Also it was hella awkward elephant in the room that no one was mentioning Gackt
The elephant in the room is that their ex-vocalist is a financial criminal ::cop::
I wonder how many people in that room bought Spindle ::meev::

or maybe the plans to invite the old members fell through so the roadies participating were a sort of plan B
I think that was the case, Gackt and Testu both had scheduling conflicts and nobody knows which planet Klaha lives on. Mana even tried tracking Klaha down through Twitter (this?) last year.

I feel like instead of so much talking they could of added more songs. I understand Columbia owns the mervielles rights but he did get permission for Au Revoir, Illuminati and Bel Aire. I’m not sure why there wasn’t more from the album (or even the Yuki Transylvania bit) .
I think they were pretty pressed for time, the venue closes at 10:00 and by the time they scoot everyone out and distribute the memorial goods there wouldn't be much time left. Of course they could have just dropped the Ziz and MdM sets and just focused on MM. As for playing the songs live, as far as I know bands can do whatever they want, it's recording and releasing the material that causes problems.

While I appreciate the effort and experience overall I feel they could of done much much more for the 25th Anniversay than wht they did do.
I felt the same about Mana's 25th anniversary and the Moi dix Mois 15th anniversary last year.

For those who went, thoughts?
Like everything Malice Mizer did, flawed in many ways and unable to realise it's full potential, but still fantastic.

Also it was hella awkward elephant in the room that no one was mentioning Gackt but they played the Mervielles Lespace video for Au revoir but no sound. He was in no photos with Kami.... it kinda felt like they were ignoring his part in the band. ( course some of his could be Gackt not letting them show anything)

Talking was more for the Japanese fans and the band. I do understand how it felt for people who don't understand much Japanese or even know a bit. But MCs are part of live shows in Japan. And it was the "roadies" who controlled how long they talked.

As for Gackt, he keeps opening his mouth and saying more outrageous stuff. Mana asked him to perform for the 20th and they did meet up to discuss plans and then Gackt said he was busy. Mana asked him to participate in this one, Gackt said he was too busy. At that point, why would they talk about him at all? He left MM and doesn't want to take part in anything. His choice.

And yeah, Tetsu is super busy. He's as bad as Közi with the numerous bands, got to be performing all the time.

I thought that video playing while Mana was moving around the stage was a lot of fun. Of course the sound was off because the band was performing live. Mana was trying to parallel that old performance and he did a great job of it. Except no Scooter a Go Go.

Okay, here's my take on people wishing there were more songs. I went to DSV. I've read about prior ones. In the past they did three, maybe four songs and not much else. And as someone who has been a fan for 13, 14 years, I've always imagined what it would be like to be in the audience of a Malice Mizer show. This, this was it.

Now part of the reason they didn't do a full on concert is because none of them played together until recently. I think they were rehearsing in different combinations for about a month? All the singers and Sakura have there own bands (not sure if Hitomi has a band right now but he does perform)
and Yu~ki, well he doesn't come down from the mountains that often, so they don't have the time to rehearse for a full on concert. Concerts take a lot of time to put together, often parts are worked out while touring. By musicians who perform together a lot. So I will say what they put on stage for DSVI was very impressive, given the time constraints.

What unreleased footage? Video or music? Because if it is about video, I don't think this Anniversary stuff is done yet...

For me, I loved the concert. It was a dream come true. And I thought Mana did a fantastic job putting it together, given the limitations.

Ive partied with hitomi as we have mutual music friends and talks of the roadies doing the sessions were from last year so its not like it was a last minute plan B.

Cant please everyone I guess haha.

What do you mean? I thought the roadies were great. ;_;

I just mean that the original idea was probably get the original singers, that fell through so the next best thing to do would be to get someone else close to the material, i.e. the roadies to fill in.

Also not like there was a huge, flipping natural disaster on top of all that as well. Any fans/goers or staff heavily affected?

Actually two huge, flipping natural disasters. Typhoon Jebi and the Hokkaido Earthquake. I don't know if anyone was severely impacted, but there were fans who contacted Mana a few days before saying they could not travel because the airports/train lines were shut down. But Japan is amazing when it comes to getting major transportation up and running and the main lines were up and running within a day or two. Kansai Airport had one runway that was not damaged so they were able to handle flights again on a limited basis.

When I looked at the audience on 9/9, I didn't see any empty seats. So I would guess that most were able to get to the show. As to their homes and the rest of their lives, I do not know. I hope not too much suffering.

Sakura and Közi returned Kami's drums to the school in Kami's home town. They had dinner with Kami's parents and Kami's father took them to a local bridge which is popular for bungie jumping.

The photos are from Sakura's instagram and Közi's twitter. He posted the one at the school.

Yah! It was hard to tell what was written as it faded but it seemed like some kind of punk rock thingie? Idk haha. Im going back on the 15th for the costumes! If you are heading over there too and wanna grab coffee with another wierd vampire foreigner hit me up!
Sorry, I didn't see your response till now. It's a problem of traveling with a little lap top. Maybe next time I'm in Tokyo

I decided to look for that photo, thinking it was around one of the Kami anniversary dates. Last year in June. It's not the same bag. It's a different one that a roadie kept. But according to Mana's tweet, it's Mana's drawing of punk Kami. Tweet is here https://twitter.com/M_d_M_official/status/877186608662929408

Strange feeling that I remembered this when seeing that other bag.

Kami's bag at ESP. No idea if Mana drew this, but the use of blue makes me think he did. Would be nice if he writes something, but guess he's off to Finland. It was fun last year when he would chat a lot on Twitter.

Wait, did I miss the joke? How is he trolling Gackt? *super confused* is there a photo of Gackt eating a banana somewhere?
There's a picture circulating the interwebs of Gackt back again with his creepy bleach-blond hair staring sensuously at the camera whilst eating a banana.... I think there's more to it but I dare not soil my eyes (or sanity) further.

(ngl I'm loving Közi's "fight me u li'l bitch" expression there)

Gackt's latest thing is doing ads for selling bananas. Including photos of him about to eat one. There are even displays of Gackt bananas in stores. (I didn't see one while in Tokyo but other people have).

EDIT:
Coloured foil ribbon shot everywhere (red, blue, yellow, purple and silver, I think there was a black too but I'm not sure). I realised they were coloured and grabbed one of each just before everyone else around me did and the mad scramble began. A rather rotund Japanese woman came barreling down the aisle pushing people aside to grab almost all of them.
I found her ::meev::

Yeah, it's the reason for the new banana brain meme. *sigh* I'm still loling at Közi.

When I bent over to get some of the streamers because damn it, I wanted a souvenir since they did not have those shirts, there were actually people who were climbing over me. I was shocked that people were getting that crazy. And this was a few minutes after the streamers fell so they already had time to get some.

I saw people also selling them on Twitter. And that price on that auction, are people actually willing to pay that? Then I have a gold mine, lol. I even have one of the caps from a cannon, it ended up at my feet. (I have no plans on selling any of it, don't know if I will keep that cap. Just was funny to me)

The streamers were a great effect. Mana really did a great job with the concerts.

Given the number of disasters going on during my trip, getting the seat I got was great. Aisle in front of me, aisle to my left. There had been six rows in the front section but they removed the first row for the camera people so I was fourth row in front of Mana during MALICE MIZER. Thus the rain of streamers around me. This was all good because I had fallen in the dark hall and my right leg below my knee became very swollen so I had to sit a lot. I'm really grateful for this seat. My one bit of good luck.
