Anyone else order goods from CD Japan for DSVI?

my order was marked as “In Shipping Process” today! I thought it would take a while longer, considering, but I’m pleasantly surprised; especially since I hadn’t reached out to their customer service.

I had to "reach out" because they removed something from one of my orders but failed to notify me about that or if they credited my cc back for it. But sometimes it helps to contact people to get things moving.
Given that the goods weren't even at the concert and delays after that, there was some question as to if they would happen. So it was not a bad thing to follow up.

oh, absolutely! I wasn’t disagreeing, and should clarify that I was considering reaching out to them for a status update even before I saw this thread, because their original shipping estimate (at the time I ordered, a month ago) was “1-4 days after the release date (Sept. 30).”

I feel as though inquiries such as yours may have helped (however indirectly) to move other orders (like mine) along, because they just marked my order as shipped and I can’t help but find the timing a little coincidental, when I was prepared to wait a little longer after reading everyone else’s replies.

Well, someone may have helped out, I can't really say. It's all good, people will get their stuff, especially those who went to the concerts.

Well I finally got one of my shirts. And a blue tote bag. Which was not what I paid for, since I already have one. So now it's back to trying to get either a refund from CD Japan for what I didn't get or to get them to send me what I ordered. I am beyond frustrated with CD Japan.

It appears they had the wrong product identifier number on the item I received. Either the merchandiser or CD Japan is messed up.

two bags one not needed.jpg I really did not need a second blue tote bag. I really didn't.

Here is something that might help your wait. I love it when YouTube throws me up something old that I haven't seen before. Because I've seen almost all of the MALICE MIZER videos

I've recently found the YT video of the Shinwa VHS and flipped out xD I'm not even sure if I'd seen it before or not! I actually found it with unreleased MM songs audio, then someone on Twitter pointed out what the video was.

Actually I was debating posting it here but I'll make a new thread about it. ::meev::

That has been around for a while, probably better not to post it since it has images still being used by Midi:Nette. It's actually a fan made video, not legit from MM. The Gackt concert audio was actually separate from that, from one of his first concerts with the band. There use to be uploads of it in the download section. Might be better to ask for that separately.

Damn I posted it before reading your reply ::meev::

@flowersofnight please advise? Or feel free to delete it, I guess?

I'm pretty sure Shinwa is still under copyright, even if they don't have it for sale. You can always remove videos or delete posts yourself.

I think the rules are that we only can't post things are still in print, no issue with copyrights... indeed I'm not sure if Shinwa is out of print, although it seems to be sold out at CDJapan and not listed at all on the midi:nette shop.

And I can't delete the thread, only flowers can do that (or close it down at least).

Basically under Japanese law, it's all under copyright protection, including all the stuff on YouTube that is not uploaded by the artist. So there are issues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_law_of_Japan#Applicability
Well, the reality is that pretty much everything we discuss here is under copyright, down to the tiniest most obscure demo tape from a band that only released 1 tape in 1991. All the sound, every frame of video, all the pictures (including cropped sections of pictures like most people's avatars), all the lyrics illegally translated into English and diminishing the hypothetical value of any future official English release, all the radio broadcasts that only aired once at 4AM in 1997, everything. We've never banned copyrighted material entirely here.

The rule of thumb is basically:
If it's still for sale at retail, it's banned
If it amounts to industrial espionage or ripping off an imminent release (or re-release), it's banned
If it's putting money into the hands of pirates, it's banned
If it generally seems like an attempt to weasel out of buying something you "should be" buying, it's banned

As for "Shinwa" specifically, we're talking about a VHS-only video that's somewhat hard to come by and that most people here probably don't even have the equipment to play even if they bought a copy. I would maybe think twice about allowing it in the downloads section yet, but posting a link to an online video to discuss the contents I'm going to say is fine in this case.

yes, my girlfriend has the original VHS Shinwa, and years later download a "mp4 version" (We do not trust the old vhs player at home)

To follow up on the disaster that is called CD Japan and to put this thread back on topic. They sent me the wrong t-shirt in my second order. In my first order they sent me a Moi dix Mois bag that I did not order. Instead of the apron which I did pay for, which costs more than the bag. Which I already have so now I have two of them, one that I do not need.

During my repeated messages on FB with them, they admitted they have a severe staffing shortage.

I have been waiting three weeks for them to get the apron, which is showing available on Midi:Nette. I finally messaged them again. This was their response:
"I have been keeping an eye out for your order, making inquiries to both the supplier and our warehouse but to be honest, I have not gotten a decent response."

It's been two months since I made my first order. After cancelling one item in that, sending me one wrong item in that and the wrong item in the second order I made (which was the only item in that order), now they are offering store credit or a refund back to my card. Instead of actually trying to get the item like they said they would three weeks ago.

I do not know if there are problems with Mana's merchandiser. But the majority of problems for this have been with CD Japan. I have been buying from them for ten years and I never had a problem till now.

Honestly, them having merchandise for sale on their website that they don't actually have...that is not okay. Not when there are continued problems with them actually getting the merchandise, often turning out that it was never available in the first place. Along with them not updating availability of items. Even if there is a problem with a merchandiser, CD Japan is responsible for having accurate information on their website for their items. Which they obviously do not have.

Yeah, it really is a shame to see them stumbling like this. They were one of the first "serious" websites that sold VK and accepted foreign customers.

I have been buying Moitié from them and cds starting back in 2008. After Marui One stopped selling online, they were the only place to get items easily. Even then it was known that they had to get the items from Moitié but things usually went smoothly without too long of a wait. But Moitié is no longer selling through them. They ended it a couple months ago. Given that they already have WunderWelt to handle everything overseas, it was not surprising. I do wonder though if there were problems since CD Japan was still selling Moitié after Tanaqro took over Moitié.

Even if Mana's merchandise people have problems, it's CD Japan's fault for listing items they don't have and not updating with accurate information as to when they will get items. If they don't know when then they need to state that on the item pages. Along with sending the wrong items to customers.

What gets me is I was told three weeks ago that they could get the apron if I wanted to wait a couple weeks. Now it's this lame excuse about not getting a decent reply. Given that the apron is shown as being available on the Midi:Nette website, that is not what they should be telling customers.

What a nostalgia trip.
And it was huge being able to order from a regular site that took credit cards, and even get the first-press bonus posters ::cred::
Remember having to buy those pink money orders? XD
That's a big reason places like this originally got started - everything about being a fan used to be hard XD

Now I'm getting bs from CD Japan about refunding me for the apron. Person is going on about store credit. Seriously, they f'd up, sent me the wrong item that was worth less than what I paid for. I waited two months and this is how they respond? And I still have not received the correct t-shirt that I ordered. My father died today, I really don't need this crap from them.

And yes, if I have to file a charge back for these items with my credit card company, I will be writing to Mana about the situation. Because basically CD Japan is listing items without having the items and without checking to see if they are even available, and then blaming Midi:Nette. Midi:Nette is not responsible for what CD Japan puts on their website.
