DECLINED

Found from the same site, from last May:
https://aramajapan.com/news/gackt-denies-bankruptcy-and-tax-evasion-rumors/88591/

And more on Gackt's tax-dodging move to Malaysia XD
https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nat...-singer-gackt-has-made-himself-at-home-in-kl/

(I really hope that when a person from the fan club applies, that the fan club is not receiving all the info on the application. That would not be good.)
Maybe he'll start issuing the Gacktcards through Wells Fargo ::meev::

Why is Gackt still even supported by millions? Are those people really that unaware of the dude's many faults? WHY

I mean, he seems to be an egomanic asshole, with a few tax issues, but aside from that, he's not exactly a monster ::meev::

Someone on Twitter the other day was going off about him being "literally wanted by the police" for the tax evasion thing, but how is he wanted by the police if he's been in Japan tons of times in the past year? Seriously, is he? Cause that makes no sense if he's still making commercials in Japan and everything...

Oh and that he was homophobic. I didn't see that one coming and asked them to elaborate but they just had the vague idea of some comments he may have made here and there.. anyone here has any sources on this btw? Cause I've only ever seen him be quite supportive of LGBT issues (in a very Gackt way, but still ::gaku::)

I feel like I'm defending him everywhere lately, wtf? I swear I'm not xD

hadn't he said something like "guys who aren't interested in cars must be queer" a few years ago?

I really do not know what is real from all the list of things he has supposedly done, but I still get a very shady feel from the guy.

There have been mentions of the police possibly taking an interest in some of his activities:
https://news.bitcoin.com/firm-behin...dle-to-relocate-to-london-amid-investigation/

Moreover, GACKT and his allies sold immediately after the coin was listed, and made a lot money from doing so, news.livedoor.com reported. It was also reported that the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit has been extremely attentive to such opaque transactions.

But as much as I like to joke about it, he's probably not headed to the slammer if he sets foot in Japan. He might have some people wanting to ask him some questions, but seeing as his business is still (presumably) based in Japan, someone's going to be answering those questions no matter what.

Even if his houses in Malaysia and/or the Philippines are some sort of tax dodge, I suspect the worst thing that'll happen is the Japanese government will say "Nice try, you're still a resident of Japan" and make him pay some back taxes and fines.

As long as he doesn't piss off the people who work for him, who make money off of him. *cough Nissan cough*

As for fans in Japan, part of the reason is the language barrier. I don't think that one negative MALICE MIZER article was even seen by most in Japan. Many others may just brush other stuff off as accusations. This is no different than in other countries. However, there are people in Japan who don't want any part of what Gackt does. They just aren't as "vocal" about it as those who still idolize him. Trust me, there are arguments there too.

It is interesting that the one thing he did that did gain traction with fans was when he posted that video of pushing that guy into the pool. A lot of people were calling him out for bullying. The financial stuff may be too complicated for many, but the visual of that act probably reminded many of experiencing bullying. And something happened for him to make his Instagram private. I wonder if he was getting a lot of negative comments there because of this?

Personally here in japanland Ive met more people who really do not know about his scandals than those who know. That credit card is ridiculous though. .

One a side note. A kyabakura customer I had from Osaka told me how gackt went into their club once and even with the lighting dimmed and the music in the background the dude kept his sunglasses on and talked in a super quite voice the whole time so everyone had to kind of pretend they knew what he was saying most of the time. If I had a gackt coin for every sad gackt story ive heard.

That's just one of those cultural things I'll never get - you'd think a guy like him could arrange a date (or "date") privately rather than going through that rigmarole.

As shitty as a person can be, no one deserves false accusations and bogus assumptions against them (i.e. the homophobia nonsense - sounds like the ramblings of a tumblrina). Go after what's actual fact and not speculation. You're not defending Gackt and his general (and confirmed) BS, you're just defending the truth.
Yes, I witnessed the whole discussion. ooff

It's a Japanese rich guy thing. Being able to go to the high end clubs and all. Besides, this way he gets lots of attention from everyone there.

yah right? if you were really so amazing you would not have to go to such places to show off your imaginary "D" size with money. Just order some deriheru.
on LINE messanger last month I saw a bunch of people were sharing a file of him singing the "last song"/final karaoke before a club or some kind of alcohol related place closes for the night, I just felt embaressed for him. From the artistic world of MM to bananas and singing your own song with karaoke to get attention, pretending you are still a host or something.

So, all you Spindle millionaires, let's talk about Zeta Alpha!
https://spindle.zone/category/detail/165
https://spindle-zeta.zone/
The next step of the Gacktcoin revolution is an investment platform for investing in "cryptocurrency hedge funds" using Spindle. But this isn't for small-time investors - if you want to get access you'll need to load up an Ethereum wallet with THREE... MILLION... SPINDLE!
drevil_cover.jpg

That's roughly $2600 at the going rate of approximately $0.00087643 apiece ::meev::

I wonder how many hours you'd have to run a GPU mining plain old Ethereum to buy up the world's entire supply of Spindle.

Maybe the next Gackt album will be released exclusively as an application that repurposes your computing hardware to do so.
Then you can use your hard-mined coins to purchase exclusive overpriced goods.
It really is the first step in establishing the Gacktconomy.

This thread is the most depressing thing I've ever read.

I never got into Gackt's solo career that much (Mizerable is still amazing though, don't deny it!), but I never really saw him in a negative light. I thought many of his interviews were really entertaining because he had that smooth and cool persona going on, but he was still in on the joke himself as well. It was funny and I thought he was a pretty cool dude. It was also kinda nice to see that he was popular and doing well after leaving Malice Mizer.

Then I started reading this thread maybe a year ago, went down the rabbit hole, and oh boy, did my perception on Gackt change. It was like reading Dawkins for the first time and then losing your faith. From a nice sunday school boy into a militant gackteist.

Like, what is all of this nonsense he's doing? Gacktcoin? Tax evasion? All sorts of allegations and scandals. Too much stuff that you just can't ignore and go back into his music.
What happened? How did this happen? How long till people only remember him for his controversies and not his music, like Gary Glitter? Gackt Glitter.

I feel like a countryside dad who's just told his crying son to fetch his rifle because "it's time to take the old Gackt behind the shed".

This is going in our forum recruitment pamphlet ::meev::

So I did a little more homework on Gacktcoin, and apparently the total worth of all circulating Spindle is about $3 million:
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/spindle/historical-data/
But here's the thing: the price of Spindle is 2% of what it was at the ICO, or 50 TIMES less valuable. In other words, people paid the Ethereum equivalent of about $150 million for these coins back in May. Where's that $147 million of lost value? Someone's made a fortune ::cred::

There's an official Spindle thread on Bitcointalk here, with an official representative. Here's a link from about when the ICO started:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3091671.980
You can see those poor schmucks gradually get disillusioned and start calling for the founders' heads
Kind of interesting and sad to see the kind of people who hang around those threads, talking up their coin in hopes of giving it a dead-cat bounce and clawing back a few pennies of what they lost. "Oh yes, big big, very big, good coin."
Seems like there's a controversy over whether the founders are going to dump their hoard of worthless Spindle or not - they claim it's all locked up for a year. It's probably true too; they already made their money and don't care what happens to their billions of Gacktcoins.

And just to bring this a little closer to on-topic, here's a picture of Grackt and "Evangelist Lina" talking up Spindle in Italy back in June:

Hi, welcome to me throughout high school! Just add insatiable lust and nauseating hero-worship (Ahhh, youth...)

I wouldn't got THAT far, mate... Nobody's unearthed any secret stash of kiddie-porn on anyone's hard-drive ...yet.

It really is a pity, though... Watching him gradually spiral into delusion, egomania, and general disgrace over the course of a few short years (it seems to me). I think my growing disdain for solo-Gackt has helped me to more appreciate everything (no matter what little) he had to offer MM. I do thank him for being my gateway to 6 wonderfully unique, talented artists (Mana, Közi, Yu~ki, Kami, Tetsu, and Klaha) and explore the classic VK genre for a spell, and appreciate other artists more as well, and learn and explore everything else the land of the Rising Sun has to offer besides Annie May and Mangos
(and reasonably-priced, daily-use motor vehicles). :B --And let us not forget, this magnificent forum and tight-knit community that has survived the ages!
