The only halfway solid rumor I heard about Ash is that he got a job as an editor (whatever that means) after dropping out of the music scene, but that was years ago and it was only a random website person's rumor.
Anyway I'll stop derailing the thread now XD
When derailing is amusing, it's cool. This was amusing.

Sakura-Con's schedule is up. A pdf of it is at this website http://sakuracon.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/SC2018_Schedule.pdf

They have not listed anything for Mana or Mint Neko of h.NAOTO. That doesn't mean there won't be anything. Hopefully they will update when they have information. The Moitie fashion show is scheduled for mid-day Saturday per the information given out on the model application.

Do you have to register in advance for all the other events? If not, I can kind of see that bc it's so ~exclusive~, they don't have to put it in the timetable. But then again, not everyone who plans on attending the con might knows about the event...

I'm also kind of surprised, but not really, to see K-pop stuff integrated into this. When did this start happening?!

Except for the tea party, the fashion show, any signings or panels are open to all convention goers. Usually by this time all panels and signings are in the program. I can understand why Mana may not have committed to things yet since it's birthday time first! But they also do not have Mint Neko on the program so something is not getting done by someone.

It's to the point I'm having to look at 4-chan for information. Someone wrote there that the promoter has their guests sign autographs at their booth...right. This promoter may have never handled a guest who is going to have a lot of people attending. Highly unlikely Mana is going to be signing at their booth for security and space reasons. Often cons charge now for autographs so I don't know if that will be the case here.

I'm not into K-pop and haven't been to a convention for a few years so I don't know when that started. But it is popular now, at least from what I see online.

Supposedly Mana is doing two signings at Sakura-Con. Per a comment the promoter put on their FB post about being at the MdM concerts over the weekend.

Why this promoter is not getting information out via their own posts and social media...and Sakura-Con not getting it on their schedule, I do not know. I don't think it is Mana, since he's done US cons before with signings and panels and is pretty much there for the duration, so he knows what happens there. He really needs a better promoter here in the US. And there are ones that handle the major lolita fashion lines and models and do a very good job.

Well in all of their original announcements the promoter said there would be autographs. Just because the con didn’t have it on the schedule yet didn’t really make me think they were canceled. I think they just aren’t scheduled at this time. Who knows why. But we always knew he was going to have them, and it was announced on all social media. I’m glad it’s confirmed again so people can put their minds at ease.

I never said the autographs were cancelled.
It's not just the autograph information that has been a problem...

I'm confident that Moitie and Mana will do well.

Sakuracon is being an emotional rollercoaster for me. Not only because it's going to be the first time I'll see Mana (after more than 10 years of worship!!). I'm going all the way from South America just to see him. I was hitting the refresh button like crazy when the Sakuracon FB page announced the teaparty tickets!

Years ago, Mana-sama announced he would come to Brazil but canceled days later. I never knew exactly why. After that, never again Mana-sama showed interest for any country in South America. Versailles/Kamijo, Kaya and other artists of Visual Kei made several concerts here, but Mana? No. I'm sure it's not a problem of South America alone (what was the last time he went overseas?) but in the moment he was announced as a guest at Sakuracon, I knew I should do everything I could to be there. See, I'm 30 years old, never been to a M10M concert, never seen him in my life and I don't know if he will be in my continent in the future. But I had no money! Not a single penny. And then a girl from Canada (who is now my friend) sent me a message asking if I was interested in selling her my Iron Gate onepiece. The funny part is, she is also going to Sakuracon. Before knowing that, I didn't want to sell her my dress because shipping costs, paypal fees and customs taxes are such a pain (for both seller and buyer) but then I thought "if she buys my dress, I can afford this trip!" And so we did it. She bought my dress, I bought my flight tickets and made my Airbnb reservation right after receiving the money. Iron Gate OP will be delivered in person to an awesome owner who made this possible and I will actually see Mana-sama in real life! Oh, I will also spend one week at Seattle with my husband, but that part of the trip is on him!

I hope you still have some other Moitie to wear, you know they won't let you in otherwise XD

Wow... this is some dedication! Especially since Iron Gate is such a rare print.... But I am happy you'll be able to go and see him live after such a long time.

Apparently Mana is on the schedule for autographs from 11 am to 12 noon on Sunday. But since that is right before the Tea Party and there is a lot of time he's not scheduled for anything, I would not be surprised if this changes. There are suppose to be two sessions so maybe something on Friday?

I'm wondering if there will be a panel. It was mentioned back when.

He has not said anything on Twitter but then he has been a little busy lately

Because the promoter didn't sell enough tickets. That's why the South American tour was cancelled. The promoter (an ex friend) thought that Moi dix Mois was famous in this continent, he contacted Yuki Itoh, they arranged a reunion in Tokyo, and the promotion of the tour started. Here in Chile they booked a really big theater for almost 5 thousand peoples, but they sold, at least, 500 tickets xD

Versailles/Kamijo, Kaya and other artists of Visual Kei made several concerts here, but Mana?

Moi dix Mois is not a popular band, is a niche band. So I really appreciate Wunderwelt is arranging only Mana events around the globe, and not with the whole band. Mana is popular, he and what he created with Moitié and the Lolita movement. but not his band MdM, cause not everyone likes that music or genre.

I have talked about this many times and I am sorry if it is not to everyone's liking, but is the truth (This remember me some dudes that think Dir en Grey is a popular band in Japan because is popular with the J-Rockers overseas, but is not a popular band in they natal country like, maybe, Glay, Laruku or Luna Sea).

I guess all those "MOI DIX MOIS IN CHILE" people should be proud of the oversized impact they had
I remember thinking it funny that we had like 5 of them here back in the day.

What is amazing is that Moi dix Mois does still have a good number of fans here in the US. I've been looking at the responses of people to Mana appearing at Sakura-Con and there are many who mention Moi dix Mois, want the band to play here again, and are less about Moitie. Not that Moitie doesn't have a lot of support here. But the price and sizes and difficulty in getting it made it more of an exclusive line in the US, in mostly with lolitas and goths. While I don't think Moi dix Mois could sell out arenas like X-Japan or Vamps, I do think with good promotion they could do a small tour of places the size of a House of Blues and most if not all of the tickets would sell.

I do think Wunderwelt and Moitie will do well at Sakura-Con. There are a number of fashion fans and lolitas who are really looking forward to this.

Omg really? I didnt know that. That's sad... But that makes sense, I see that a lot of people are crazy about Kamijo and Kaya but not everyone likes Moi dix Mois. :'(

I was at the subway the other day and this guy approached me and said "Is that a Moi dix Mois pendant?" and I was like "OMG do you know Moi dix Mois???" and he said "Yes, I love them! But I have to get off at this station, bye!". I nearly cried because I had no time to ask his name.

So, have we got our field agents in place? Looking forward to some reports from tonight's Q&A!
... And if anyone feels the need to ask "HOW'S GACKT", don't tell them we sent you ::meev::

Also, anyone using up a question on "Is Moi dix Mois going to make a PV" is banned XD

He was at Sakuracon this year, so I went to his Q&A panel. People were mostly asking questions about the fashion though, since he was there mostly representing Moi Meme Moitie. Was anyone else there?
