Goodness I sure am interested in knowing what the english lyrics to Lotus are lol. Forest of Paralysis sounds like the only song with a halfway decent melody :/ not very memorable. If you asked me to sing the melody to any of these songs, I dont think i'd be able to.

I have every Schwarz Stein song transliterated and translated on my site. So the lyrics are on that page.

I thought the EP was alright; but I agree, it's nothing too memorable. Not like their older songs, that's for certain.

erm so I haven't heard anything from Immortal Verses yet.
But I have heard Haven, and it's basically just a sligtly techno-er, slightly gay-er mashup of all of their previous songs.
Even the lyrics are 100% copy paste from other Kaya songs.

I didn't buy the single and I don't think I regret it...
Is it really that different?

Wow, everyone is so negative about Immortal Verses ::weepy:: I guess it's not their bestest release ever, but it's not a BAD album either.
I wonder what's Japanese fans' take on it... I follow a few Japanese fans' twitter, but no one ever writes anything about the songs :P (I have a feeling that for Japanese fans it's not so much about music as it is about going to lives.)

I haven't read the lyrics that closely, but Kaya said he wrote all of them on the plane on his way to Mexico, so yeah XD Maybe he didn't spend that much time on them.

And Hora probably wrote all the music on the way to Waiha ::meev::

But I have heard Haven
I just listened to "Haven" on YouThief, and this is literally 2 bars of music on repeat. I would feel massively disrespected if I paid money for this. Why not just mail Hora a canister of macadamia nuts directly and skip this whole charade?

Ouch and ouch XD I will still defend Hora and say that I quite like those 2 bars of music on repeat. Maybe I will even mail him a canister of macadamia nuts (because no one else probably will).

I wonder what's Hora's main source of income, like... is there any monetary incentive at all for him to release new music? Someone asked him at a Q&A if he writes music for others and he said he does it only very little (but refused to give any hint about which kind of music or for whom). As for Kaya, he clearly spends too much time on his various side projects.

Maybe if foreign fans supported them more, they would be more motivated ;)

Being entirely serious, I think he does make about enough from each album to finance one trip to Waiha.

As for his main source of income? Well, it's like they say: what do you call a musician without a girlfriend?

Even though their newer material doesn't exude the same "darkness" that their original songs seemed to, I still find I enjoy every one of their new releases. It's just one of those things where even when an artist isn't at their best, I still support and love even the worst of what they may put out. :) Guilty pleasures and whatnot.

And I love 'Haven' as well; for some reason, the repeated bars make for excellent workout music. XD

Well, there's "not being at one's best" and then there's plain old "not even trying". I mean, it's not like Schwarz Stein went through an ill-advised genre change and ended up releasing some bad tunes by happenstance.

Yeah, as Hanachan said. I get the sense they're not even trying anymore.
And with the prices they charge for CDs it's just not the same thing as, say, a dollar a song on iTunes or whatever.

Lowkey it's a bop. The simple instrumentation allows the vocals to shine tbh. My favorite Hora song (IGNITION) doesn't have a complex structure either and that's what makes it so catchy ! I don't think... I have ever listened to his music expecting something intricate, no offense.

I wouldn't buy their physical releases (and I haven't) but the fact that it's available on spotify makes it a fun simple experience.

It's available on Spotify? That's news.

I quite like Ignition too, but i don't like hearing it x times with a different song title and vaguely different arrangement. WAKE UP PEARL!

Hey, I have an idea. Maybe some of you unbelievers wants to sell me their copy of Hora's VENOM? It's the one album I miss from a full Hora collection. C'mon, I know you don't need it. I would lovingly listen to it every day.

Schwarz Stein is releasing a new single! http://schwarz-stein.jp/information/detail.php?id=39
Or two, in fact. One on Hora's birthday and the other on Kaya's birthday.

As always, there will be a "special arrange" bonus CD for those who get their copy at the live venue and a comment CD for online buyers (I've always wondered if it shouldn't be the other way round, considering the possible language barrier for overseas fans).
