Mana has copies on vhs::mana::
I think he was just saying his proposed DVD version of the DSVI concert looked like it was VHS-quality and that's why he couldn't bear to release it as originally planned.

Let's bring the talk about players over to the A/V thread, I replied to some posts there.

Do you people know if it's just the live concert or is there anything else on the disc? Like maybe music videos?
One of the earliest replies on this thread had a translation of the original release announcement and it mentioned "offshot", probably implying backstage footage.

Preordered my copy a few weeks back! That price tag is really steep, but I'm so starved for Malice Mizer/Moi dix Mois content at this point that I won't complain too much. The change to blu-ray was great news! It'll be nice to see the improvement in quality. You'd think that Mana could do some sort of digital redemption for those that order and don't have access to a blu-ray player. Was it ever mentioned if this was supposed to be the final Deep Sanctuary? I'd love to make it out to the next concert if they get back together.

At the end of the concert, when we were crying like idiots, they projected an emotive video with never-before-seen images of the band through the years, and then big kanjis like in the Bara no Seidou and the last word was: "THIS IS NOT THE END..."

Both shows sold out, it was so beautiful and well done, and they played the instruments for real! It's obvious that they will continue doing MALICE MIZER stuff in the coming years.

btw, I preordered 3 copies of BD xD. We are only 10 days away from the release (2 more Fridays, OMG) and we still do not have the cover of the BD, nor the cover of the photobook. I hope that at least, we see some teaser/trailer one of this days.

Yeah, when I saw that tweet from Mana days ago, I thought it was not the definitive cover till now. CDJapan just updated the listing:

BD:

Photobook:

I don't like the typefaces and those drop shadows :'C

Still no cover art in the japanese website:

I wonder how long it'll take for the shipment to arrive... If it takes two weeks I'll die.

Which method did you opt for? I think I went with 2-3-weeks shipping (ain't gonna wait a whole got-dang month, but also I ain't made of enough money to do 1 week or less)... and I still need a BluRay player. Also, I don't know what my living arrangement is gonna be like the following month... I'll die if I have to move before my package arrives.

Nice! That's great to hear. Now if only Mana could convince Gackt to show up next time.. if he doesn't come willingly, there are always other methods... ::vamp::

As far as the cover art goes, I gotta agree with you. As an artistic person, the later Malice Mizer periods had some pretty good art direction going on. Early Moi dix Mois dropped in quality a bit, but it still wasn't too bad. These past few albums, though, have just been painful for my eyes to look at, haha.

More Malice Mizer stuff would be godsend, but I have a feeling that it's too good to be true. Something bad always happens, mark my words. Just when they all make up their differences and are willing to record a new Malice Mizer double album, Mana will slip on some purple soap that has gothic crosses printed on it and dies in his castle's bathroom.
All the good die (looking) young.

I don't even remember. I'm usually more than happy to wait, but this time the tension is killing me.

Also, that package arriving while moving scenario is one of my biggest fears. Not my biggest nightmare, though. I once had a terrible nightmare where someone had went through my album collection and the a-hole decided to leave the CDs and booklets lying all over the place. I was desperately trying to put everything back in order, but as usual in dreams, everything was in slowmo and difficult and the mess was just getting bigger. I woke up from that horrid dream all sweaty and really tired.
I frustrated myself awake.

How could you say such things???

We all know that Mana will succumb to lead-poisoning from a defective batch of his Moitie bolo-ties. Yu~ki will be imprisoned when his underground factory is discovered full of bootlegged "Everybody Loves Raymond" DVDs, and Közi will be trampled by a stampede of feral racing cats when he drunkenly stumbles onto the track to catch his windswept ticket.

Less than 3 days till release. I think we all bought the Blu-ray "blind". We don't know the tracklist, how many minutes it will run, not even a teaser. Yeah, the anxiety is killing me xD At least, I hope they don't cut the MdM performance.

The setlist is on setlist.fm, It will include all the performances if the information of CDJapan is correct.
Maybe 3 hours of duration?

I really want to see the ZIZ and MdM parts!

The photobook seriously has the exact same cover as the disc?
Well, whatever. As long as the photos inside aren't just stills from the DVD I'll be happy.
