sure about the rebirth and reawakening thing? As far as I know they dont know the meaning. There are several theories, but there aren't any solid facts(and if there is, please post a link. I am very interested in the topic).

I personally think dreams are links to your subconscious.
(thank you everyone who's voted!)

That being said, everyone is going to have had different experiences and to link them to different objects and ideas in their life.

Death could be rebirth for some people, definitely.
But I think it's still subjective, and that no study or research is ever going to get into someone's "id", nevermind everyone's collective "id" (to go with the super-ego thing).
That simply isn't giving humanity its due credit of complexity sayeth I.

The common definition for death, to most (if not all), is new beginnings. It's meant to be seen as a part of you dying to make room for something new, whether it be good or bad.

Most of my dreams are about the people or objects (usually the former) of my desire. :P

Same! If I do have one of my being chased/stalking dreams I'm also blind or paralyzed and so getting away is almost impossible. Right when I'm about to get caught to be tortured and murdered I either wake up or my dream just ends and wanders into something new. So I don't ever dream my own death.

Otherwise, aside from those very rare being chased/stalked dreams I don't remember mine. When I do they are normally very goofy and random :P Sometimes pretaining to something I'm holding a strong interest in at the moment (TV show, movie, band, comics etc)

It's kinda strange, while I really often think about death, it seldom appear in my dreams, so 'almost never'.

I had a dream once that I was being stalked by Captain Planet and then I woke up and discovered that I had rolled onto my TV remote and turned the TV on.

I don't usually remember my dreams unless they leave a strong impact on me or they are especially bizarre o_O But I'm sure I dream a lot.
